  1. What I can tell you at this time... ROW III is scheduled for a January launch. It will be organized along the same lines as ROW II, with 72 players divided into 3 groups, then further divided into groups of 6 (or is it 8?) each. It will feature the following: *5 brand new scenarios from the same team that bought you 'Sounds in the night',' Head for the hills' and 'Fire on the mountain' among others. An additional 3 new scenarios will be made available for the finals. *The tourney will be organized and maintained by Treeburst155, the undisputed tourney master, with assistance provided by yours truly. *The tourney will be sponsored by everyone's favorite wine merchant, Winecape (who owes me a 5000 pt CMBB rematch!), and has offered a choice selection of fine South African wine as tourney prizes. *A brand new webpage devoted exclusively to the ROW tourneys. We plan on having a separate page for each ROW, with screenshots, scores and AARs in each. It's still under construction, but you will find it at the Boots and Tracks website. Sound like something you might be interested in?
  2. Hey, while you're in there, you think you could mention something about the follow command? Thanks
  3. Good God! Treeburst just carpet-bombed me with 3 monster e-mails full of AARs. Gents, no need to send them, I have enough here to keep me busy for the next 9 years. Thanks TB
  4. Please send me any AARs you may have from the first Rumbling's of war tourney. I do not need the AARs from ROW II, I have these already, just ROW I. Please send them zipped if possible. My address is in my profile. Thank you
  5. Wow, ain't that rich! Last I checked, this was a public forum. Last I checked, expressing one's opinion, no matter how off the wall it is, is allowed here as long as you stay within the rules. Last I checked, only the moderators can tell someone if they are allowed to post. And finally, last I checked, you are not a moderator. You may resume with your serious discussion.
  6. Treeburst, I have a great idea! Let's put Holien in the same section as Kiwi Joe, Wreck and swamp.
  7. Gents, A message from Treeburst: ************************ You're doing a great job with game results and AAR submissions. You're making my job simple and quick. Thanks for following instructions. It REALLY helps me. At this time I have on record 37 AARs. If you have sent in one or more AARs, you are listed below with the number of AARs I have from you. Let me know if you think I've lost one of yours. Bertram-1 Combined Arms-1 cuzn-1 Evan-2 Heavy Drop-2 Jack Trap-5 Jon L-2 Juha A-1 J. Kettler-4 MickOZ-5 Mike8g-3 Rat-1 Redwolf-1 Spanish Bombs-2 TabPub-1 Tom-1 Vadr-4 I'll let you know when I have 75% of the game results in. At that point, those of you who have finished ALL your games may request the current scoresheet via email. If you can open Microsoft Works files (.wks) you'll get a pretty spreadsheet. If you can't, you'll get an ugly text conversion, but you'll be able to figure it out. Unless you specify the Works file, you'll get text. Most people can't handle my antique spreadsheet files. Remember, we're shooting for mid-September for completion of the "regular season". The finals will consist of a three game round-robin that ALL players may participate in. Our never before seen scenarios are in testing right now by the Boots & Tracks Scenario Design Team. I'm not sure how much of a negative impact on these finals the CMBB release will be, but I'm hoping most of you will still be interested. For the section winners there is WineCape's vino and war movies (Tourney III) on the line. The rest of you I would like to see participate so I can get a good median score for the three scenarios. The more times the scenario is played, the better balance can be determined. Thanks! Fight On!! Treeburst155 out.
  8. Scott forgot to mention that those who defeated Kingfish in ROW I would be excluded from participating in any future ROWs...
  9. Jon, You need to add one more division to your list of those at Anzio, the U.S. 36th infantry division. I believed they arrived sometime after the Allies broke thru the Gustav line (May 18?)
  10. Gentlemen, A message from Treeburst: Finished Games Reported: Tourney I, 30/60 Tourney II, 36/60 Tourney III, 32/60 We're shooting for mid-September guys. That's about four more weeks. If your turn around rate is slow, it's time to pick up the pace if at all possible. We're in the home stretch now. As soon as I have 75% of the results in, I will send my spreadsheet in text format (few can open my .wks files) to all those who are finished at that point. I don't want to do it sooner for security reasons. I will let you know when we reach the 75% mark. After that you need only email me with a request for the scores. I will verify that you have finished your games, then send you the scores. Fight On!!
  11. It's been a while since I've played it, but I'll tell you what I know. The map you get at set up is the entire play area, so it doesn't scroll forward if one side advances. The heights is the heavily wooded plateau overlooking the Eindhoven / Nijmegan road. Looking at the map from the american side it is to the left of the small village, and directly across the leftmost setup zone (white?) As far as vic conditions, because it is a destroy op the game will take into account kills rather than territory gained when calculating the winner. However, you will soon realize (no matter which side you are) that whomever controls of the heights controls the board, so territory does play a big role, and should be part of your overall goal. I hope this helped.
  12. Here's another: What famous recon unit is this?

  15. Jack, Head on over to the General forum (where this thread will eventually end up anyway). There are several threads about UV there. I do have UV, and enjoy it, so feel free to e-mail me if you have questions.
  16. Pardon my ignorance, but what kind of beast is that behind the group?[/QB]</font>
  17. Methinks a bit of clarification is in order, lest someone comes away with the impression I have a fetish for uber SS, or did nothing more than close my eyes and merrily clicked away on the purchase screen... Although the scenario is based on an actual battle, it is not an attempt at recreating it. Therefore, the OOBs of each side are not accurate down to the last rifle clip or piat round. Likewise, the scenario doesn't attempt to depict any indivdual battle at Gavrus (the Argylls defended Gavrus from June 28th thru July 1st, my scenario is 40 turns long). So what you get is a fair amount of that one ingredient that goes into every scenario, compromise (Gasp!) As for why certain units are in, and others were ommitted, I decided to give each player the option to try different tactics, even if it meant going against established doctrine. The German HTs are a good example. Some would argue that they have no place on the battlefield, and should be safely hidden once their passengers have disembarked. Others might want to use their HTs as mobile MGs, accepting the risk of heavy losses from enemy AT assets in return for providing support for the assault troops. By including the HTs I gave the German player the option to try each, or a combination, thereby increasing the re-playability of the scenario (I hope!). As for the expereince level of each side's forces, that was based on my best guess, and again compromise (there's that word again) came into play. I ended up raising each side's level up one notch, just to increase the intensity of the fight, rather than give any one side an overwhelming advantage. Anyway, I hope this clears up any confusing as to why this is in, that is not, or how come it's designed this way. I do appreciate your suggestions (all of you) and for taking time to play and review it.
  18. Such an evil, wicked tease...but then again, it's from you.
  19. A bump for those who haven't played it yet, and a friendly request for those who have to review it.
