1. He's got my vote. He's the man! ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
2. Go into the game and dig out the several tutorial scenarios and play them over and over until you start winning. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
3. I have'nt investigated this in the QBs but if it will move some of the "I only play as Axis" crowd out of their safe encloser and experience the game in it's fullness, I'm all for it. I believe this more reflects the historical reality of the War in Europe. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
4. There is only one demo available. The new patch applies only to the full game. You can play by e-mail with anyone who has the demo, not the full game. I don't know if the demo will have the tcp/ip function in the future. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
5. Would'nt it be cool to be able to play a game on computer and have your mini tanks and vehicles move at the command of the computer program? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
6.
quote:
Originally posted by Flipper: cool music did you know that all the airplane scene's the music is done in F minor.

Very interesting! I'll have to watch it again and look for that feature. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
7. Nothing elite about them, you just have to be willing to follow the ladder rules and finish games. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
8. Though it's not much use to historians, I still like the old "Victory at Sea" series. I especially enjoy the music and I have that one on video tape as well. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
9. In the time it took to reload one of these guns, you would get one round every thirty minutes or so. If it were modeled in CM you would only get a few shots, hardly worth bothering about. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
10. I have the "Wargame of the Year" edition and I love it. It's my second most favorite game. Do not get the original or elite versions, they have some problems that were worked out in the later versions. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
11. I have the series on video. You can get from Time-Life and only pay so much a month. I've seen it advertized on four video tapes for a lot less. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
12. The only way I've killed my own guys so far is to have artillery shorts. I had a 14" barrage take out an entire platoon. I forgot. I had a squad fire at another squad from the same side in heavy fog. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. 13. Some of the older members had to wait 2 years to get the game. They did have two demos to tie them over, however. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
14. How do you play a game in the scenario editor? Am I missing something? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
15.
quote:
Originally posted by Mr. Clark: I D/Loaded a program called FRAPS. You just run it then fire up CM.

What is FRAPS and where do you get it? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
16. This tank was probably brought to France by the Germans for training purposes. Later in the war I think France was the main training ground for German forces. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
17. Did you delete all of the beta version including the old exe.? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
18. LST 325 arrived in Mobile Ala. on schedule today, all hands safe. Man that ship looks like something out of the "holligan" navy. The bottom looked like if someone dropped a wrench from the top opening of the well deck it would go through the hull. Thank God they had fairly good weather. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
19. I've found the best way to have any tank survive is to keep them moving. Use the hunt and fast move commands in succession and zig zag as much as you can. Use more than one tank to cover one another. Don't let your tanks sit in an exposed position at all. Move, move, move. That's what those tracks are for. Even if you have to remain in the same spot, move the tanks forwards and backwards. Use infantry in advance of the tank if possible to guard against surprises. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
20.
quote:
Originally posted by ianc: Looks VERY cool, but a Russian engine? Nyet! ianc

As I understand it, the original FW 190s were fitted out with engines based on American Pratt and Whitneys. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. 21. I've played this scenario on the RD Ladder and had my head handed to me. I examined the scenario later in the editor and came to the conclusion that it is impossible for the German player to win this one unless he's playing against a complete fool. Don't judge all bocage scenarios by this one, this scenario needs serious re-working to come out with a balance of play. I even talked with the author and found out that this was his first try at scenario creation. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
22. I've read von Mellenthin's book, although it has been quite some time, and I believe the part you refer to was when he arrived after the collapse of the Normandy lines and the Allied pursuit across France. The German Army on the Western Front was in a pathetic condition and had the Allies been able to supply their motorized divisions the war could have been over before Christmas. But the German Army had officers, like von Mellenthin, who had experience pulling together the disjointed remnants of their divisions and setting up rather effective defensive lines, given enough time. This was experience gained by long years of fighting a defensive war on the Eastern Front against a much larger armed force. In this one instance, what von Mellenthin said was true, but it did'nt last for long. In November when Patton opened his offensive to take the Saar region and blast a hole in the German defenses, he ran into formidable opposition. Not until after the Battle of the Bulge did the Germans suffer a wholesale collapse for their Army. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
23. Let us not be too critical of people wanting to make wargames for computers, they are few and far between. Give them a chance to come up with some products and we may be surprised. Personally I don't care if a game has hexes. One of my favorites is "The Operational Art of War" with plenty of hexes. Why, even Sqaud Leader has hexes. CM will be very hard to beat, but I'd like to see someone try since we wargame enthusiasts will be the winners in the contest. So let's wait and see what they come up with. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
24. There are many photos of 12th SS Panzer Division troops being transported on the backs of tanks. I believe after tanks became big enough, it was common for German troops to ride. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
