1. Sorry I posted this question but I don't get to read the entire forum that often and I was wondering what the problem was. Thanks for your kind response. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
2. Start a topic and see who responds. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
3. No wonder. I have the same thing with a 450Mhz processor and 128Megs of Ram and a Nividia Riva w 32Megs and I get slowdowns in large scenarios. I even get slowdowns in medium size games if there are lots of terrain and vehicles. You may have to get a better video card to get rid of your problem. Have you run it through the tech help section of the forum? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
4. This is "The Battle of the Bulge" and is the most unrealistic movie I've ever seen. The Germans were seldom able to deploy tanks en masse as shown in the movie since the Ardennes region is heavily wooded and very rough country. The Germans were confined to the limited road network which was the main reason the Americans could slow them down, by defending "bottlenecks" until reinforcements could be brought up. The battle was primarily an infantry battle with the armor supporting. What you see happen in the movie is more like what you would have seen on the Russian Front. If you want to see a good movie on the Ardennes fighting watch "Battleground" when it comes around on TV. It was made in the early fifties and is filled with cliches and was shot in a sound studio, but it gives you more of the real flavor of the Battle of the Bulge than this movie of the same name. I like watching the tanks move and shoot everything up but that was not how the real battle was except in rare occasions. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
5. If you still have the game file send it to Madmatt and let him see if it is a bug. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
6. What's the parameters of your system? I have a 450Mhz AMD 6k and I slow down when there are too many units or terrain features. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
7. I've tried for three days to get into this site without success. Any one know what is wrong and will it be fixed? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
8. My name for CM2.... "Red Inferno". ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
9. Why care what people on this forum think of your asking questions? If they don't like your question, they can skip to a different topic, and if you don't like their response to your question, ignore them. It's not like anyone can do anything to you as long as you don't let your feelings get hurt. Ask what you want and forget the ones who blast you for not doing a search. As for people being "members", that only reflects on how many times they post to this forum, not how much they know. If you want to you could be a member in one day if you talk enough. Use the forum for what it's supposed to be used for. To communicate your ideas and hear what others have to say. Stay within the rule of the forum and you'll be alright. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
10. Terrible Swift Sword was quite a wargame to start of with. I too bought the original edition and still have it as well as the second edition put out by TSR. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

12. You need a card with more than 16MBs of memory. I needed a 32MB Nvidia card to display fog. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
13. Don't hold your breath on this one as it would be tantamount to turning a solid terrain feature into water. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
14.
quote:
Originally posted by Wilhammer: I know its hollywood. And likely not true. Yeah, he sounded kind of funny on that field phone trying to full the German planted mike. He was turning down fictional replacements by reminding the fake command that we were "still fightin' the Japs" [This message has been edited by Wilhammer (edited 01-20-2001).]

We were still fighting the Japs. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
15. I think if you want deeper maps you have to give the QB more time length. Instead of a scenario of 20 minutes, give 30 or 40 minutes and see what you get. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

17.
quote:
Originally posted by GriffinCheng+: If you can't find it, I can email to you. You can find it in CMHQ Depot. If not, I am sending one to you. No spoilers but I have played as German against Allied AI, May be I got lucky I have a Major Victory at the first try. My comment would be : it is a good scenario to practise of using tanks in streets. Griffin.

It's a cool scenario if you play against the AI. My first time I got a minor victory against the AI as the German because I was too impetuous and got some of my tanks smoked by you know what. I'm not sure it would be good as a PBEM game for the American side but if the American could set up an unbreakable defense he would have bragging rights. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
18. Yes, It's at the CMHQ Scenario Depot. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

20. I thought it was at ASL2CM but I was wrong. It must be at the CMHQ Scenario Depot. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
21.
quote:
Originally posted by Fred: I checked the site, but no "Tanks in the street" scenario. Where have you found it?

You're right. I could'nt find either. It must be at the TGN Scenario Depot which is the only other place I get my sceanarios. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
22. I want to recommend to this forum this ASL scenario converted to CM. I've just played it against the AI as the German and enjoyed very much. You can find it at the ASL2CM site. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
23. I want to recommend to this forum this ASL scenario conversion from ASL2CM. I've just played it against the AI and it was a blast, in more ways than one. I recommend playing as the German vs. AI. It should also be interesting as a PBEM game. I remember playing it in ASL and, though a few changes were made in the CM version, it's just as fun. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
24. Whose building mods are you using? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
