  1. Hot damn! I've been waiting for this mod for eons Thanks, Kitty!
  2. Griffin, if you can still change your order to VHS Widescreen, you may want to do so. The DVD transfer of Cross of Iron is absolutely horrible. The VHS tape actually LOOKS BETTER than the DVD...belive it or not.
  3. Nothing wrong? NOTHING WRONG!!! You come on this board and, and....BAH...its useless to offer coherent reasons to why you are wrong as your limited intelligence could not comprehend it. BTS, please take up your hammer of justice and smite this...[CENSORED] [This message has been edited by WolfLord (edited 02-21-2001).]
  4. Whats is this? Your friendly local paladin and bastion of morality, WolfLord the Troll Slayer, leaves the the board for one or 2 days and vile corruption has erupted onto this board from the pustules of the cyber-shadowlands. Back, back!! Foul Demon!! BTW, where is the real Maximus to help in this exorcism ??? ??? Ahhh, there he is... [This message has been edited by WolfLord (edited 02-21-2001).]
  5. LOL, great post Joshik. Its about time someone acknowledged this great movie as Iv'e been recommending it for eons on this board Here's another recommendation...the 1956 WWII movie "Attack!". I know, I know...a 1950s American WWII flick. However, this one is definately NOT like the others as it is an extremely grim study of psychosis and vengence. The masterful Jack Palance plays the victimized American soldier seeking to avenge the deaths of his buddies due to a psychotic and inept Col. played by Eddie Albert ( a surprisingly awesome performance by him). As a bonus it has a fairly chilling "Panzer rolling over the GI" scene. BTW, this is the only American WWII flick of the time in which the US Army would NOT participate in its making. Nothing was glossed over and "glorified" in this one. [This message has been edited by WolfLord (edited 02-20-2001).]
  6. Four words: A Century of Warfare. This compilation from Talonsoft has it all...East Front, West Front, N. Africa, Pacific, and tons of modern battles/scenarios...hell, it even has a Cuba 1962 scenario depicting a hypothetical US invasion. I'm currently working on a very far-fetched "Red Dawn" (based on the movie) scenario in which the old Warsaw Pact has invaded the US from Mexico and Canada, splitting the country with one front located in the Rockies and one around the Mississippi River...good stuff. Anyway, ACOW is a great, expansive operational level wargame. My recommendation before this gets the 'ol padlock [This message has been edited by WolfLord (edited 02-16-2001).]
  7. I also ran a couple of tests concerning this last night with ver. 1.05 vs 1.12. Keep in mind that I use the term "grenade" to symbolise the close assault graphic. Regarding the "grenade tossing graphics"...in 1.05 when a "grenade" landed under/in the haltrack, an immediate KO resulted in all 15 tests. A near miss of the "grenade" would not result in a KO. However, in ver 1.12 "grenades" landing under/in a HT VERY RARELY resulted in a KO. It is also interesting to note that MG 42's and .30 Cal. MGs have become my "close assault" weapons of choice against HTs, as these weapons seem to be very effective against them in ver 1.12. Played a QB last night in which a MG 42 pillbox KO'ed 4 US HTs w/in 2 turns. Not sure if everyone else has noticed this but decided to post my findings anyway. BTS, aside from this small "anomalous behavior", I love the 1.12 patch...havent had this much fun w/ CM in awhile. Gotta love those random unrestricted battles for the sheer "weirdness" factor alone
  8. Heres my list of WWII Militaria gathering dust, the vast majority brought back from Europe by my grandad: 1 Waffen SS Helment (Original Markings intact) 1 Waffen SS Camo Smock (Original and in good shape) 1 German Gas Mask w/ Canister 1 Waffen SS Gun Belt along w/ the rare buckle. 1 Panzer Army Enlisted Man's M43 cap (black) w/ insignia still present. 1 SS Camo M43 cap...no insignia 1 Iron Cross (in decent condition) 1 Kar98 Mauser w/ Bayonet 3 US WWII vintage Helments w/ netting on one 2 US Bayonets 2 US WWII pistol Belts w/ Colt M1911 in one (Nice!) 1 US M1 carbine (Paratroop Model)...this has to be my favorite piece.
  9. Thanks for the report on the 6.50 drivers. I heard one or two rumors reporting a lower 3D Mark score, but its the FPS in CMBO and other Direct 3D games I was most interested in. I will install the new drivers tonight.
  10. Has anyone tried the new official Detonator 3 6.50 drivers on a Win98 system? If so, are there any apparent problems with CM resulting from the new drivers? Speed increases/decreases from 6.31? Graphic artifacts...etc.?
  11. First and last bump for the 3dfx owners who missed this the first time around.
  12. When Trumpets Fade is not a bad movie at all. As a matter of fact, its sheer atmosphere surpasses that of Saving Private Ryan. Around 3 American divisions got completely ground up in the Hurtgen Forest and this movie does a decent job of conveying the confusion and bloodiness of that battle. The movie is definately worth watching. BTW, check out Cross of Iron also for a great Russian Front movie besides Stalingrad.
  13. Wow! some good stuff in the upcoming patch. Many thanks, BTS!
  14. Ouch! That's an odd AA effect, Tiger. I didnt bother to test the new drivers on my Voodoo 3 machine...just thought someone may benefit from the heads up on new release. I run a Geforce 2 Ultra on my main machine now. I very much recommend this card as I have had NO problems with it. Specs: PIII 800; 128Meg RAM; 64Meg on the card...CM is extremely smooth at 1600x1200 with high res grass/terrain/buildings and most of your vehicle mods
