Is there a need for the Pershing to have a winter mod since the Pershing came into the theater in February of 45 and saw combat in March of the same year? Hardly a reason to paint the things at the end of the winter, best to leave them as is. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

Is the whole TGN site gone? Did you know something like this was going to happen or have a premonition of this? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

The TGN Scenario Depot is gone for other games as well, not just CM. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

I don't know if any of you noticed it, but the magazine, PC Gamer has chosen CM the best turn based game, not wargame, of the year. Quite an honor. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

Go over to the RD Ladder and sign up. You have to play three games before you're in the ladder but everyone is easy going and friendly and you can challenge people from different experience levels. The address is, www.Rugged-Defense.nl/cm/cm.htm ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. I'm wondering why someone could'nt do a rubble tile with partial walls standing where you can see through the rest of the rubble tile like the bridge tiles? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. -
You can use the mods in the demo, but not the scenarios. I know it's hard to wait but go back and play the demo to hone your skills so you will kick butt when the game comes. Join the RD Ladder so we can have fresh blood. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

WWII TV Show--Could It Be Done?
Wayne replied to Col Deadmarsh's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Any of you old-timers remember "Twelve O'Clock High"? It ran consecutive with "Combat" and, if I remember correctly, what killed those two shows was the public backlash against the Vietnam War. There was another one that was a comedy called "Mr Roberts" after the famous film, it died from the same syndrome. I think a miniseries would be a possibility as long as an anti-war theme played out in the stories. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. -
On your first question; I too had problems with a jerky picture but after updating my video card this smoothed out. I have a processor of similar speed and power and I can run the game but large and huge scenarios are slow for me. Do a search on video cards to find the pros and cons of each type. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

How effective was a German Artillery Batterie?
Wayne replied to The Adder's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
As far as the time it took for a battery to occupy a position and lay the battery, don't forget that in WWII most German artillery was horse drawn so it probably took longer to move the guns around. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. -

People are always going to commit evil acts in the name of some cause whether they call themselves neo-nazis or something else. Evil has many faces and as long as men are evil they will do these things. Don't ever stop speaking out against this wrong no matter who shouts you down. Because we play a war-game that depicts the German military in WWII does'nt mean we all condone the act you describe. We must remember to love one another as we would like to be loved. If we each do our part we can overcome evil with good. Don't ever hate because of what someone else does because then you become one of them. God bless. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

Since the Pershing tank did'nt appear in Europe until February, 1945, I'm wondering if they even had a winter camo scheme. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. [This message has been edited by Wayne (edited 01-30-2001).]

Anyone try "Combat Command 2"?
Wayne replied to Aacooper's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
You're right, I was thinking of "Close Combat". Sorry for the mistake. Could someone tell me the difference between "Combat Command" and "Operational Art of War"? ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. Anyone try "Combat Command 2"?
Wayne replied to Aacooper's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I have'nt tried the full game because I was dissappointed in the demos, 1 and 5. Most people who have played CM for any length of time are going to prefer it to CC. CC greatest weakness is that you can't interact with the units once you start the game. In CM you can issue orders and change events. In CC events happen randomly and you can't change anything once you start the game. CC may have been good for it's time but I think it's outdated by more recent games, even Talonsoft's Campaign Series is better than CC. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. -
When Hollywood makes a war film and calls it "Battle of the Bulge", I think they have a responcibility to try and tell the story as truthfully as possible. In this film, this was'nt done. It's a matter of respect for the men who fought in this action to be as accurate as they can be. I don't expect them to get every detail right as to the vehicles being right or the uniforms exact, but they should tell the story as it happened and not make up a bunch of nonsense just to add excitement. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
