  1. One thing that got be to buy CMx1 when I played the demo was the artillery. I remember very distinctly how "scary" is was to get down to ground level and feel those shells hit the ground. For some reason, I don't get the same kind of impact from the CMx2 engine. ...just my $0.02
  2. Just wanted to add to this. Looks like if I cancel the save at the beginning of training mission #3, the game won't crash. If I select save, the game crashes 100% of the time. Missions #1 and #2 did not show this behavior and I was able to save them without a crash.
  3. I was the one that originally had the resolution issue. I was still having it until I saw this thread. I can confirm that in order for the in game resolution to work, you MUST have your desktop set to 32 bit color. After I did that, I was able to set resolution without an issue. Of course, you need to restart the game after you change the resolution. AA, and AF you need to set from your desktop as well if you want those. ...hope this helps
  4. Am able to get through training missions 1 and 2 without an issue. When the game saves and then loads training mission #3 (Fire Support Training), the application crashes to desktop. 5. Hey All, Liking the game so far, but for some reason the resolution of the game is "stuck" at 1024X768. No matter what resolution I change it to (from ingame or the text file), it seems to not switch over to the configured resolution. Same goes with Anti-Aliasing and other graphical settings. ...anyone else see this or have any solutions?
  6. hey all, can the experts out there recommend some good scenarios for a newbie to the game (with only demo experience). I'm like combined arms and something from small to medium for now (find the huge battles a bit overwhelming at this point in my CM career). thanx
  7. Wow...thanx for the outlook guys. Actually, I have a wife, a 8 week old daughter, 1 dog and 2 cats...guess I should find another home for them I've already looked at some of DDs mods in the demo...sweeeet. As well as some of the uniform/vehicle mods, explotions etc. Very nice. I'm just sick of kicking the AIs butt in VoT and Chance Encounter...also want to see some bridge crossings and new terrain. Looking forward to getting it...
  8. Man...I keep hearing the Final Jeopardy song every time I think about my order finally arriving. The demo can only hold me over for so long...its been 10 days and still no CM. <sigh> <whimper>
  9. wow...a whole 3 minutes for that question to be answered...thanx all.
  10. Hey All, I'm playing the demo (Valley of Trouble...and yes I've ordered the game), and I'm having a bit of a problem with my Shermans when I try to go Hulldown on that anti-tank bunker. They seem to target the bunker, get a shot off, the bunker notices them...they then spit smoke and back-off the target. Sometimes, they disengage even when they are not detected and have a clear shot....what gives? Any suggestions. Thanx
