  1. If the observer dies, the rest of the team can't do the job. Some teams have two marked observers, but most don't.
  2. Any modern war game is going to feature lopsided equipment lists. NATO has a huge variety of vehicles and weapon systems, but Russia just has Russia's. And pretty much any enemy force (besides China's) will just be using older Russian kit.
  3. I believe that BTS has hinted that they're planning to return to modern warfare in an arid environment with a remade Shock Force (or something like it). Obviously this wouldn't be a module but a separate game. There has been some discussion of what people might like here.
  4. It has always been said that medics and litter bearers are presumed to be present on the CM battlefield, but they are invisibly abstracted. BTS didn't want to impose a probably tedious "minigame" involving the transport of casualties. Buddy aid for a wounded soldier doesn't necessarily represent actual binding of wounds; it can simply be the time required to contact an actual medic and get them to the location. Obviously this isn't always what's going on (buddy aid for surrounded soldiers, for instance), but it's a decent approximation.
  5. Well, it's gotta be said: ASL scenarios have a full OOB list right there on the scenario card. WHEN, STEVE, WHEN??
  6. Thank you again for the wonderful work! It really enhances the game.
  7. Excellent news! Thanks. More updates and more often, please! We love them here.
  8. This. While fast-moving jets might attack coordinates in a strike far from friendly units, there is simply no way that they would be allowed to attack targets near friendly lines without a spotter on the ground clearing them for the strike.
  9. Different games. CMBB allows larger battles and includes a greater variety of units, but it's all done at a much more abstract level. CMRT happens on a smaller scale but with much more granularity. This applies to everything in the game: vehicle modeling, landscape, ballistics, and especially AI. Just look at an infantry squad in each game, for example. In CMBB the squad is a blob with hit points. In CMRT it's modeled as individual men behaving individually.
  10. Bunkers are all full of booze and porn. They'll burn like a backyard grill.
  11. The good thing about the original setting is that it plausibly allowed both conventional warfare (albeit interestingly unbalanced) and counter-guerilla scenarios. It offered a pretty wide mix of possibilities. Restricting the next game to a war against ISIS or an Afghanistan-style COIN situation would limit those possibilities pretty drastically. I'd like to see the Syria scenario (with its original alternative history intact) but updated by a few years. It could even be tied into the Black Sea timeline: If the fundamentalist Syria regime makes its move while the conflict in Ukraine is in full swing, US/NATO forces would be spread thin dealing with simultaneous crises. No Desert-Storm-style steamroller would be possible at first, so the operational situation wouldn't be quite so lopsided. I like thinking of CMx2's World War 3 as a series of moderate-scale crises erupting concurrently in different areas of the world. It helps to make tactical gaming meaningful (as no side anywhere is opting for total or nuclear war), and it sets up for new games in new settings.
  12. I can verify that icons will disappear before a unit is totally eliminated. I've just been bushwacked in PBEM by a unit I thought I had killed off. The icon seems to disappear when all units that have been previously spotted are seen to be hit. If there are soldiers who were never spotted in the first place, the icon won't persist to represent them.
  13. If you're asking for slightly better vehicle AI, then, yes, we all want that. If you're actually asking for MP traffic controllers, that seems like something that would be happening a few miles behind the battle we're actually fighting. It's outside the scope of a tactical battle simulator.
  14. I have all of the ones on the OP list, plus these: Saving Private Ryan Sie Kommen II Shimi's March I got them either at the repository, GreenAsJade's, or the Few Good Men site.
  15. Aris' work on WW2 is amazing, and Kieme's work on CMBS is equally so.
  16. Fact: no WW2 soldier of any nation every went *around* a winery.
  17. The traditional method is to slap a "z" on the front of any mod folder you want loaded over others.
  18. Yes. Vineyards are wire fences with vines growing on them. They aren't just a row of plants.
  19. Yes, thanks very much! These mods have added a whole new level of Wow to the look of the game.
