  1. Guys - Try disabling the opening movie when firing up the game. Press the Shift key during launch of the game and see if that changes anything you're seeing. It should disable the intro movie until you delete the Prefs file. Deleting/moving the movie itself also disables its playback without problem.
  2. The above mentioned battle will not play in my system. Severe mouse lags, and scrolling that takes forever if at all. Version 2 however plays great...as do other battles I am currently engaged in. I do have the latest patch and the latest drivers for the GeForce 6200. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this weird problem.
  3. Must have been someting I did. I haven't seen the problem again.
  4. I am having no problem with the maps - I haven't heard of this problem before.
  5. My Nvidia control panel does not give me a triple buffering option - could be I am using a GeForce 6200 - however my BF splash screen plays as a mass of green pixels. Game plays fine though. This is after the 1.04 patch. Played fine with the 1.03 patch. I had already loaded the latest drivers from nvidia prior to installing version 1.04.
  6. In starting a pbem game I received a file from my opponent labeled "hammertime v1". I loaded the file set my password and it asked to save it as "hammertime v1 002". I clicked save. When sending the file to my opponent it actually saved the file as "hammertime v1" in the output folder. It left off the 002. Has anyone else noticed this? It was working correctly in version 1.03. We both have upgraded to version 1.04.
  7. As one who is familiar with Wal-Mart buying practices - it's impossible for any company to compete with the buying power of Wal-Mart. They used to be a sponsor of a TV show I worked on a few years ago and I got an inside look at how they operate. By buying from BFC you support them and the money goes to making improvements and future products. You buy from Wal-mart and the money goes to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart no doubt bought directly from Paradox. If BFC sees any of that money I'd be quite surprised.
  8. Sudo - Don't know. Perhaps. The good thing is the game is now running!
  9. Holding down the shift key did the trick!!! I am back up and running CMBO! Thanks for your help Schrullenhaft. The intro movie was definately the problem.
  10. Schrullenhaft - Tried the suggestion - nothing worked until I got all the way to the left - it then came up. However the game intro screen was only occupying the top left quandrant of my monitor, (squeezed but proportioned properly) - the rest of the desktop was grayed out. When clicking the space bar it went to a black screen - music was playing but no menu buttons could be seen. I have a jpeg if you need to see it. Per Madmatt's suggestions in the FAQ file concerning nvidia cards - I tried turning off anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering but that didn't work either.
  11. Schrullenhaft - Thanks - I will give your suggestion a try (ie control panel). I will let you know what happens.
  12. Someone has to have an idea....anyone? I don't want to let this game go by the wayside... :-(
  13. Philippe I have a CD Read Only and A DVD RW. I do have the original BFC issue of the CD. I figure as long as the drive lettering remains the same it should be able to read the disk... What I may do is try it in Win98 compatibility mode and put the cd in the DVD RW drive it may read it from that... Who knows -- it may work. 9/14/07 - it didn't work. 14. Sudowudo - I tried the suggestions listed by MadMatt on the Tech support page and none of those worked. I turned off anti-aliasing, looked for the hotfix but I am not unable to remove it from my system. I've already done a reinstall. I do not know if it is a driver issue - I can start the game in Win98 compatibility mode and it fires up but then it cannot find the CD even though the CD is being read by OS.
  15. Philippe - Thanks for the idea but I have already tried that to no avail. I even tried reducing my desktop to 640 x 480 and to see if that would help - no go. This one has me stumped.
  16. First - I am using WIN XP with the latest updates and using a GeForce 6200 with latest drivers (not beta). I am able to play CMBB, CMAK and CMSF with no problem. I have an odd problem - I haven't played CMBO in awhile so when trying to get a game going I get a blank screen once I choose a resolution - CMBO goes to a black screen then, after a few seconds, dumps out with an error message from Windows (encountered an error). I tried numerous combos with the same result. I tried setting the cmbo exe file to Windows 98 combatibility mode and am able to get to the main screen - but then it can't read the disk in the cd drive! I double checked to make sure that Windows is seeing the CD and it is. If it's a driver issue I will have to just forget about playing CMBO since I don't want to risk screwing up my other games that work just fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem?
  17. Looking forward to the fixes! Metalbrew, send me your pbem file - we need to start rockin' and rollin!
  18. WEGO for me. I am having a hard time getting used to the new camera commands and interface...and I just don't have the time for RT. Playing via WEGO allows me to learn the new aspects of the game at my own pace.
  19. I got an email today stating that a package has been shipped. The only thing I can think of that can be on it's way is CMSF. I've ordered nothing else.
  20. Was the campaign started with version 1.01 and then tried to load after installing patch for version 1.02? It affected the PBEM games (ie can't load) - it may affect campaigns also.
