  1. Bartbert, That worked! If I run into the problem again I'll clear out the temp files. I usually do that once a week anyway with files but not cookies.
  2. Dan, I am sent what my user name and password is, including verification code.
  3. Update: I go here to log in: http://www.downinflamesonline.com/Default.aspx?tabid=31 I enter my correct name and password and end up here: http://www.downinflamesonline.com/Default.aspx?tabid=1 I enter my name and password in the above page and it ends up back at the same page. I do not get an error message which states that I entered in the wrong name or password, no login error message. I have not been able for the life of me to figure out why. I can access the site through the lobby once I log in there. However there are times I'd like to get to the site without going through the lobby. Anybody have any suggestions? I have done all I can think of on my end. [ October 08, 2005, 01:48 PM: Message edited by: Frenchy ]
  4. I do not know if these are possible but a few suggestions. Suggestions assume one is on-line. 1. Right click option - players name to get a quick average of his rating. It will give other players a quick way of seeing who they can play based on their rating. 2. Right click option - send an invite to play to a player...I spend a lot of time begging for someone to play finding out we can't due to ratings not being close enough to do so. 3. While DIF shows someone is gaming you can't tell who is in a dogfight or in a campaign. Maybe keep DIF for dogfight and CAM for campaign. That way you have a quick reference as to who may be available for a 1v1 or 2v2.

  6. I was able to log in the site through my laptop. I obvisouly have a setting in IE on my PC that is preventing me from logging in to the site. I'll have to do some investigating... Monday evening: After spending more than three hours tonight tinkering with the settings I could not get into the site through IE on my PC. This one has me stumped. 7. Bartbert: That was me a while back. Here's what I have been able to determine: I can get into the DIF website through the Lobby, since I am already logged in. Everything works as advertised. It seems where I am having a problem is going to the website w/o going through the lobby or after I log out after a few games. When entering my usr and pswd at either link on the DIF site it just doesn't recognize it. I just tried it a few minutes ago and it did not work. FYI - I am using IE with latest updates on Windows XP2 with latest tweaks.
  8. Unable to log in the website - usr name and paswd does not seem to be recognized. It doesn't matter if I use the login link on the right or the account login on the left. I can log in to play the game without a problem. Do I have to re-register for the full version?
  9. Tom, Technically I am a baby boomer also (on the late end). I am actively involved with the 70th Infantry Division Association. I have worked on their website for nearly 10 years. At their reunion last year the gave me the Outstanding Trailblazer Award for service to their organization. My grandfather who served as the combat engineer served with them. He was drafted at age 31 in 1944. He arrived in France in Jan 45 and saw action in France and later Germany. If you haven't done so check out the site I maintain for them.
  10. For a lot of us that play the CM series it gets personal. My mother is French and lived four years of childhood under Nazi occupation. My grandfather on my father's side served as a combat engineer in the US Army. My step-grandfather served with the 33rd ID in the Pacific, seeing action in New Guinea and the Philippines. A great uncle served in the Navy on destroyers in the Pacific. A great aunt served at the Pentagon. I owe a lot to them and the others who served. So I read, do what I can to keep the memory of those that served alive. I once started a topic which asked how many players had relatives that served. Got quite a response. I couldn't find it using the search feature. I did print it out and have it saved at home. [ September 25, 2005, 06:31 PM: Message edited by: Frenchy ]
  11. The fire team concept has its roots based on Marine actions during the 1920s and 30s. It was adopted by Marine Divisions in 1944 (I do know it was used in 1945 on Okinawa by the series G division) and has stayed with the Marines since. just saw all this, very informative. Now to leap to conclutions. The above quote would indicate a post-WW2 conflict. I believe the fire team concept was developed by the DOD(W really) because those post war psyc studies found that the majority of morale came from that 4-5 immediate comrades level. </font>
  12. I have always wanted a Pacific Theater for the CM series. I am hoping a module can be made for the next series. Time will tell.
  13. Things I would like to see implemented/changed: 1. Ability to recrew weapons (especially AT guns) if guns are not knocked out. 2. Better implementation of artillery...especially ability to ask for TOT. 3. Tweaking of air support and ability to direct A/C with ground spotters. 4. Follow Road command 5. Able to set depth of creeks/rivers and rate of flow. This would affect what type of units can cross rivers/creeks and at what speed. Please Keep: 1. WeGo system 2. PBEM 3. TCP/IP Play 4. Ability to Mod grahics 5. Realism options
  14. Well- this time I logged in to the lobby and decided to go to the DIF page. I did and I was already logged in...I guess because I logged in to the lobby. This was through my PC.
  15. Guys - I just logged in via my laptop. Looks like there is something preventing me from logging in on my PC...
  16. Bartbert, No proxy server. Just trying to get to standing of pilots. I am getting no error messages. It just simply comes back to the login page.
  17. Moon, Tried refreshing after log-in and it does no good.
  18. Moon, It simply reverts back to the non-logged in page. I have cleaned out my cache several times to no avail. Haven't tried refreshing the page. I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
  19. Moon, Just tried what you suggested and I am still not able to log in to the DIF site. I am able to log in to the DIF lobby without a problem. I am making sure that I am logged out of the lobby before I try logging in to the site.
  20. Unable to log in to DIF site with my user name and password. This time I made sure I was logged out of the game. Been going on last couple of days. It keeps asking me to log in each time I try to do so.
  21. I know I an't the first to order but it looks like I am the first to post to say I did!
  22. Have you registered at the DIF main site and received a verification code? http://www.downinflamesonline.com/
  23. Sarre-Union (Sarreguemines) Area map is now posted. This completes the four maps dated Dec 1944 in 1:50,000 scale. http://www.files.trailblazersww2.org/Maps/forbachmap/forbachmaps.htm#Sarreguimines%20Area
  24. Disregard my last post - I got on through the DIF lobby.
  25. Moon: For some reason I could not log in to the DIF page. It is not accepting my usr name and password.
