  1. I will give the demo a try but my reflexes ain't what they used to be. I admit that the game looks nice; however, for me, managing every unit in the game in real time is a bit daunting. It's why I have stayed away from them. I prefer having time to plot my moves.
  2. 49...approaching 50 in a few months...
  3. Another option I would like to see is playing battles that don't have anyhting to do with building your pilot skills you: 1) Pick your theater 2) Pick your pilots (skills are random) 3) Pick your planes 4) Play and have fun! Just good ol' dogfight....without having to worry about losing a pilot you've taken months to build. I guess you could call them user generated battles... Steve
  4. I'll have to give these a try - will an announcement be made when the 1848 freebie will be available?
  5. Are both of you patched to the same version?
  6. I believe I participated in Rows III and V; could have been II and V. Just want to make sure I am listed for a possible slot.
  7. Gents - check out these pictures! http://www.anicursor.com/colpicwar.html Of interest is the M26 and the sequence of photos showing a Panther knocked out. One photo shows a crewman? escaping in background just before the tank brews. More pics here: http://www.phil-deriggi.com/john_1.htm
  8. Providing I find a full time job (been unemployed 15 months; been making ends meet doing part time stuff) I'll play.
  9. We posted at the same time. It works now.
  10. The game is not allowing me to create an on-line game to play 1v1. No error log was generated. I do have a screen shot of the error message if you need it. It seems to think I want to join a game when I want to create one. Disregard - it's working now. That was an odd occurance for me. [ March 25, 2006, 10:50 AM: Message edited by: Frenchy ]
  11. Is it me or are the number of players declining? Last several days I've logged on to play seems only 3 to 4 players are logged in. Can't get a 1 on 1 going when most seem to be playing campaigns. I prefer dogfights against live opponents. In my case it's harder to get a fight going for lack of players.
  12. I'll play if you are still interested. I prefer 25 - 35 game turns, no more that 1500 points and no mixed forces (ie Gaermany army and SS or American Army and Airborne...) Email address in profile.
  13. Not to mention declining pilot quality...
  14. Pick up Dick Winter's book "Beyond Band of Brothers" and read his take on SLA Marshal. An excerpt also is in the latest issue of WW II History magazine.
  15. Bartbert, just experienced an error with the latest update. I have a screen capture and can get you the error log. I will send it via email. Occurred while responding to my opponent's card.
  16. Where do I find the serial number on the version 1 CD I purchased when it comes time to register the product? Also, has a price been set for the expansion pack?
  17. Covers all games and maps are downloadable: http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/maps/wwii/
  18. Dan - no idea why. I've noticed that also in my readings. Perhaps if any of our players are Polish they can clue us in.
  19. Dan, Sending you a file which contains data on each. You may already have info. Steve
  20. The Navy did not use the Corsair because they thought it was inadequate for carrier ops. So they gave it to the Marines to use. The Marines used it to good advantage in ground support operations and air cover. And they showed the Navy it could be used on carrier ops. Performance depends on model but believe the Hellcat could take a bit more punishment. This of course is subjective. They both were good planes and the Japanese respected both. To exclude a plane because a plane that is already in the game performs nearly the same I think is a poor excuse. While I realize that it is more work on your end to code and draw the graphics, for us "historical minded" players that want to see a more historical head to head match up by period, I think it essential that the Corsair be included. Marine Corps ace Pappy Boyington got the majority of his kills flying Corsairs with VMF-214, the "Black Sheep" squadron.
  21. If you have to use Hotmail...always zip the file. It will then come as an attachment. Sending the txt file as is does no good.
