  1. Wiggum - not sure what you mean...there are several pdf files which identify the symbols as well as usage.
  2. No problem - I have been having fun with it. I am in the process of redoing a bunch of maps on my trailblazersww2.org site.
  3. Wiggum - I do not believe it is in German - English only.
  4. Great tool for making reports, briefings, or just to have fun - MILSketch And it's free!
  5. Paper Tiger - Once I viewed the demo video on the description page it was a snap. Much better than the simple manual.
  6. Posted the below link in the Shock Force Forum but thought it should go here also - it's a great tool! And free!!! MILSketch
  7. Discovered this link for a free download called MILSketch - which allows one to really add to your AARs. I just played with it and it is fantastic! Be sure to view the demo video to get an idea on how it works. It's better than the simple manual. It's on the description page. Downloads - Look for MILSketch And here's a link to a description - MILSketch Description [ January 24, 2008, 07:32 PM: Message edited by: Frenchy ]
  8. Just thought I'd at least get the date a bit current - I've given up on this one.
  9. Ahhh - Vista -- well that could be the culprit for the CM1 type games. I am still using XP so all mine work just great. I will not be changing over to Vista anytime soon. Not many programs that worked well in XP will run in Vista. My dad had a heck of time with it. Ended buying new software that could run with Vista. As for CMSF and Vista and I can't help you with any ideas.
  10. I haven't had this problem. Troops dismbark just fine for me. Sorry can't help you there nor support your claim.
  11. That would be acceptable to me - just played a small battle from CMMODs just to try out v1.05. I must say I like what I see so far. I haven't got deep into it yet but it is looking good. The pathfinding issue is what I saw that may still need tweaking. I had a Bradley that was stopped so I decided to reverse, face a different direction - then move forward. Instead it went forward and around a building then stopped - facing in the opposite direction of what I wanted. Thankfully no enemy in sight to blast away at it! Why that happened I do not know. Being able to program the idea below I think is a great idea for slower movement.
  12. Steve - Looking forward to the next patch. Hoping that QBs see some improvement.
  13. Steiner - Nice work on the map! Looks very good even if a work in progress!!!
  14. Madmatt - Thanks for the answer - will await the patch.
  15. My big disappointment for CMSF is as follows. I will not consider RT - since I have no inclination of playing the game that way. I play the game via PBEM - it's all I have time for. 1. Lack of scenarios - like Conte who posted previously - I just don't have the time to tackle the editor. 2. Broken QB System - it seems this was added as an afterthought with no adequate playtesting of this section. It certainly needs a big overhaul to make it work. 3. Lack of ability to pick own troops as in the CM1 series during QB play. I will not give up on the game yet - I certainly hope that BFC will address the QB shortcomings with the upcoming 1.05 patch. I don't think we can fully blame BFC for all the problems in the game. I believe they were contract bound to release the game by "x" date - even though they tried to delay it...they ran out of time. I believe a post by BFC stated this early on after the game was released. After some of the heated comments posted on this board and some of the heated replies - I am not surprised that they have backed off. They weren't going anywhere, neither side apparently not wanting to "listen" to the other. In the end it's frustrating for all who have played the CM games from day one and perhaps for those that also programmed and worked on the game. I guess "when they are ready" we'll hear a response.
  16. RobH, It very well could be - I wonder if the marshland has something to do with it in this situation, ie "guys getting stuck"?
  17. I have to say that this was the first time this has happened. Awaiting my opponent's turn to see if it crops back up on my move. [ November 09, 2007, 04:27 AM: Message edited by: Frenchy ]
  18. No I did not - just a quick move along the road in the trees.
  19. This occured today in a pbem game I have going. The troop icon is away from my troops - I have an enemy unit spotted but can't shoot. Belive spotting is occurring where troops are but firing line coming from icon....has anyone else seen this? I did not split troops. Zoomed in close and did not see squad split...
  20. Sound of wind blowing through the forum...tumbleweeds roll...
  21. I did download the maps - how can I select one to use in a quick battle? The way I see it I have no choice - the map is chosen automatically based on the parameters I select.
  22. I am finding that this feature is still pretty much unplayable. I keep trying in various combinations but find that: Cannot deploy troops just move during set up (happens in most cases not all). Cannot see deployment areas - if they exist. The screen prior to deploying troops is worhtless since it offers no information other than "commander's intent". A synopsis of the parameters as a reminder would be nice. I've even tried using the user created maps but it doesn't seem to help. Has there been any work or will there be any time spent in improving the QB part of the program? I thoroughly enjoyed the QB in the previous versions of CM1 - having this feature in CM2 in its current condition is a disappointment.
