  1. Doh! I seem to remeber this from the CM1 days - in any case to late for me. I'll just start over with my games.
  2. Unable to load version 1.01 pbem files with version 1.02. For me system hangs around 55% in attempting to load. Anyone else see this problem?
  3. Budge4, I agree with you about nVidia - they should have been a bit more obvious about it. Thanks for the comments on the websites. The Trailblazer site is my labor of love. Plenty there to see!
  4. GDog - AFAIK - yes you do - I've learned to keep it simple.
  5. USMC, Sgt. (E-5), 1975 - 1979, VMFA-251, MOS 6636 (aircraft electrician on F-4 Phantom II's). Good Conduct Medal, Two Meritorious Promotions, Marine of the Month-FMFPAC during 77-78 tour at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
  6. Budge - Thanks I will give that a try! Steve
  7. FYI - I have a 4+ year old system running at 1.2 Ghz with 512 Megs of ram. My Geforce 6200 has 128 megs of ram. Usng Windows XP with latest updates. The game runs fine for me albeit without the high end graphics. I recently updated to the 162 version of the drivers. Games appears to run fine (have 2 pbem games going) - not interested in multiplay or RT. They only problem I have now is that I cannot open the nVidia Control panel - nothing. I'd like to tweak some settings but can't. Anybody else in CMSF community have this problem? I have put in a work request to nVidia but so far no response. In checking their forum it appears I am not the only one experiencing this problem.
  8. metalbrew - Thanks for the clarification...in any case a problem exists. I guess we can do a small canned battle if you'd like or retry the QB.
  9. I am currently playing 2 quick battles via pbem - one I am the attacker, the other a defender. In both cases the attacking units did not appear in a set up zone to set up units and hence we could not get them to set up - we could only plot moves? Defender units did appear in a set up zone and could be set up. Is this normal? Attacking units in both cases seemed to be clumped together in a corner. Seems odd I cannot deploy attacking units versus a pbem opponent. Playing agains the AI I could.
  10. Funkster - I am using a Dell 4550 bought 4 years ago with 512 megs of ram with a GeForce 6200 and a 1.8 Ghz intel processor. Game plays fine on my system albeit without the highend look of the graphics. I don't care about that...I want it to work. Granted there are a few quirks and the other CM games had them also and BFC addressed as many as they could. BFC will address them in this game also. The manual in my opinion left a lot to be desired as to how set up works and the lack of an explanation of how the pbem system now works. As far as I know every computer game that has been released falls into in your description above. It's a double-edged sword: do we blame developers or a lack of a common standard in the computing industry -- much like there is in the TV industry when it comes to broadcasting?
  11. At set up all my units are outside a set up zone - I can't place them - only thing I can do do is a move order - Can't set up units? I have to agree with the above poster - no explanation on how to set up nor any explanation of how the pbem works (had to discover the incoming and outgoing folder).
  12. What page in the maunal is this explained? I could not find it.
  13. Guys - Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a go. This game will take me a bit of time to get used to.
  14. How does one do that? Couldn't really find an explanation in the PDF manual. I was trying a quick battle against the AI in order to familiarize myself with the game before going head to head - just couldn't figure out how to do it. Can someone explain it to me? Or give me a page number in the manual that does explain it in case I am a complete dumb ass and missed it! Thanks.
  15. Ordered! Noticed the download link is active on my email receipt...can we download now? I think I know the answer - needed to ask anyway.
  16. The above unit, along with the 10th SS Panzer, 7th Parachute, the 384th and 667th Assault Gun Brigades, participated in an attack during the Nordwind offensive in January 1945 (the 16th to be exact). Does anyone know the OoB of the Escort battalion...was it infantry? armor? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  17. Can anyone tell me the OoB of the German 7th Parachute Division at the time it was committed to Operation Nordwind in Jan 1945? Thanks in advance. Disregard - I found my answer. [ January 21, 2007, 09:46 AM: Message edited by: Frenchy ]
