  1. It's pretty frustrating not to be able to shoot with bursts in my hand and I am tailing the guy 3 out of 6 turns. Granted they were low point planes but you know what, I don't care what kind of weapons I have, I'll shoot at a guys tail. I may miss but I'll shoot. One dumb question...must IMS cards be purchased? Or are they drawn during course of play? All I ever got were burst cards. Didn't see one IMS card. I think if a plane has an advantage on another he ought to be able to get a burst out no matter what his rating... I don't get to play often so it's taking me some time accumulate points and climb up the ladder. Also as a suggestion, right now there is dogfight and escort when setting up fights. I'd like to see a third, titled "historical". This would allow planes that actually faced each other in the proper theater to fight each other. Basically it would eliminate the US vs US or US vs Allied fights. Same with the axis pairings. As it stands now you don't know who or what you will face in a battle. Right now the game just has a "free for all" type feeling...don't get me wrong. I enjoy the game but feel a bit of the "history", other than the planes themselves, has been left out. Campaigns are historical...why not dogfights? Anyway, signing off. [ January 22, 2006, 05:51 PM: Message edited by: Frenchy ]
  2. Looking forward to the new changes. Certainly will makes things feel a bit different...especially on the receiving end!
  3. I found this thread concerning ATI Radeon cards and fog in Thief II. Maybe it will work in Combat Mission? http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75031
  4. Jeez - well at least I wasn't last on the totem pole....
  5. Dan, Thanks! I'll have to change it as new nationalities are added!
  6. I have created a new splash screen for those that may want to change the current one. It can be downloaded here: http://www.smallwebsolutions.net/splash.jpg Be sure to rename your current splash screen. Then download the new one into the DIF misc folder. 7. Keith Bonn, author of "Ordeal in the Vosges" and owner of Aberjona Press, passed away 2 days ago from a heart attack. I knew Keith well. His company over the years has put out some fine books on World War II. Roger Freeman, noted Eighth Air Force historian and author of many books on the subject passed away in October 2005. I apologize in advance if this has already been mentioned.
  8. Ok. I still have mine so getting them uploaded will not be a problem.
  9. Looks like they have given up keeping the B&T site up to date.
  10. Excellent work. Will you need files from authors or were you able to get them from the old Scenario Depot?
  11. Giving this a bump...any updates on this one? Been a while since anything has been posted.
  12. Finished my first attempt at the Midway campaign. It was a costly campaign for both but I managed a 16 to 14 victory as the Allies. It was fun to play.
  13. No disconnects on my end. And I also downloaded the latest update to .net framework.
  14. Steve: Thanks for this update. I wonder what other surprises are in store fo us players?!

I did..."The Final Countdown" with Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen and James Farentino. Around this place we have a saying - the longer the job title the shorter the salary! anyone else see that movie from the 80's where the nuke carrier went back in time to 1941 and F-14's shot down zero's?? </font>
  16. "By working in tandem with the award winning Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin game engine, Combat Mission Campaigns allow you to command your troops at the operational level and then play out the resulting battles at the tactical level. CMBB and CMC actually share information back and forth so the disposition and status of troops, experience, fatigue, supply, terrain, weather, time of day and more are seamlessly integrated into both games. Plan your strategies, issue orders and deploy your maneuver units in a dynamic 3D isometric map and when units close to engagement ranges, CMC actually creates the battles (unit positions, status, weather, time of day etc...) to then be played in CMBB. Once the tactical battle is finished, CMBB then sends the results back to CMC and play is continued at the Operational level." I guess we won't have to swap CDs but once: one time for CMC and once for CMBB when a tactical battle needs to be played, and then keep both games running...? Looks like I will be spending a few bucks with BFC in the coming year or years. I do hope that if this is successful we get a version for CMBO and CMAK. 17. Ray - I do but It would take a lot surpass my limit. I just checked it and it came up fine. If you still are having problems let me know and I will email you a copy.
  18. I have added a link for those that want to download the mod. Be sure to back up the graphic notepaperB.jpg, located in the DIF/images/misc folder, before doing anything. Once that is done, download the mod located here: http://www.smallwebsolutions.net/images/notepaperB.jpg Right click the image and click save picture as and put it in the DIF/images/misc folder. That should do it.
  19. Send me the wings or point me where I can find them and I'll do them!
  20. I had to get rid of my cookies. That did the trick for me.
  21. I have come up with a replacement for the notepaper look where on line players are listed. Here's a link to take a look. http://www.smallwebsolutions.net/images/testpanel.jpg If enough want it I'll upload it and let everyone know the link.
