  1. The root of the problem lies with the Navy, not the Army. When I left the Navy in '94, we (USA) had over 600 combat and transport ships. Today, thanks to the incompetence of our last elected leader, we have less than 300. Our naval transport capacity is abysmal. And while we may be able to move equipment to deal with "peace keeping" mission, we would be sorely lacking if a major conflict erupted. It took 3 months to move the men and equipment into the gulf before the ground war started. That is in fact why it was delayed so long, Schwatzcoff(?) waited long enough to get everything he needed there. It would take an executive order to seize conrol of the Merchant Marine to deal with a massive conflict today. It sounds like the politicians are evicerating our military readiness again. ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. 2. In general its a set of rules for insecure candy-asses who have nightmares about being shredded by an 88mm or 90mm. Only jeeps, trucks, and pistols are allowed. ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. (George S. Patton)
  3. Jeezus, I just blew a 12oz. beer out my nose. Damn that was funny. ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. (George S. Patton)
  4. Thats pretty dumb. ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. (George S. Patton)
  5. I've noticed since the last patch that most armor that gets into trouble is now moving foreward instead of backwards. This is a pain when moving into a town full enemy infantry and you armor decides to do some site seeing in the center of town.
  6. I'm very interested. I like to play larger battles than most, so I try to keep all my mods and terrain in low res so I can get that 40+ vehicle regiment on the screen.
  7. Wow! "Unrestricted force type in QB" is HUGE! I've heard everyone request it, but this is the first I've heard of it being implimented. Outstanding.
  8. I just want to make this quick cameo to challenge one of you sods to a PBEM. And to the rest of you gutless ones, I render a massive smack to the occipital region with my priapism. Thank You. ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. (George S. Patton)
  9. What was wrong with the armor AI in 1.24beta? I thought that was the best I'd seen.
  10. I'm going to brag and swagger a bit, and say that I wooped this one on my first attempt. More so on my second. Hunker down and hide in the rubble, hit everything point blank and you'll make it home.
  11. Is there a "read me" file? I dont see one.
  12. CrazyCurt, your always wrong. ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. (George S. Patton)
  13. I don't "pay to play" anything. Coin ops went out a long time ago. I wish they would quit trying to install a quarter slot on my machine. ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. (George S. Patton)
  14. This is an old topic I'm in favor of. However since they haven't made that change by now, its unlikely your going to see it in CMBO.
  15. The AI seems to be placing all of its mines on the extreme left or right edges of the map. I've seen this in 3 consecutive games now.
  16. That looks pretty good. Are those subdued colors?
  17. Ive seen the smoke behavior. My armor alternated every other shot shot between HE and smoke at a unidentified inf unit over 500m away. This might be a good thing if it was an AT inf. team.
  18. I'm sure thats the case. I don't recall ever seeing an "upper deck penetration" displayed before.
  19. A couple of grenades down the hatch will do the trick too.
  20. Whats up bro. I'm a professional firefighter, and I'll tell you that direct flame impingement with the crew, or the pillboxes contents, would not be necesary to knock it out. The toxic gases created from the fuel mixture igniting, and the oxygen deficient atmosphere that results from that ignition would be enough to asphyxiate anyone in the heart of such an attack. At the very least, breathing and maintaining conciousness under those conditions would render the crew ineffective for a long time, providing their lungs weren't seered. In that case, they are the walking dead. ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. (George S. Patton)
  21. And turn that damned Puma around and run it off the map before I come out there and get it! Ja SOB.
  22. I'll reiterate. It's the best WW2 game EVER. (Now if I could just convince the wife.). ------------------ As I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear nothing, for I am the meanest mother*#*#** in the valley. (George S. Patton)
  23. Yup, I used to have Ambush, and when I first saw the squad leader reviews and screen shots, Ambush was the first game that came to mind. It'd been so long ago, I couldnt even remember the name of it till I just read this post. Good board game, but why try to put something that old onto todays computers?
