  3. Since the point value of a destroyed unit is factored into victory determination, destruction of vehicles should certainly be considered more. A destroyed 50.cal team is a loss of manpower. A destroyed Jeep w/50.cal is a loss of men AND materials. Not a real difference tacticaly, but if your point system is any reflection of a units strategic value (cost of production in man hours and materials), then this should certainly be tweaked some.
  4. Man, that scenario editor for PE is hard to use, and the units/formations are really hard decipher. The only way to get a real feel for those scenarios is to play them out 5 or 6 times each. And since I've been playing CM, whos got time to run through PE scenarios again? (BURP!)
  5. Point values should = common/rarity of unit. There was a butt-load of halftracks in service, these should be cheap. Konigtigers were a bit less common, they should be expensive.

  9. I like the snowed on look. And on the flip side, I prefer it the way it is. If you fill in the darker areas, it takes away from the vehicles characteristic angular look. Maybe not the ultimate in realism, but I enjoy the plain structure of the units as much as the fancy camo paterns. I shy away from the patterns that take away from the shaded, contrasted features of the units. What you have there looks great. (Can I have a copy?)

  11. Most all I download do work. The ones from "Combat Mission Scenario Page" and "MiNas Combat Mission page" do not. They seem to be unreadable in the game. They are displayed in the scenarios list, but only as jumbled heiroglyphics (like a pbem text looks). And loading them causes the game to crash. I've looked at the text file profile, extension, etc., and no problems there. I even tried several different text editors. I'm using latest version of Win95.

  14. Hey Oddball, are those the stock PE sounds, or Volcanos, or other PE mod sounds. I thought about extracting some of those into CM, but the ones I have now sound so good I couldnt get motivated to do it.

  17. A USMC corporal won his honorable discharge in '97, in federal court, on the grounds he swore to uphold and defend the US Constitution, not the charter of the U.N.. I applaud him.
  18. I would like to be able to swap custom maps from operations to battles, or vice versa. I've spent all this time making a map under "new operation", and now that I'm done I think it would work better if it were a battle. I dont even need the parameters and units, just the ability to extract the map into a "new battle".
