  2. Hello Gen. Sosa . Haven't seen you around much lately. Nice to see your doing well. (except for the waiting part). Oh, another person I haven't heard from in a while is Colin. Anyone know anything? or is he just hiding? Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  3. yes..yes.. It does sound like you have a diesese of some sort. Unfortunatly there is no cure for it at the moment. The best you can do is put it in remission for a while. Best medications for this are "cmforumicillian" and "golddemoscenariopram". As usuall check with your HMO for coverage. 4. ok.. maybe I wasn't clear on this. I piddle with html, and this is for just my homepage and cm page use. $300-$400 dollars for golive and dreamweaver is a little much. 5. Just a question. I was wondering if anyone had some good web site software they would recommend. I've got some freeware editor I'm using now (total crap).I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Besides frontpage, I'm too damn cheep to spend $150 bucks on something I just piddle with. Something around $50 would be cool though. Thanks Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  6. Hey Moon. Great site! Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  7. MG, I understand what your saying. I don't agree with it, but I understand it. As a person that has carried a .50 I can assure you that there is no way in hell that I could run and keep up with riflemen. Well, clarification. Yes you can run with it. But for short distances and then you would be puffing. Same reason we passed it around on marches. What I think you confusing is the movement rates in CM. crawl-we know that one sneack- slow walk looking for enemy. Move- normal infantry pace, quick march ect.. Run- flat out running, huffing and puffing. A HMG can can do all of the following except for run. To me that is resonable. They can keep up with the infantry in everyway but running. Even a rifle squad will get real tired if you run them more than a turn or so. Maybe you should view it as a HMG or mortar squad when "running" (moving as fast as they can) can only move at a normal squads pace. Look at the orders as speeds not actual animations. Hope that made sense. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  8. I don't know about the "net" creating genius. But this forum sure isn't helping job productivity... from my point of view anyway. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  9. I just wonder how much research goes into some of the movies, and what they choose to leave out. In braveheart 2; will they discuss or put in at all the templar knights that fought on the side of Robert? For some reason I have the feeling they will be left out, even though they did play a big role in the english fear factor. just rambling... 10. The inf gun will blow the crap out of a sherman. I lost a sherman to it in a PBEM game. Poor crew didn't even get a chance to bail. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  11. MG, that sounds resonable to me. " a first supply of 1500 rounds." Sounds to me they were setting up in a static position and could retrieve more rounds from the cart as needed. It doesn't sound like they took 1500 rounds and ran to the front. 13. Dar, having your unit target what you plan on firing at (even if it is out of LOS) really is a help. example) your sherman has been shelling infantry for eons when you want to hunt up the hill for a flank shot on some german armor. If you pretarget the armor (out of LOS) your crew will begin changing ammo. This should put you ready to fire as soon as you do have LOS to the target. Only drawback is if you run into any soft targets before you get there, since you will have unloaded your HE ammo. Lorak P.S. make sure your unbuttoned when you go hunting up that hill. Or you may not spot that german armor before your turrent is blown off. ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  14. Gawd... I loved sniper and patrol. We used to have running games on a BBS here in winston. We would e-mail our moves to a GM and he would process the turns and send out the results and an AAR. I also loved solitare ambush, Still remember one of my guys blowing up because the pin on a grenade was pulled while he was crawling thru some brush.... the memories... Lorak P.S. yes I had a twisted childhood it seems. ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  15. Actualy I'm PBEM'ing him in VOT right now. I guess he is just laughing to hard to post. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  16. True, I'm PBEM'ing a beta tester right now. I think he was able to open my file in his final. But the file he sent back produced an error message. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  17. With the editor I'm sure you could model an anti-tank ditch. Just make a depression where both sides are too steep for them to climb. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  18. I posted this in the other thread. But figure it might be easier for the masses to find here. This is the only Banner I've seen and the one I use. Grab it here or at my site. then just link it to this site. http://www.battlefront.com/products/worldwar/cm/index.html Thats it! 19. Have you been following Fionn's AAR at the CMHQ? It takes good planning and a lot of luck. But it can be done. 20. Hey guys. The banner I've seen used at most sites is this one: It is the one I'm using. I guess you can lift it from here or at my FTX site. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM [This message has been edited by Lorak (edited 06-02-2000).]

  22. Hey, I liked SAW, (except for the LOS problems). I'd love to see a small scale (one squad or so) wargame. I hate they used the squad leader name. But, If it is just SAW 2 and they have fixed some of the errors I'll most likely by it. In a game like that I don't look for totally realistic, I look for fun. 23. I don't think it has anything to do with superstition. I imagine they thought is was some kind of chemical and they didn't want to go through it. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM
  24. Yes, word of mouth is great. In person or on the web. I Heard about Cm a long while back, and truthfully forgot about it. My memory was jogged by a post on the CC forum. I can't remember who posted it.. But I am in their debt. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM
  25. Yes... the old "ghost tank" and "sgt. rock" comics. Whats sad is remembering how me and my friends would try and draw pictures from the comics in school. Hell we even tried to make up our own WWII comic. Maybe your just born a wargamer? Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM
