  1. And remember, zipping these files does NOT make them smaller. I can't find the thread that discussed this right now, but I can say from experience that zipping does not make the attachment smaller, in fact it makes it slightly larger! You can break the file up into pieces if you are having problems, but that can get old in a hurry.
  2. OK, I made an exhaustive search of the BMP files and found the following that looked like tree tops: 517 518 519 527 528 548 549 558 559 30507 30508 30509 30515 30516 Brought them in to PaintShop Pro and a minute later...no more tree tops - and I can find my guys using views 6-9 and still have the trees set on "Extreme." 3. See, I said it would be easy;) Actually, I figured out that part. But I am too lazy to search around for all of the top down views! Any body have a BMP list for CMAK?
  4. Has anyone done a mod to have all trees invisible in the top down view? There was one for CMBB and it was extremely useful. It is very easy to do IF you have the list of tree top-down view BMPs.

  6. This hasn't started yet, has it? I would hate to miss it, I had a lot of fun with I, II, and III. If there is a waiting list put me on it.
  7. Found it. Link. Did the maps ever get scanned?

  9. Aren't there different BMPs for the top down view of terrain features? I know there are for trees because someone has a nice mode that removes trees from the top down view. Then you can use extreme trees for the isometric views and not have to switch to no trees when you want to find something, you just have to go to down. Works great. I wonder if we can do the same thing here, at least for rocky terrain?
  10. Michael, Your description of the overall battle may be accurate but you must remember the actual battle field was about 25 miles North-South and almost 10 miles wide. CM can only model a very small part of that, in fact Rune's map is only about 1 km square! The Matilda's seem strange though, even at the end of the battle. I will have to do my own investigation on that.

  12. I saw a quick piece on the BAR last night on TV (history channel, natch) that said the reason it wasn't used in WWI is they feared it might fall into enemy hands! So the Amis were issued some French piece of crap instead. And the Lewis wasn't issued to the Americans because of some poltical squabble between Pershing and the British command. Any of you guys see that?
  13. I think they probably meant that it was inspired by the BT series, probably the BT-5.
  14. How was this tank inspired by the T-28? I don't see the connection, at least externally.
  15. Therm' - don't you mean 12 inches of reinforced concrete instead of 12 inches of armor plate (!) for the .50 cal penetration values. [ November 23, 2003, 09:06 PM: Message edited by: wadepm ]
  16. I agree with Bil, until we get dynamic lighting effects we aren't really reading the terrain, we're just guessing. The grids just provide the information you would get from the dynamic lighting.
  17. Barking dogs! During a lull in a CC3 battle it was very eerie to hear barking dogs. Any chance of that appearing in a mod?
  18. I have the second edition - at least I think I do - and I have the same errors in mine. There were a LOT more errors in the first edition though, from what I saw on the forum.
  19. Rune, I prefer Friday evening after work, but I could see how that would be a problem for out of towners to make. I won't be able to make Saturday though, too much kid stuff going on. Have fun.
