  1. I agree CMpalyer. A tacticle map toggle would be ideal for the next engine. This map could have topo lines with elevations and symbols. Actually a cool touch would be to use symbols from the period and nationality. I'm glad I'm not the only one Afrika impaired. GP
  2. Or at least I do. See, I'm pretty much a plain kinda guy. I drive a plain white truck, I live in a plain pink house, and my CMBO/CMBB are stock plain. Now, nothin against mods mind you. In fact I love the beautiful modded Tank pics and such and even experimented with a few. But, I have never felt the NEED to mod my fav past-time cause its great stock. Until now with CMAK, I've lost too many men to machineguns in open ground when there was a waddi near by I should have noticed. I ask the help of you incredible modders (folks with too much time on their hands and who have better tools then "Paint") to create a nice subtle grid for the sand or at least a heavier shading for elevation. Thanks, GP Uh, I know Pink isn't extacly plain but we now live in Arizona where pink is a "standard" stucco color. My wife says its mauvo-adobie but I say its pink... My kindergarten crayola box only had 16 colors so...
  3. My mother-in-law drives the first one. The BFC9000, its body is made in Mexico (child labor), the interior is made in Canada (baby seals) and the engine/drive-train is made in the firey depts of hell. GreasyPig Quitely waiting the next CM (unless Im drunk.......at work).
  4. Steve, Thank you, especially since it’s a repeat reply. BTW I did use the search, but just try searching “Hull down”, “LOS”, “bug”, … There is simply so much info on this board I can’t see the forest for the trees. As an engineer myself I (and I'm sure NASA) have a special place in my heart for the “rounding bug”. I believe your assumption about hull down and CMBO is right on, I just never had a tank live long enough to see it! Determinant, It really doesn’t get easier (admitting your wrong). You just get use to it. I mean, if you really know in your heart something to be true and an “authority” says its not, then what are you to do? For example, I know my mother in law is the key holder to the gates of hell and I’m convinced my wife is the spawn between her and the man holding a seat for me down there. However, when I was truthful about this with my spouse (which at the time seemed to be the RIGHT thing to do) it was explained to me that I was wrong… in not so many words. Horus, Back off bud. This game is their baby and our passion. It’s their job to stand guard… with a shotgun (especially on weekends and holidays). GreasyPig P.S. please attach replies to the “Backyard”. Me and Sparky are getting along nicely. If I aint there I’ll be stealing old donuts from Circle K for supper.
  5. Egbert, That wasn't pointed at you bud. I got the joke : ), just folks in genral who believe its COMMON for tanks to plow a hill crest not 30yrds in front of them a half dozen times or more in a row. CRAP! I had a crack tiger do this. Realize, I'm not shouting bug. But I believe there IS something a little wacky with the LOS. Has there been any "official" acknowledgement of this yet? GreasyPig
  6. I've seen this problem too many times. You simply must be LOOKING for an argument to say this is common IRL. BTW this little problem happens when using green or crack tanks. FWIW… I’ve read in this forum more than a few inconsistencies with LOS. Not to say they are all true but there does seem to be enough evidence to raise the question (bug). GreasyPig
  7. Isn't this along the same lines as achieving "Hull Down" by using the command and then watching your tank use up a full turn driving shells into the dirt? Hmmmmm.... I honestly believe there is something tricky about the LOS tool in general. GreasyPig
  8. Michael, I agree, advancing a little further would be the solution. In fact this is what I manually need to do after "hull down" has been achieved by command. It seems like the AFV advances seeking hull down until the TC actually has LOS and not nessisarily the gunner. Actually this brings up another question. Does it (in game) change the height of the AFVs LOS depending on wether the TC is buttoned or unbuttoned? The funny thing is I don't remember it being this severe in v1.0. GreasyPig
  9. Hey fellas, I apologize for digging up this thread so late but I can't visit the board as often as I'd like and the search function brought this up as the latest thread on the subject. Has this "problem" been formally addressed yet? My boys are constantly digging holes round after round. Thanks GreasyPig
  10. As every one else has stated, it is probable THE most accurate tactical war game out there. BUT I would like to reemphasize that this game is an ABOSLUTE BLAST to play. It has been by FAR the best return on investment in terms of FUN/TIME/MONEY of any software I have ever purchased. GreasyPig P.S. My wife hates me… and I don’t care.
  11. Leeo… Its call the “Ol’ Bait and Switch Routine”. Ever buy something then get it home and find out it aint “exactly” like what you thought? Except now you can’t get rid of it. Kind of like a pitt-bull puppy or… malaria. GreasyPig
  12. You have SAVED my marriage! You see, I can’t stand my wife. Now I have some place BETTER to go than the bar. When she starts in on me I just head up to my computer room!!! And its cheaper too!!! Oh it gets better! I’m no longer addicted to online porn! You guys redefine COOL! GreasyPig
  13. I often wondered this too. Same with hedge rows. GreasyPig
  14. Red Dog, I'm trying to find more info on the "duckbill choke" after reading you post. I've always thought of it as looks cool, sounds cool, but totally a myth. I can see how you MIGHT/MAYBE be able to squash a shot pattern with the result being a denser horizontal shape. But I can't really see it "spreading" the the shot wider at a givin distance. You have any info to the contrary? Too bad you sold it. It would have been neat to see a test pattern. GreasyPig
  15. So close but yet so far... 6 1/2 hours from Queen Creek, Arizona. Hey Redeker,You planning to attend the Gold Cup for the Woo series in October? GreasyPig
