What Subject For The First CMCW Module?
ng cavscout replied to ng cavscout's topic in Combat Mission Cold War
The new DLC for Arma3 - Prairie Fire S.O.G. - might be up your alley, especially the Mike Force mode. -
American campaign - start with the '79 or the '82?
ng cavscout replied to SDG's topic in Combat Mission Cold War
I'm playing the 79 campaign, and, it's not overwhelmingly difficult. It can be frustrating to see your A10s shot down for no return, but, all in all, it's a rewarding play through. -
Corrections and adjustments are monitored by tracking current missile position using an IR emitter or beacon on the back of the flying missile, then corrections are transmitted through the site, as I understand it. So, the emitter has to be seen, which doesn't happen through smoke.

ng cavscout replied to Panzerpanic's topic in Combat Mission Cold War
Also, in the case of wheeled fighting vehicles (as in the case of my 3 gun truck escort elements for logistics convoys in Iraq 2005-2006) it also meant Truck Commander. -

An early experience with the M47 Dragon in CMCW
ng cavscout replied to RescueToaster's topic in Combat Mission Cold War
One was a Dragon, the other was a LAW, not sure which you are referring to, but I thought the Dragon team had been there for a minute or two. -
or, or, hear me out here, or, his head is grotesquely small.

It's done a great job on T-55s for me in the first 1979 US Campaign. -
In all seriousness, there is a map editor. You could recreate the maps to so desperately want to play using that. I never saw anything in the documentation or advertising for either CMCW or CMFR that maps would be cross compatible with earlier releases. I don't think BFC is giving you a "slap in the face".

All the Combat Mission games are well worth the investment. The rate of return in game hours to money spent is very high.
