  1. It is and it isn't. Good, that is. This morning we put out what we hope is the final tournament patch for Cold War. What this means is, assuming it is fine, this opens the door wide for getting CMBN on Steam. When that happens will be up to Slitherine's scheduling people but it will be out of our hands. Also, patches with PBEM++ and the tournament will come out for Shock Force 2 and Black Sea. Regarding the Battle Pack. As I think I mentioned before, it is finished. It has been for a while. So, "what's the hold up then?" Good question. There is a problem with the Mac version. We've been trying to get it sorted out for weeks. Right now we are considering releasing the Windows version while we wait for the Mac fix.
  2. The v1.06 is finished and available for immediate download here: Patches To make sure that we've swatted the last bugs with this patch we will having a Battlefront tournament. That will be announced in a separate thread. Almost everything in this patch is complete the tournament feature. That means that some of the in game fixes that some have been waiting for are still waiting their turn to be fixed. (Sorry)
  3. I can tell from the email address that the original poster is the same person that I've been speaking with on the Help Desk. Here's a weird one for anyone that gets this. I told him that we could have exchanged emails years and never would have stumbled onto this but here is how he got his sound back: ????????? That's nuts.
  4. We're straying off topic. Please keep it on topic.
  5. The Ukraine war and our long thread on it have completely changed how I see CM. I used to see it in ASL kinda terms. Units are chits moved around on a map. But watching those short little engagement videos from Ukraine have made me realize how much CM looks like real war from what we see in those snippets. And how each CM battle is like a dozen of those drone videos all meshed into one. One of the screenshots that I used for the CMRT pre-orders gave me that feeling. That's why I chose it. It wasn't the coolest screenshot ever taken but it eerily looked like the real war that we are watching unfold on the internet. Looking at it again still gives me the creeps. How many Russian AFVs have we seen sitting in a similar spot before getting blowed up.
  6. When using PBEM++ there shouldn't be a file in the Outgoing folder. So, if there is, maybe deleting it will do the trick.
  7. Try it again. I've asked them to revert the servers while we sort out the new tournament build.
  8. I looked up you account using your Forum email address, found the Vehicle Pack key (which matched the screenshot......I have deleted the screenshot so that no one steals your license key) and added additional activations to the key. Try it again.
  9. Yes. It definitely seems like somefink is amiss. When testing using their beta servers everything worked fine. Initially, when testing on the public servers everything behaved well. Once the requirement for the version number was removed everything went to pot. Both things like you're seeing and the patch testing.
  10. They do. That is how we test both the tournament and PBEM++ systems. But before an actual patch release we need to test it with the real public server.
  11. I don't know how they got word out. I know how I found out. Peng and I still always had ASL games going and had started dipping our toes into computer games (Steel Panthers). I came across somefink talking about a computer version of Squad Leader. From there a link to the Moon and Fionn Alpha public AAR. After that was checking every day for news. And now I'm on the payroll. It's a weird world.
  12. We are in the final stages of testing the final tournament build for Cold War. This meant changing the version number in their system. That bit has already been confirmed as working so I have asked them to revert it until the patch is released.
  13. You're crossing a line, kraze. Please step away from that line........right now.
  14. When the first forum opened forum members had numbers, in addition to their handle. I was forum member 64. That's how long I've been around. Playing? In the fall of 1999 a public beta demo was released. That was the first that I played. The only earlier that people could have played is if they were OG beta testers.
  15. I know it's way off topic but... Yes, I did see them in May. The song cited by LLF has always been one of my favorites but I thought that there was no way they'd ever do it again live. I was wrong. Back to your regularly scheduled war analysis.
  16. Folks we need to reel this back. I can issue vacations if you can't do it yourselves.
  17. The modules, textures, TO&E implementation are all done by Battlefront. Along with all of the coding that goes with it. The development by non"official" Battlefront people involves the research and planning of the content. And once all of the other things are in place they do the building of the content (scenarios, campaigns, maps, etc). So......the first bits I've mentioned that the development team does can happen independently of the things I mentioned the Battlefront crew does. The latter part cannot. Also, please keep in mind, the Final Blitzkrieg and Black Sea modules are in front of Cold War. Both of those games are far more overdue for modules than Cold War Make sense?
  18. Have you lost your mind? I'm not locking the thread, so the alternative would be.........?
  19. It depends on what you own. Somefink hasn't been activated. It is similar to this with Shock Force 2: Until I know what you own and exactly what keys you've enter I can't tell you what you need to enter. If you open a Help Desk ticket I can look at your purchase history and let you know what keys that you need to enter.
  20. You're not paying attention who have a who have a deeper understanding of the game design than you. You'll be better served to consider what they are saying for a bit than knee-jerk reacting to what they are explaining to you.
  21. Can you open a Help Desk ticket? When you do, try to include a screenshot of the contents of your Data folder (which is located in the game's main directory) https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/
