  1. Could you imagine? Having someone doing that? Ugh. I suppose it would have been much easier for me to say "being able to mod anything other than appearance will never ever ever never happen with Combat Mission" , rather than attempt to explain why. Lesson relearned. Since it is not a debatable issue I will end by saying......Being able to mod anything other than appearance will never ever ever never ever never ever ever happen with Combat Mission and leave it at that.
  2. I understand what you're saying but it isn't really fair. A great deal of time and energy has gone into making the game/simulation as realistic as possible. Allowing players to make, for example, Panthers that can fire 100 rounds per minute cheapens the integrity of the game. It can become comical and it would, in our opinion, lose some of the soul of the game. The part that makes it the best tactical level wargame available. I am sure that there are games out there that can be modded to allow a Panther to fire 100 rounds per minute. If that is someone's idea of fun then those are the games that they should use to do it. Unless, of course, you are a country with a military. And are able to offer a contract for us to allow exactly that to develop new weapon systems. In that case we can accommodate you.
  3. There are many reasons we wouldn't do this but the big ones, in my opinion, are the pride that is taken in making historically accurate TO&E. Having our name on that without having a hand in it is scary. Also, and we all know this would happen, the creation of Frankentanks. Fictional AFVs.
  4. Sorry. If you had tagged me I would have seen this before now. The holiday bone is a Steve honor. But, as a way of a bonette, the last Cold War mini tournament ended earlier today. It seems to have gone off without a hitch. Because of that the first full blown tournament will be starting around Christmas. There will be scenarios that are made especially for the tournament. The briefing graphics and everything is already finished for 2 of them.
  5. Did we ever check that your installation was correct? Sometimes firewall and/or anti-virus software can block portions of an installation. Here are the files that should be in your Data folder. Another thing that I have seen is that even if someone has everything correctly in the folder, if they also have mods they can sometimes override/eliminate the stock files :
  6. Nah, this wasn't the delay. This has been happening for a some Mac people since, at least, Big Sur. Here is the workaround that I send people on the Help Desk: 1. Leave the message on screen : 2. Go to System Preferences 3. Under "Security and Privacy" right where it has that bubble choice of App Store and approved developers there should be a button that says "Open Anyway". Click it. Another window will pop up for confirmation of the choice. Select "Open" (I believe the default on that one is cancel so if you just hit return everything goes away. Have to consciously select open). 4. The verification will continue. 5. After that the installation will proceed normally. But I think that you may be able to right click on it and select Open Anyway or somefink similar,
  7. The WW2 games are available today. Right now, through our website. Once they are also released on Steam people can get Steam codes at no additional charge. So, no one has to wait for the games to come out on Steam to play them. You can get'em now. It hasn't really changed, so there hasn't been much to report. We expect Normandy to be released in the 1st Quarter of 2023. We haven't been silent, you just may not be looking at the threads that we've posted in, probably because they aren't talking about Steam WW2 release dates. Not even 2 weeks ago we released the Red Thunder Battle Pack. Less than 2 weeks before that we released the tournament patch for Cold War.
  8. Try using a different program to extract the download. I use a free one called Bandizip.
  9. Excellent question!!! Seriously, an excellent question. The campaigns and maps are not currently in the full installers. Just like user made maps, scenarios, etc they can be added after installation. So there is no order for installation. That said, now that the tournament feature is working I've asked HQ to add these as each new patch is created.
  10. That isn't available but go our store. We are mirroring the Steam sale.
  11. We are now!! https://battlefront.sharefile.com/share/view/s216b2ad387c543e7811ee38b4df26ef2/fo1537bb-8878-4e38-83e1-a2f372b86b08 All of you Mac folks, thank you for your patience!
  12. I understand your emotions but this not the place to advocate for war crimes. Period. End of discussion.
  13. The Mac issue has been fixed!!! Charles will put together a build for us to beta test and if all goes as expected the Mac version of the Pack will be available shortly. Thanks to all you Mac folks for your patience.
  14. It appears to have been a computer auto surrender. He knew he was toast in the battle and told me "I had 1 guy left so i tested the 'oh sh*t, I'm f*cked - get me out of here' option." and ran the 1 guy right at my troops.
  15. I am playing Mark from Slytherine. He has very little CM experience. We just finished the battle where I am Blue. I won it 300-18. It auto-surrendered him when he didn't have any troops left.
  16. Yeah. I don't even know the process for that. Let alone how to fix it.
  17. Some good questions in here..... The tournament system is not in this. The last few module and Pack releases have not been separate downloads. This began when all of the games got all-in-one full game installers. The content for all modules and Packs are released in patches or, if you use the full game installer to install the game, are already installed when the game is installed. This Pack will follow that model. A patch will be released. Once the patch has been installed use the Activate New Products utility and enter your key to "unlock" the content. Yes, there are some bug fixes in the patch. Here is what is in the ReadMe file that I wrote today:
  18. I'm not a mod guy and we're talking about the Matrix installation, not the Battlefront installation, but.....If it's not working in the mod folder try placing it in the Data folder.
  19. Good point! Less than an hour to join the tournament!
