  1. Yup. The plan is still to have it to everyone today. The irony is that, for the first time, the Steam and Matrix versions already have the patch released. @Allan Wotherspoonand @Andrew Kulin if you have the Steam version installed you can play your PBEM++ turns through that until we get our patch up.
  2. You are correct. I pulled the v1.04 patch because I wanted to make sure anyone who hadn't installed it yet would install the soon to be released v1.05 patch.
  3. Yes. I hope to have the v1.05 patch available tomorrow. The scoring was completely borked (technical term) with v1.04. The scores were flipped. The winner got the loser points. The loser got the winner's points. But that has been fixed. The build has bee tested. Just waiting on the installer for release. Matrix and Steam will be releasing theirs tomorrow.
  4. HA!!!! That's brilliant! I'm able to see the Matrix user names that have joined. I haven't seen Bil's name........yet.
  5. We've pushed the beginning of the battles back a few days until Monday. There was an issue discovered with the scoring. It has been found and fixed and a new build needs to be spread around before we can start. Monday was decided as the date that should give us plenty of time to do that.
  6. The Matrix server went down. It is up again.
  7. Yes, the v1.04 won't break existing battles. The only change for v1.04 was the addition of the tournament feature.
  8. The last Beta AAR I did was with Fire and Rubble. My opponent, Ithikial_AU lives in Australia and I live on the East coast of the US. We managed a couple of turns per day. It usually worked out that I woke up to a turn and then had another one that night.
  9. There appears to be an issue with the Matrix servers. It will be looked into when they return on Monday
  10. If you have the maps with the year then you're good to go.
  11. I also just checked and joining through the Matrix website works as well, in addition to the in game joining method: https://www.matrixgames.com/tournaments (This is a public beta because it's all new to us. There is no way to test some of this stuff without it also being publicly available)
  12. I haven't had any trouble getting all of the turns. That isn't to say that somefink has changed. It may have but I have gotten all of my PBEM++ through the end of a battle EXCEPT (and this is important) when a tournament Round has ended but my battle with my opponent hasn't. If a battle is not completed, before the end of a Round, you will not see the end game AAR screen. Which is somefink to keep in mind with this public beta tournament. They are 15 turn games being played over 10 days. Non-public beta's will likely have a 1 turn per day pace. This has a 1 1/2 turn pace. But they are tiny battles and don't take much time to play.
  13. Here's the announcement that was made by Matrix today: Matrix Games and Battlefront are pleased to announce the first Combat Mission: Cold War public Beta tournament is now open. Anyone who has Combat Mission: Cold War can enter. You can join the tournament from within the game: • Go to > SAVED GAMES & PBEM > Join Automatic PBEM++ & Tournaments > Sign in > Select Beta Tournament and click [JOIN] The first round will commence on Monday, 4th July 2022 9:00 GMT. There will be 2 Rounds with 10 days for each round: · First round’s goal is capturing a bridge · Second round is evacuation through a small village. Players will need to average 1.5 turns a day to complete each Round in the allowed time. This is faster than normal as it is a Beta test tournament. Password protection is built into the PBEM files but this feature isn't needed for tournaments so we advise you to leave all password fields blank. Missions Description: • US Rangers try to take a bridge away from Soviet Recon • 17 July 1982. Soviet armored elements lead the exploitation of their unit's breakthrough. US CAV units seek to interdict them Are you ready for the battle? You have time to join till Monday, 4th July 2022 9:00 GMT. Here is how to Join a tournament: Install the new v1.04 patch. Once installed, open the game and follow these steps:
  14. No. It's only the addition of the tournament system.
  15. The v1.04 patch adds the Slitherine/Matrix tournament feature to Combat Mission Cold War. Because the tournaments use the PBEM++ feature this is only for Windows players. Tomorrow, Slitherine and Matrix (and us) will announce announce a "public beta" tournament. More information about that will be available tomorrow.
  16. Just hanging out.....my itchy banning finger hasn't been used in a while. I have it on standby.
  17. Being able to run Black Sea would be nice too. For that it should have a dedicated video card. Not just an Intel integrated card.
  18. HHmmmmm....Interesting idea. The amount asking to be raised may be more than is needed and that may prevent the number from being hit. If I understand GoFundMe correctly, if the goal isn't hit then nothing is sent. You can get a really good laptop for half of that....or a third.
  19. Correct. It's still being worked on but I wouldn't expect it to be released before the war is over.
  20. Both Packs are moving along nicely. The CMBN Pack will be ready "when it's finished". The CMRT looks like it's ahead of schedule for when CMRT is released on Steam.....which is when the Pack will also be released.
  21. The June window is fading. We're getting the tournament feature in before releasing it on Steam. Why I think the window for Steam release in June is closing is because Sltherine/Matrix have marketing schedules and Steam approval. A Battlefront release is somefink that we've always been able to do "when it's finished". There have been Battlefront releases where the final build was double checked in the morning and I've released it by noon. That isn't the way things work when someone else is publishing your work through a system that you don't control. Fortunately, anyone that wants Battle for Normandy can get it today (https://www.battlefront.com/battle-for-normandy/) and, as with the other releases on Steam, you'll be able to get a Steam key at no charge when it's released there. Unless I'm instructed otherwise, as soon as the tournament feature is in, I expect to release it for the Battlefront versions. There won't be a tournament to play at that time but PBEM++ will be in it. When you see that patch released, you'll know that the Steam and Matrix versions have been sent out. At that point they'll likely give us a release date. How soon until the feature is finished? That could be very soon. I played a complete 4 person Cold War tournament last week. I was all 4 players (it's much faster playing all the participants than waiting for another player to play their side. Also, it guaranteed that I'd win the first tournament).
