  1. You're not paying attention who have a who have a deeper understanding of the game design than you. You'll be better served to consider what they are saying for a bit than knee-jerk reacting to what they are explaining to you.
  2. Can you open a Help Desk ticket? When you do, try to include a screenshot of the contents of your Data folder (which is located in the game's main directory) https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/
  3. You do not need to uninstall what you have. Yes, use the Activate New Products utility in the game's main directory and your: 3.0/40 Key Commonwealth/Market Garden key I checked your keys and they are both valid with available activations. You should only have to run the Activate New Products utility twice. Once for the 3.0/4.0 key and once for the Commonwealth/Market Garden key. Your purchase history did not show any of the Packs.
  4. I'm not sure that you understand what Ian and I have been saying. Because we weren't sure I just used your email address to find your account and see what you have. I see that you own the 3.0/4.0 Upgrade Bundle. That is the ONLY thing that you need to download and install. If you install anything else you will ruin your installation. If you installed that and then used your Commonwealth/Market Garden download link then you overwrote your 4.0 installation and turned it into a 2.0 version. You will need to use your 3.0/4.0 Upgrade link again and reinstall it. (actually, just installing the 4.03 patch will probably do the trick https://battlefront.sharefile.com/share/view/s195253a8ef9c4a91b5ab36f9bf3499f4/fo4e72e0-a1b7-4d2d-90e6-bd339ae01890) Then, use the Activate New Products utility and enter all of the keys that Schrullenhaft listed. Both my first reply and his told you everything that you needed to know to get this up and running. Please take the time to read them. Your comments seem to indicate that you didn't. Otherwise you would never have tried downloading and installing the Commonwealth module. Also, never download and try to install somefink 20 times. The only thing that is likely to do is frustrate you and waste your time. The download for the 3.0/4.0 Upgrade is an all-in-one full game installer that installs the base game and every module, Pack, patch and Upgrade in a single download file.
  5. I guess the title kinda says it all. https://www.battlefront.com/red-thunder/cmrt-battle-pack-1/ I also see that another thread has been created saying the same thing. Just felt there should be an official one too.
  6. There are 3 screenshots on the product page and another on the home page.
  7. The base game and module are already released. I am only speaking of the Battle Pack and on Battlefront.
  8. Normandy will be the next title released on Steam. The Red Thunder Battle Pack should be released before then.
  9. I's still possible. The scoring for the tournament system was the last piece that we needed to get right and that looks like it's been taken care of. So, from there it's a matter of double checking that nothing else is broken and having Slitherine set up the release on their schedule. The Red Thunder Pack on the other hand............ We're not waiting for the Steam release for that and it is very close to being released. Not very very but very.
  10. When a game is activated there is some back and forth between your computer and the activation server. It may be that your firewall and/or anti-virus software is blocking somefink and the process isn't completing. Try disabling the during activation.
  11. Try using a different program to extract the downloads. I use a free one called Bandizip and it works like a charm but using any different program should fix you up. When re-installing, anything that you have that uses Game Engine 4 is an all-in-one full game installer and does not need a step by step installation. Keep that in mind when installing. Depending on what you owe it may save you lots of time.
  12. Enough, mate. I've had multiple complaints now. This will be the only warning, ok? Let it go.
  13. Definitely NOT an Intel integrated card. Anything else should be fine. You have about a 50% chance of the an Intel card working.
  14. @Artkin, I guess what the bottom line is for what I'm saying is, we love, crave and want the feedback for how to improve our game. Most of the changes over the years have been born from that. But, it is important to remember that 1 person's priorities are not everyone's priorities. Or even the majority of people's priorities. They're all taken into consideration when allocating time and resources.
  15. While developers want people to love their games, paying them money for them ranks second to that. Selling games is what keeps the lights on. Whether you play them or not. And, again, you are talking about a sample size of 1. Correct. It does little to prove your point. Remember what the production of any product means to the the producer. "Are me making something that people like enough to buy more of?" Doesn't matter if you're talking about computer games or shoes. That is the question you constantly (if you're going to be around for decades) ask yourself all the time. Again, projecting what you want onto what our larger audience might be. And, yet, here we are. 23 years of essentially the same multiplayer system. Could it be better? Of course. There are lots of things that could be better. Is PBEM++ a step toward making it better? Yes. But, ultimately, the right choices in allocation of assets has been made for decades. Or I wouldn't be here typing this right now.
  16. We're beating a dead horse at this point. I own 3 different versions of Civilization. I would not have purchased the second and third if I didn't enjoy the first. Seeing how many multiple versions of CM games people have purchased is not only a good way to see if people are enjoying it, it is the only valid tangible way to tell. Do people wish the games did things that they don't do now? Sure. It's been that way in these parts for 23 years. Our ears are always open to new ideas but we also know that there will always.......always...be things that some people wish were in the game but isn't. Despite the game developer believing that that most players do not use multiplayer as much as solo play, multiplayer will always be an important part of all CM games. I was able to play a turn after leaving it alone over night without logging back in. It isn't something that had to be solved. It isn't even determined by the game. Slitherine servers are set to log people out after a certain amount of time. If they changed that time from 1 hour to unlimited it would explain what I'm seeing. But it wasn't a bug that needed fixing. It was by design for their servers.
  17. This sounds like a case of projecting your feelings about multiplayer and assuming it is the rule across the board. There could be some merit to it but I tend to suspect Steve is correct when he says the overwhelming majority of CM players play solo. It's easy enough to base that opinion on what we see. I know how many copies of each game have been sold. I know how many members there are on this forum. I know, of those members, how frequently people post to the forum. That number is a tiny fraction of the number of copies of the games that have been sold. Even if you account for the guys at FGM it is minuscule compared with how many copies of the games have been sold. If multiplayer were the primary mode of play these forums would be overrun with people looking for people to play against. Does a less dynamic multiplayer arrangement cause the lack of the forums being overrun and people just leave the CM world because of it? That might hold some water if we didn't see that a HUGE majority of players own multiple CM games. It is rare when I'm helping someone with their account that I only see 1 CM game purchased. Those, very tangible, things point to Steve being more likely right than wrong. Plus, as the game designer, it's his business to know. That said, I am 100% in the camp that plays mostly multiplayer for fun. I wish we had turn based TCP. But I understand that I am a sample size of 1. It's been almost exactly 3 hours and I haven't had to log back in.
  18. There we have it. Somefink like removing the password protection that PBEM files have would be a massive undertaking. I know because we looked into it. Let alone revamping the entire system.
  19. You may surprised. We're constantly surprised at how many copies of CMBO, CMBB and CMAK are being sold through GoG. And CMBO is 22 years old! No map preview but it does give information about the battle. I'm going to guess that you've barely used the system. You do not have to log in every time. It is supposed to time you out eventually and if you close the program. But you definitely don't have to log in each PBEM turn. If you have 4 battles going you can just go from one to the next. I may play around with it today because it may not even log you out anymore. I feel like in all the tournament testing that I've done lately I haven't had to log back in if I never closed the program. But I wouldn't swear to that. I'll test it and let you know.
  20. I should add.......I'm not saying that ways to improve the game shouldn't always be kept in mind. They should. But at this time we definitely don't see the point in diverting resources to something we feel works perfectly well right now. Could it be better? Maybe. But not enough better to stop working on other things.
  21. Again, the original system is still available. That will not be removed from the game. That system has been in place since CMSF1 was released 15 years ago and we're still here. You may not like the PBEM++ system but the Challenge lobby to pick up a PBEM game is something that we haven't had before and works very smoothly.
  22. Nobody is using the tournament feature....yet. It isn't finished and there has only been the public beta tournament so far. I can check into whether or not Slitherine can tell me how many PBEM++ battles have been fought. The answer is moot though. It, along with the tournament feature, will be in every Steam release. So, if there are 5 people using it or 1,000,000 that will not change. 53 joined the tournament and 43 registered some type of score. My estimate from looking at the scores is that about half of the people who joined the tournament played the whole thing. And most people played at least a little. https://www.matrixgames.com/tournaments/scores/774
  23. The original PBEM system is not being replaced. It will still be there for you to use with whatever PBEM helper tools that you prefer. There is currently no work being done on PBEM++. The work is on the tournament system. PBEM++ appears to be working as intended and, at this time, there are no plans to change it at any point.
  24. Yes. PBEM++ has been finished a while ago (last fall). It's the tournament system that is being worked on. There has been something discussed internally but nothing has been settled yet. We weren't happy with how the scoring worked with the public beta tournament. We've been working on it and don't have an updated timeline. My wish would be last month. But that ship has sailed.
