  1. Well they sprung it on the beta guys too when we started testing it. BFC has an evil streak.
  2. Before you guys get all hot and bothered by no Commonwealth, CMFI is a Standalone product just like CMBN is. The Brits are for the module.
  3. Now do we get to say, "April Fools"? Ah screw it, we may as well let you guys have it too.
  4. Their plate is pretty full. I can see you getting pretty old waiting for this one. LOL
  5. While I have no idea how the business part went, I know that CM:A is by far the most overlooked game ever. Snowball did a great job.
  6. Well Womble, aside from the banzai charges, cave fighting, fight to the last man, jungle fighting aspect I cant think of anything else thats fascinating. Oh wait ya, flamethrowers, guerrilla tactics, burning jungle, bayonet fights...etc. Sadly I think I will need to win the lottery to bribe BFC to actually make this game.
  7. Well CMSF and especially CM:A did great with the desert. While I beta WWII titles as well as the modern ones, I very much prefer CMSF because of the increased lethality of the battlefield. I dream about upgrading them to the newer engine though LOL. But instead of them someday making African/Med theater, I wish they would start working on a PTO game, especially with the improvements over the x1 engine that we have now. Infantry-centric battles hold my attention far more than combined arms. Plus the Japanese of that era are just fascinating, and actually beach landings not being abstracted would be amazing. Maybe I will start buying Steve some books and send him some uniforms of the players there. Maybe he will soften, what you guys think?
  8. No, it's patronize the strip club Thursday. They are not even thinking of you guys let alone laughing at your speculative hyperbole. The beta guys are though.
  9. BFC has just recently acquired the rights to the Deer Hunter series of games. The first new module will be called Deer Hunter: Villagragosa. Set in Los Angeles in 2010, you are to ride Los Angeles public transit and kill your way up to a final confrontation with the mayor of the city. System Requirements: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Mac OSx 8.4 Pentium 4 1.0 GHz or slower 48 MB RAM 16 MB DirectX 7.0 video card with T&L DirectX 7.0c or later Sound Card Mouse 6 MB Hard Disk space I have violated my NDA but I just couldnt hold it.
  10. I thought you were talking about SO.
  11. Well I think its a mod. While I never saw any men over there with an SA-80 per se, I wouldnt be surprised if a few are around there considering a few variants werent too popular with the troops. I mean they have quite a variety over there so one more wouldnt hurt. Shreks and Zooks shouldnt be fired from buildings in the first place, well unless you were trapped, suicidal or hated the men in your unit and wanted them offed with extreme prejudice. I can give you the reasoning thats obvious, like choking smoke, overpressure causing concussive effects, or setting the house on fire. I can also state the not so obvious as it's tactically a misuse of a weapon system designed to fire and get the f*ck out of there because you are now the object of the enemies affection. It's unrealistic and wont change.
  12. I agree. I still loved my time with CMSF more than any WWII setting. I mean I never thought I would say this, but it surpassed CMBO for me in terms of wow factor. I mean never say never as far as making it backwards compatible. BFC has been surprising us a lot lately.
  13. No warrior princess for you! (Maybe thats a good thing, have you seen her lately?)
  14. Guys, please stop trying to compare this game to CMx1. It's like comparing a horse and buggy to a Mercedes. They both are essentially made for the same purpose but they take different ways of getting to the same place. There are major advantages to both. This game as JonS has pointed out, does much of the same thing as Hunt to Contact, you just have to do a little more to get there. In smaller scenarios, it works better and is easier to manage. This is much more of a learning curve type issue than it is with a limitation.
  15. Its just telling you are old, so buy 300 copies to take with you to the afterlife. BFC actually stands for Buy For Casket.
  16. You should, he works very hard to help make this game better for people like you. Not sure if he plays 16 hours a day, but I bet he misses some sleep.
  17. Well there is room for both. I care because well, I am not over 50. But I also think the more product we put out, the happier you guys are and the bigger the base of customers becomes. Truthfully my wish list is PTO and the Korean conflict far before we do anything that never happened.
  18. Ya Clay, you missed telling us about this. We think either you dont love us, or Steve was too drunk to remember to tell us. In any case, if the Gerry's had ya during WWII, Enigma would still be, well, an enigma.
  19. Try using "cautious" with the "advance". Slows them down a bit.
  20. Badger, you may as well try it, it's quite fun.
  21. BFC is in league with Apple to make everyone upgrade or buy the new stuff. See why 4 out of 5 dentists dont recommend eating internet crack?
  22. Those of you who have downloaded and played it, whats your take on it? I played a few scenarios and i really think its done about as good as it can be done on this platform. While it's not even in the ball park as far as CM Normandy goes on a PC, it's got some beautiful graphics at the lowest levels, especially the trees. If you also look at the soldiers uniforms, they look mighty nice as well. Gameplay is not too bad and I absolutely LOVE the path finding lines that show you the exact route and I feel like CMBN really needs this as a toggled feature. Also the slider bar for replay is far superior to what we have in CMBN as well. A few gripes I have though are that there are no unit bases. I rarely if ever use them in CMBN but find myself wishing they were included, especially during playback. Artillery needs more of a CM type interface with maybe a drag and draw triangle or box over the point target that is currently used. Biggest gripe will be about the number of scenarios included. In 30 second intervals with 30 turns or less, it wont be long before people are done with them and moving on to the next game. But I think overall for an iPad game that isnt Angry Birds, it's a 4 to 4.5 star game. Think all they need is someone to refuse to stop playing it on a plane for it to hit the mainstream.
  23. Now guys go give great reviews as well so it can be a huge success.
  24. Dont worry, they never even told the Beta guys this existed until yesterday. I admit I did threaten Moon with the fury of the beta guys if this was a joke. Wonder what prison I could smuggle an iPad into.....
