  1. I think Mr Kettler is using the tinfoil hat mod again. John, your AV software clearly didnt catch the bugs in time.
  2. I know Steve, I am just trying to fill your inbox with patch requests to go along with the hate mail. You're welcome.
  3. Whats really funny is that was Steve's game. Since we are all here, you may as well demand that he upgrade it for free for ya.
  4. Theres really no wrong one to pick Hosed. I actually prefer the SF series overall just based on the era. I really wish we could go back and apply the new stuff to this game. I truly love it.
  5. Thats a really crappy way to abuse the system LOL. The board would be full of people claiming how stupid BFC is.
  6. Shocker, I did a Google search on the games you designed and what a "shocker" I didnt find anything.
  7. What really gets me is you guys dont mind going out to a bar and paying 4 times as much for a beer that you could just sit at home and drink on the couch in your underwear. But BFC says, look guys, we really think we deserve money for our continued work and some of you act like they told your momma shes fat and wears combat boots. Just think if one day BFC figures out they are the only company that produces good cross platform wargames how much they will be able to charge........
  8. Upgrade and patch are completely different. When has BFC ever not supported their products before? Besides, if you ever bought a module before, you bought content that also included the enhancements. So just think of the term like a module and you will make more sense of it.
  9. I am actually with you guys on this one. Probability is very different than a time window even though they are kind of the same. Just how you get there I guess. But reinforcements based of casualties seems like a good idea and realistic at the same time. Like strategic reserves. Very good idea sonar.
  10. Official Announcement: New BFC Game Foz News We have decided to skip developing games on the current CMx2 and Cmx3 engines and go to CMx4 (Codenamed Madoff) so we can compete in the current PC game market. We have been in the business for many years, and while we feel we have been successful in delivering close to realistic military simulations, we need to stay current with what other developers have done in the last 3 to 4 years. I asked one of the co-founders about this today and Steve Grammont was kind enough to reply to my e-interview. Here is a snippet. Interviewer: Hi Steve, this is quite a surprise. What made you decide that the new engine needed to be changed? Grammont: Hi thanks for asking. We at BFC have been around for 12+ years now and the current engine requires a lot of money and time to implement new units in a cost effective manner. Charles and I were discussing a few problems and we came to the conclusion we had far too many units in the game for some and not enough for others. This really gave the UI some serious limitations. This begged the question, how to solve it? Well I think our less is more approach will solve all of the major issues without inserting new minor nagging ones. Interviewer: Less is more? How does this work? Grammont: Well in the first games we did, you could have a sizeable force, but never really the amount you needed to represent complete fronts like in the hex based games, especially dealing with 3-D graphics that took away some of the physics based calculations we needed in WEGO. We had a really neat solution. If we take out all of the units and scripting and AI, and essentially all code, we could make the game truly perfect for all. Interviewer: How do you take out so much but provide more content? Grammont: Oh see this was the truly inspirational part. If we take out all of the units and the other stuff I mentioned the player essentially can imagine the battle in real time, with any units, over any military era, pitting dream scenarios...anything you can think up. Just think of it like this. You can play a multi-player game without need of the internet service with 1 million players, in a lag free environment at the touch of a button, or without touching a button. You can play Real time and turn based at the same time! Thats why we feel that our game will revitalize the computer wargame industry. Interviewer: Wow that sounds great. Do you think this will be the game you can retire on? Grammont: Well the overhead will be really low. We will not need artists, programming, bandwith, manuals, CD's, and box art so this really frees up most of the resources typical of our earlier titles. Interviewer: So what will be the cost and when can we expect to see it? Grammont: It will be available for pre-order in 24 hours (except in Malta) and the price will be $70 with future upgrades and patches free for the first 3 years (except in Malta). Interviewer: Thank you Steve for this wonderful news. Grammont: Our pleasure.
  11. Yes theres gonna be a demo. Always will be a demo.
  12. They split just fine, they did go 1-1 during the war. But you cannot split Italian forces in CNFI.
  13. CMx2 is not a RTS, it's a RT (Real Time) game. Womble hit it on the head.
  14. Dont worry, I am sure there will be enough willing participants to take your place.
  15. It's just there to activate the cheat codes. Soon there will be an Italian one too. It's only there to confuse you though.
  16. Well there are no triggers in CMFI. Lets just concentrate on the new features. Charles and Phil are only human and if and when they ever write them into the code, it could be useful in the right hands that's for sure. As for putting them in future titles, I am pretty sure they arent against them. I think it just all comes down to time vs reward as every feature requires in CM. Be patient guys.
  17. Actually two reasons for this are: 1. The CIA contracted through the Pakistani's to buy almost all of them back. 2. The last shipments were in 1988-89 so most (if not all) of the ones we didnt get to buy back, most likely will not be in working order. They are quite complicated systems.
  18. Well the thing about Karzai isnt that he's corrupt. It actually works in our favor for him to be so corrupt. The thing we love about him is if we do want him gone, he's really easy to get rid of. He really has 0 standing outside of Kabul (as almost anyone will ever have there to be honest) but he knows, no matter what he spews to the press, that if we leave, he's a blood stain on the history books and will be lucky to get exiled before they actually fill him with bullets. Our little puppet Hamid, we picked the right guy for the crappy job. One time, I even overheard one of the Afghan diplomats call him Amerizai. I chuckled.
  19. Well a little beta testing is in order, since I am busy with CMFI, you guys are going to have to pull the slack with this one. Mankind and the future of video gamers are counting on you!!! Cristina if you read this someone hacked my account, lets watch some Glee ok?
  20. Well, if it doesnt work right and we need to devote more time to something, that's what is gonna happen. Besides, you guys didnt even know it existed so the timeframe is relative to how long you knew about it hehe. It's coming dont worry and it plays good so far, so go get your pre-order on if you havent already guys.
  21. Dont be a sissy, you tell your woman, "Look woman, get in the kitchen and cook me a steak, I am saving the world from fascists." Let me know how this works and if you are alive, I may try it myself if I ever get enough guts. *Disclaimer: BFC is in no way responsible for medical costs, divorce lawyer fees, or back problems associated with sleeping on couch. For entertainment purposes only.
  22. I would imagine that the Brits will be in a module. Free France and Poland I guess it's possible, and I have honestly never thought much about the Brazilian troops in a game. Be neat to have some Portuguese yelling.
