  1. I dont give to any charities anymore. I just have no idea who to trust. I particularly hate the ones who parade children around on the television, or ones that show animals in a sad light. I wonder if the millions they spend on the commercials could be put to better use.
  2. Ya when testing this I was shocked how great it plays. Also the Shilka is worth the price of admission.
  3. Well I am willing to bet none of the employees have an Abrams parked in the yard, but Steve eats more than he kills in the wild, so they are doing ok. I also am willing to bet if Steve could afford it he would be terrorizing his neighbors with that Abrams.
  4. BFC is a privately run company and does not need to release sales figures. I am however sure they sold or will sell more than 50,000 copies. Unfortunately they dont sell in the millions, which they completely deserve. I think if they did sell millions of copies this would be the last game they make. Dealing with all the complaints or living in Tahiti......tough choice.
  5. CMx1 was ahead of it's time and BFC just can't live that down. And we all miss the auto map maker I think from Cmx1. Rest of the stuff in CMx2 is light years ahead of CMx1. (I also miss Operations, dont tell anyone). I prefer CMSF to CMBN overall, but QB's in CM Afghanistan usually have better auto picking. Auto picking on SF and BN can be frustrating and since I am far more interested in infantry only battles, I think CMSF has the edge in infantry styled combat but CMBN makes up for it with combined battles where the countries involved are just about equal and the battlefield is far less deadly. But i think the thing most people over look the most about why Cmx2 is better is the artillery realism. I mean you can actually turn the tide of a battle now with proper handling of arty below 105's. I dont recall being that bothered with arty in CMBO or BB. But I enjoy all these games anyway, testing or just playing. We moved in the right direction but it's hard to live up to a legend.
  6. I am not aware of this engine being able to do this. Not sure I wanna screw up the ratio anyway.
  7. She happens to be from Texas as well. Almost as important is my Chess Oscar on the right. She wanted to put my Medal of Honor there too but since she wont let me go back in to get one, she will have to be happy with what I've got. And I wouldnt have posted this had you not done so first.
  8. Steve is hardly grumpy. I think MikeyD and I have gone off worse on people than Steve. But honestly if Steve went to your house and started telling you how crappy you decorated and that your wife was not up to par, how would you react? Well sports fans, this is Steve's house, we are only guests here.
  9. I would sell ya mine but its sitting next to the girlfriends Emmy.
  10. My CMBN "it" moment was entering the code after downloading the Alpha version which in so many ways would have been a pretty good gaming experience even had there been no additional work done. Too bad you guys didnt see the "Ganja Troops" though. The colors, the pretty colors! (Yes Ganja Troops were American crunchies running around in Tie-Dyed helmets as the textures werent added yet.)
  11. Enough with this already. BFC isnt trying to make some PC civil rights statement or have you idiots stirring up a debate that has absolutely nothing to do with this or any other BFC game. The color of someones skin has nothing to do with ability on a real or on a virtual battlefield. Never has and never will. So if you are really bothered by the color of the troops then you may mod away. You want Max Klinger running around the map in pink chiffon, mod away. You want BFC to incorporate troops of color, play CMSF.
  12. Unless theres a FO in it, then not so gamey. You might be a monster but not gamey.
  13. Thats really awesome. The times I was at ft Knox I didnt have time to go have a look see. Hopefully next summer I can talk the other half to take a tour. She has stated thankfully she wants to run the Darby Queen and Nasty Nick so maybe I can get her to take a trip to a few bases that doesnt involve me running my expanding waistline through the mud. Also she thinks she can beat me and she may be right lol!
  14. We are extremely proud of how great the atmosphere in CMBN is. I am pretty sure even the big budget games such as say Call of Duty do not track every single bullet in the same manner as this game does thats why they can devote so much to the graphical representation. As far as it being a modded CMx1 LMAO!!!! Thanks for insulting the excellent staff that does all of the art here.
  15. No it was due to him being a forum warrior trapped in a supply clerks body.
  16. Well if you ain't movin' forward, you're already dead. The French found this out at the start of WWII and the Germans at the end. But there is no easy answer except just don't be caught in the action spot the shells are falling on. Sadly CMx1 gave people a false sense of what real world artillery is capable of. Artillery in this game seems to truly be a deciding factor if used with skill, which in my opinion makes this game much better. Besides if you are counting on your pixel-truppen's health to be saved by a terrain feature, well you have far more confidence than me.
  17. So happy you weren't my commander. Seriously tho, if I find a minefield and I have no pioneer units I try and find a different way around it.
  18. The CMSF modules took so long because they were also working on CMBN. Plus now they have a few years experience with the engine. They are freed up for a hopefully quicker turn around of the modules.
  19. An unofficial source told me that they are willing to give you guys the sales figures. All they need in return is all of the people who ordered already to buy 10 more copies. As for 2 million copies, would be nice for a company that deserves it to get a boost like that.
  20. Will your 39th post actually be one that has a point? I mean I cant tell if this is an underhanded compliment, sarcasm, or you have a gripe about the accuracy modeling...
  21. Indeed! I am not sure that there are levels within levels for the bocage. So the bocage is either a big bocage or the smaller one. So the time it takes to destroy one might just be a constant rather than saying "This bocage has 9000hp and this one has 7456" within the same tile.
  22. Problem with manuals is that things change within patches. Well in the CM world atleast.
