  1. None that I can tell. Less emphasis on hand to hand combat possibly. </font>
  2. Mike, a little bit of a tangent but what are the specs you're running SF on? How does it look on your machine, how much of the eye-candy is switched off/on? Cheers.
  3. Seems a strange premise. If the CW couldn't source US engines they could certainly make their own, so a tank would still be there but would have a RR engine instead of whatever it had. OTOH, Britain would have probably lost the Battle of Britain (no propellers) and the Battle of the Atlantic (no ships), so it would be moot anyway. But don't let me put you off - it's your scenario :

  5. I've heard that the initial might be from the factory where the Panther was produced. I have no data to back this up, but I'll stick to it through the presentation of any and all evidence.
  6. For all your info needs: http://cmbb.jemian.com/
  7. With the psychological effects of firing your weapon, I wonder if the extra recoil and noise of the bigger bullet colours the troops perceptions more than wound or ballistic properties. IOW, bigger bang beats better bullets.
  8. I think you'll find no one so far in this thread is a critic of the M4. An all round excellent tank. I've recently surprised an opponent by duelling long range with his PzIV's and winning. The little extra armour on the M4 making all the difference. True, but it's just so gratifying after having to skulk around for years with JS2 against PzIV's, just to be able to roll right through them with the Churchill XI and kill their big brothers frontally with the Achillies is great fun. None of these are Swiss army knife of the Tiger but with a little scissors/paper/rock handling you can get great results.
  9. Achillies, 105's and Churchill XI's. Gotta love playing the Brits.
  10. I thought the bit where the Rangers were rappelling from the choppers was incredible. And following the JDAM strike when the T-90S drives straight through - brilliant.
  11. I'd rather watch the turn than wait for it to process, then watch it. Seems a good choice for BFC. I just wonder if it'll work on my steam powered PC, which probably can't DO a second/second.
  12. You know, if BFC didn't make these games, I don't think anyone would. Then what would I have done for the past...4 YEARS?! Cheers BFC, add me to the refreshing monkey column. Any word on the min specs?
  13. FWIU it's hard coded into the game. I thought the same thing when I got the game.
  14. It does John, it's just in a frameset. The outer frame contains the menu and the inner the page, therefore you don't see the URL of the inner content page. Right click it and get the properties - or however you click it on a mac - and you can get the proper URL. Anytime you see a site like that, where one bit gets a scroll bar and one bit doesn't, it's a frameset and the same trick will work.
  15. AIUI late war Soviet Tank Hunter teams get a RPG about 2/3 of the time, giving them very good AT capacity. JasonC did a test, it's in the archives somewhere. Hopefully he'll be along soon to clarify. Early war, you're SOL.
  16. The one thing I'd like is to see infantry being affected by their mates firing. If my mates were firing, I'd be scanning for targets from behind the nearest cover.
  17. I love these mods, I just wish the background was a little lighter. The green is really heavy. What? No! No hint...Well...unless? Nah.
  18. I bought it as a long time CM opponent was on the beta and liked it. Never finished a single battle - I just couldn't understand some of the decisions they made. Why can't I give one type of order now when I can give another etc. Keep your money.
  19. I've got my money right here. Tell me when you want it.
  20. In about 10 years there's going to be some kick ass SWAT teams about.
  21. Use a Churchill XI as your front runner backed by a vet Achillies platoon. The Churchill can take out all the StuG's and PzIV's you like, plus it has the MG ammo to dominate any infantry battles. Keep it out of Shrek range though. Your opponent will bring out his big cats to try and take him out and you should have your Achillies in overwatch to answer. No guarantees but it's a fun armour mix.
  22. I've had one used against me in a QB. I disabled it with a light flak when it was out of range of everything else. I thought it was a Brumbar until the AAR. And yes, my mate hated me for it.
