Well I wanted some general advice on it. I have played a few scenerios against a friend like Arzew, and a few others where I am attacking a trench in the open. Its impossible to get close to him as their is no terrain that lets you get close to the trench without being spotted...Also I realize a frontal assualt on a trench is not the best situation for infantry as they will get shredded like paper.My question is IF you have no armor support how do you go about taking the trench? I was thinking smoke, split squad insane amounts of supress fire and assault.

Hey guys just wanted some tips or hints on how to handle my infantry when attacking across open desert against entrenched infantry. So far I have had to rethink my infantry tactics compared to CMBB (as it should be cause its different terrain). I usually take heavy losses on a map of that sort so i was wondering how some players go about minimizing their casualties. Reguards, Garand

ya I dont know, its not really that big of a deal the game works fine and its one of my favorites it was just that isolated incident...I was just asking if the game goes out of wack when you go against the guy who made the scenerio by playing the side he says is not played best as.....then Jason decided to treat me like an idiot...later guys PS I usually save over my games unless something really interesting happened that i want to keep!

this really happened to me but its just in that scenerio so ill just be quiet since I am a troll and a git. later guys and thanks for the suggestions.

I was playing as the british against what the scenerio editor says is "best played" could that be it?

Why am i git? and im not a troll. I am telling you that my soldiers where in COVER, not TAKING FIRE, not RATTLED, and they are fighting on a FLAT desert for the most part with no impassable terrain. The scenerio is Ariete-The ram. I would give them orders and they would just sit there. when i would check the movement paths the next turn they would not be there anymore.

nah guys this happened over multiple turns and these guys where totally unaffected by anything :-/ they didnt refuse to do anything they just didnt react to any order....I am not the best CM player but i do know about all the things you guys are talking about.

no1 is broken, they are not under fire and i gave them the move command. and they arent conscript...also its in the middle of a battle so no set up phase :-/ and the hills are small sand dunes.
