  1. Prawn in the curtain rod? Piss in the plant pot? Anthrax in the sugar? If you're ansy about privacy you're better getting some kind of file shredder than just deleting stuff. Won't work for your email as that's on the server but you can delete your local files. Other than that I dunno. I got escorted out of my last job. I'd worked it so that I resigned over Easter and with my holidays plus the bank holidays they owed me 2 weeks on top of my last pay cheque. Instead of paying me the 2 days bank holiday for the Easter the FIRED me and paid me off. After eight years. As I was getting escorted out I shouted "I regret NOTHING!". Yes. But is it art?
  2. I've created a hotkeys file that a lot of players find quite intuitive. It is very similar to the keys used in CM1 in that most functions are tied to a letter that makes sense - to me at least. They don't have every command bound - some you need to select from the menu. And they don't have the camera bound specifically bound - I just use the mouse to look around. If this sounds like how you play and you fancy giving these a go:- go to the "Data" folder in the game installation backup your current "hotkeys.txt" to some name like "original_hotkeys.txt" download the file from here by right-clicking the link and choosing "save file as", then saving it put the downloaded file in your "Data" folder re-start CM.(If you don't like them after all delete "hotkeys.txt" and re-rename "original_hotkeys.txt" to "hotkeys.txt".) Here's a list of the commands and what they do: F - move fast Q - move quick M - move normal S - move slow H - move hunt A - move assault R - move reverse B - blast N - mark mines T - target Y - target light V - target arc O - face D - deploy P - pause U - hide L - dismount B - bail out - - vehicle open up I - pop smoke G - acquire Hope you get some use out of them.
  3. IIRC even stuff like stopping to pop off shots while moving, seeking cover under fire etc increases with level. Quite cool.
  4. I remember hearing that the highest weight that can be carried for long distances is ~70lb. So most armies aim for around the 70lb mark. Interestingly they examined a Roman army kit and it came out ~70lb. So nothing changes. . . . For army guys completely shooting that down read on...
  5. If you tab to a unit and roll the mouse wheel the unit stays in view at all times as the height goes up and down.
  6. Cool - I can see me snacking on few of these.
  7. Also - you might want to give TCP/IP a new look - unless you have and haven't updated your site intro - it works a lot better now.
  8. My hotkeys file is here. Backup your default set (in the Data folder) and put this one in if you fancy giving it a whirl. It's pretty self explanatory: <E>F // move fast <E>Q // move quick <E>M // move normal <E>S // move slow <E>H // move hunt <E>A // move assault <E>R // move reverse <E>B // blast <E>N // mark mines <E>T // target <E>Y // target light <E>V // target arc <E> // NOT CURRENTLY USED... Do not assign a key to this function! It will eventually be the hotkey for Clear Target, but not yet properly activated <E>O // face <E>D // deploy <E>P // pause <E>U // hide <E>L // dismount <E>B // bail out <E>- // vehicle open up <E>I // pop smoke <E>G // acquire
  9. And mine. If you can stop them flashing I promise to stop dancing.
  10. What would an FO know? Would he know the total rounds he had available? Or total plus reserve? Or total on call with more on delay? Would he know or care how many had been fired - doubt it - or would he just know if he yelled he could have so many from distance x (= spread) and so many from distance y? I would like to have access to all the information he would have. Is this is to the round that's what I want to have. I doubt he's on the phone saying "Give me fire" "On the way - you've got, ooo, a few round left. Enough for a barbie maybe. If you're careful.". IOW - I want integers, not bars.
  11. You do know the usage of NVGs is in the game? All kinds of visual aids are modelled. There was a thread here a while back asking why a US platoon could kill a whole Syrian company in trenches etc. Turned out, the US had NVG while the Syrians didn't and it was a moonless night.
  12. I loiyk you goyz. You're toiyt. Really toiyt (what you think - too South African?).
  13. No, I think it's from each individual. Doesn't work 100% but I think that's it.
  14. It MUST have been something else. There's no way you could see stars as a heat source. If you're 100% sure I'll take it on your authority but I find that very difficult to believe.
  15. The only mod released with all Blue on Blue scenarios. And of course close combat modelled.
  16. Plus the fact that it threatens DRM restrictions. Pay more for an OS that won't run on your PC, work with your printer or let you watch anything you want? Umm. No.
  17. I don't think he was trolling dima. I think Steve did say they would try and keep all changes backward compatible but has now seen how much extra work that would be and has moved away from it. I could be wrong about all of it of course but nevertheless I can understand LongLeftFlank's statement.
  18. Do you find it with the map, the map the map the map - I'm the map!
