It should have been Palmer.

Cool (but useless) feature idea

I'd prefer a scenario rating ability. -

Oh agreed - it can be done but should it take precedence? Knowing the number of server purely dedicated to holding the TODO list now require a specialised cooling system as the cloud of steam from the existing towers was starting to affect weather patterns in Maine - probably not. -

Sergei, why do you think the AI wouldn't be able to handle it? It's not like it just checks the LOS map for LOS and that's it - there's already a tactical layer on top of that. This would be another parameter. And I don't think it'd affect playability that much. You'd soon learn that you don't set up on the back of the Matterhorn and expect to be able to shoot the ground in front. I think tactical nuances like this are what elevates CM above other games. Using units effectively and realistically is what makes it fun. Learning that Soviet bloc tanks can't get hull down very well because of their low profile - but that low profile brings other advantages - is as important as knowing your AT4s from your AT-4s. -

In WEGO you place a waypoint and see if you can target from it. Not arguing for or against either way. Just noting tools are available to counter the WEGO argument. -

Hell yeah. If only for the name. How about a Big Bad British Moon? CR2s one side, M1A1s the other... -

I admire your persistence Thomm -
This was 8/10 for a module. I think that's good news.
-
Certainly the British module and as it works why change for WWII.

If you press "+" and "-" you scroll through the units. Try pressing one of them - I think it works.
-
Press tab again and you'll be back at the unit if I understand you correctly.

Among other places.

I guess it'd depend on if the shell flew over your head or not, which is probably why it's done how it is.

War is good for the survivors. Not so good for the dead. That's evolutionary pressure right there. The only way out is to make resources not worth fighting for. The best way to do that is to make trade more profitable than resources. One of the great strenghts of capitalism is binding everyone together in a trade network and making breaking out of that less beneficial than staying in it. That works on a macro and micro level. So if each culture in a multi-cultural society can benefit the other then things can work out. If that stops happening then the majority tends to eat the other.

The Onion will be OK for a while yet.

The cam can be power optimised as the valve system is now hydraulic. Seems OK to me. -
Up until the 19th century only 20% of France spoke French. These new languages tend to get a bit twitchy about self preservation.

Hunter I can only imagine... Well done for the attempt fella. Great concepts. Damn bad luck.

Well sure you say that - but I'm sure you won't mind me trying to persuade you FWIW I think recon-by-fire is a) the only thing the system would lose addressable with the (say) 150m no-delay fire area. Whereas what it'd bring is proper use of C2 and support weapons. Still - this isn't the attempt. I'm not ready to make the full attempt yet -
As Dietrich said, overwatch is more a tactical concept than a game concept. When you're moving your men forward you want to be able to shoot at anything that shoots at them. You need to be able to lay down more firepower to the enemy than you're receiving - bearing in mind firepower is attenuated by cover. That means you'll win the firefight. In CM2 playing Blue your intent is to be able to give enough instant response to prevent your infantry force taking any casualties. This means massive amounts of support from vehicles and other teams. Have one team moving and the rest of your force ready to kill anything that shoots at them. But the main thing to bear in mind with vehicles is they're not swordsmen they only need to be able to see the enemy - not close with him. Keep them as far back as you can and still get support to your soldiers. Use their long range and enhanced optics to good effect.
