  1. It wasn't sarcasm Leto. Lighten up. I'm looking forward to WWII as much as anyone. Christ, talk about projection.
  2. I want an Achillies and a Churchill XI and a Sherman 105. I want a Tiger and a Panther and a T34/76 and a Wildcat I want zooks and shreks and PIATs and fausts. I want rain and clouds and fog and ice. I want water and bridges and splashes and boats. I want mud and sand and steppe and rocks. I want immobilisations and gun hits and crew panics and abandoning I want strafing and bombs and rockets and triple A. I want trenches and airbursts and panic and prisoners. I want rallying and bravery and outlandish results and stark, naked terror. I want to cherry pick. I want to TCP/IP WEGO. I want to see action at a distance. I want C2 and FOW And I want it ALL and I want it NOW. And this is not a definitive list.
  3. I agree about the cover armour arc. You do know if you press shift you'll get a 360 degree arc though?
  4. I heard that eucalyptus trees explode under very high heat and the top land some distance away (with stunned koala) and starts another fire - is this true?
  5. Awful situation. Will it bring about a change in forest management? It looks like it needs to.
  6. I miss ATGs. It'll be so nice when combined arms doesn't mean "go get the javelin.". Unfortunately not.
  7. Tactically. What's interesting about a human wave across a choke point? You can eulogise the courage of the man - and rightly - but what is there that hasn't been said a million times?
  8. Looks like a high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicle. ...oh, wait.
  9. I just wanted everyone else to be a frustrated as me You need to be bold.
  10. After taking part in a meta-campaign I can't imagine me playing co-op more than once. I'm obviously in the minority but just getting people from across the globe to play and play together. Nightmare. Hey ho, lets find out.
  11. AIUI both of those are on "the list". Unfortunately if you know where to look you can see "the list" on Google Earth.
  12. I grew to love them. When I first started playing CM:AK I'd curse them but when I realised how flaming useful they were I really liked them. Especially with a 6pdr attached.
  13. Good documentary - cheers Adam. Yep. An armoured HMMWV would have been better in the shootout - but how many would have got there? How many missions would need to be abandoned?
  14. I'll have a look at the vid when I get home. I can neither confirm nor deny that this kick-arse beautifully modelled vehicle is currently in the testing process.
  15. * You can always build a bigger mine. * Recce isn't done by vehicles, recce is done by men carried by vehicles. * The Jackal isn't meant to shoot it out, it's meant to see and get out. * If you've got to cover the wide open spaces of Afghanistan the worst thing you can get is a stopped vehicle.
  16. Click a unit and press tab works for me. I generally go round like this and only mouse-fly to scout the terrain.
  17. I'm unlikely to view either as a suitable holiday destination.
  18. Why would anyone go to Dubai? I just don't see the attraction.
  19. What my sunlightally challenged friend is saying is that it sounds like your computer is full of eels. No, no. Sorry. What he actually means is that over time installing and un-installing programs eventually clogs up the registry (among other things). This is the system file that tells the computer where to find programs etc - assuming you're running windows. The best and most effective way to get rid of all that is to re-install windows afresh but this has the unfortunate side effect of wiping all your data; amusing photos of cats, special interest movies you've hidden and now can't find, copies of receipts you really must keep for things you've thrown away, programs you have installed etc. You can back all these up to a separate drive and do it - and it's probably a good idea that you do. But first give Crap Cleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/download a go. It'll get rid of a lot of the, well, crap, and give you a bit of a boost for a while. But really - the best thing is to back up everything you need and re-install. There's loads of how-to's on the net: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315341 Remember though - back up everything to a different drive. Did I say that already? Well I mean it.
