CMBN intro music

Recommended Posts

What? I thought the CMSF jingle was suberb! It reminded me a bit of the music for Desert Combat mod for Battlefield...I have a soft spot for this contemporary-ethnic fusion music. It really conveys the feeling of young men in a foreign country in an intricate fashion. :D

I think Wenn die Soldaten goes very well. Lili Marleen, on the other hand, is too slow for game music IMHO. When CMBN is released I will upload a music mod with the following hits:

Splash music: Maurice Chevalier - Fleur de Paris (1944) (fans of The Longest Day might prefer some version of Beethoven's 5th, 1st movement like

)

I am using this music in my upcoming iPad WW2 tactical combat game for the opening theme ...

and for the menu music (just prior to battle starting) this one ...

Thought the first, especially, evoked the heroic yet calm sense of battle I wanted as a theme.

Personally I like the idea of music accompanyment from the sounds of the time from either side of the battlefield. I think that classical music might be less distracting but other sounds might come across just as good.

I do think the songs from Marlene Dietrick would be a good choice, but if something like this was used it would be nice if there was a random play of other songs as well. Big band music might also be a good choice from the US side of the battlefield.

I happened to like it as well, perhaps because I've been deployed to the Middle East.
