  2. A couple of points: 1. Oh, I think ridiculing/making fun of a troll poster is not only good fun (and it is) but wholly appropriate as I for one am sick of posters who do not observe the common decencies of public discourse on the web (due to anonymity) when you KNOW they do not act like that in the real world. As ye sow…(and all that) And if they get pissed off and leave these boards, small loss. 2. Hair triggers? Hmmm…I for one have not seen any evidence of that reaction to criticisms of the game that is factually presented or presented as opinion in a non-abusive way. Kanzel’s post from earlier this week failed that test and he got what he deserved. 3. Inability to let criticisms stand? Again, what evidence can you offer here that this is actually the case? I have seen dozens of threads discussing some “hot button issues” and there will be more – just wait until the game releases. These threads are still here in all their critical glory. 4. A little respect goes a long way in this world, yes?
  3. By George, I think he's got it! But I do think you meant; "while NOT intentionally trying to irritate everyone".
  4. Good news for you sir. And...good news for all of us!!
  5. It will not make that module but fear not all my Brit buddies. Your UBER tank will be in there - the Cromwell.
  6. You said it... - The History Channel went from what used to nicknamed the "Hitler Channel" - for obvious reasons - to some weird amalgam of UFO themed shows and Construction themed shows - neither of which is "history" as any normal person understand that term to mean. - The CGI used on The Greatest Tank Battles series is dreadful - and so is the way they butcher the historical record. Don't even get me started on the repetition. I get ill just thinking about that show.
  7. I was just busting as I'll bet you are correct in your observation that the OP has a Deutchland Uber Alles mentality. I had it too, when I was 12.
  8. Whenever I read a post like the one in the OP I immediatly look at the post count and am never suprised to see a low one. Not stating that new members don't have something to contribute - BUT - when the OP is troll meat then the post count is gonna be low. Nitwits like our little Hitlerjugend Günzel for Kanzler have nothing constructive to offer - except the inherent entertainment value that ensues as all of you pile on.
  9. OK - so how does this work in CMBN? Do you have to get in there at eye level and place movement/facing vectors? Or do you tell the tank "go here" and the TC AI is smart enough to figure it out? (BTW, pardon my ignorance as I did not really PLAY CMSF - just tested the demo for graphics settings purposes.)
  10. Man, I am hoping not as that is my wife's birthday AND Mother's Day here in the US. Can't exactly toss the wife some candy and tell her; "Have a happy honey, now I'm off to blow $hit up!", now can I?
  11. What’s that? Colonists not exactly kind and generous to the indigenous population? The hell you say! Seriously (and sadly) that’s been the normal state of affairs since…forever. Oh I know that doesn’t make it right but one should be careful to account for the tenor of the times when judging historical events. After all, it wasn’t too long ago from a historical perspective that slavery was the norm and not merely the exception.
  12. Welcome back but speek for yourself RE: the Royal Nuptials. The coverage is nauseating. And why would any American celebrate autocracry? This "tie" was severed long ago for very good reasons.
  13. Tube Guy sees smoke - jumps up - and exclaims: "Ooooh look at the colors!!" ...as he takes one through the helmet.
  14. Straws are proffered. Straws are grasped. That's the life of the avid gamer.
  15. Vark summed it up well regards Arnhem. Don't leave out "A Bridge Too Far" for "the big picture" and pretty accurate reporting. RE: Ballantine Books - man I loved the pictures and I guess I can't fault those books too much as they sparked my interest in the history of WWII. RE: Peiper. Yes, turns out the old boy was not above burnishing his rep. One could literally write a book on KG Peiper in the Ardennes. Oh wait, Reynolds already did and "The Devil's Adjutant" is a tasty piece of micro history. * * Want to know whose Tiger II was KO'd on Stavelot's main street in that famous picture? Reynolds has your answer - and then some.
  16. Dude...calm down. I was actually commenting on your yearing for the "good old days" and how ironic that was considering that PC games were not available way back when. Having stated that, I agree that this is no place for a socio-ecoonomic discussion.
  17. After reading pages 150-154 in the manual all I can say about my earlier posts is "NEVERMIND". The WAV and BMP files come packed so you must unpack/mod/pack using the specialized tools provided by BF. Just follow MikeyD's instructions and forget about the rest of it.
  18. But you like to play PC games on a COMPUTER. OOOOOKKKKK.
  19. His books are undoubtedly well researched and he has an almost fetishistic need to use correct unit designations - which I really appreciate, BTW.* I have at least 3 of them. One minor criticsm: I do think his later works stoked a bit too much of the German Uber myth and not enough focus on the tremendous casualties that these tenacious SS units managed to rack up on BOTH attack and defense. *Some of the worst "history" to me are works that fail to adequatly identify units and equipment - as if all that was somehow tangential to the story. A book that comes to mind in this regard is "A Bitter Woods" by Eisenhower's son. The books best part was its title and proves the adage..."It's not what you know but who."
