Lets_All_Fight
Thanks for that. I just played a fantastic QB on that map: Company v company. Some StuGs, some Shermans and a battery of long toms... with the speakers up the neighbours must have been wondering what was going in when that first fire mission came in!
Agua
Think I saw in the mod forum that Tom from TCMHQ was making both of those along with a Ramelle map.

Oddball_E8
OMG! i was just about to go on here and ask someone to make chance encounter forgot what the other classics were named (been a while) but now i want them too of course me and my buddy used to play these in hotseat over and over (of course we modified them over time, but still) and it would be sooooooo nostalgic to play them again
Bastables
Everything else was a pretender, the greatest demo level will always be chance encounter. Crappy green German volk wielding MP40s troops versus regular java swilling GI made for the best asymmetrical battle.
Dingchavez
In case you guys didn't notice, there is a mission editor in the game, so instead of "requesting" things, why don't you get the job done yourselves ?
BloodyBucket
In case you guys didn't notice, there is a mission editor in the game, so instead of "requesting" things, why don't you get the job done yourselves ? So far, my maps look like something that Bart Simpson would do in the last five minutes of class on a sunny day. But, I'm trying.

TCMHQ
Hi Gents, as Agua mentioned before, I´m working on CMBN conversions of "Chance Encounter" and "Valley Of Trouble". Since I am new to the CMx2 engine, this is much more work than I expected.... for example: 16 CMBO tiles now means 100 CMBN tiles to be edited ! Some screenshots of WIP: Chance Encounter (80% done). You won´t see much details from this perspective, but you will find these on ground level view. View from the "Grammond Cafe" to the "St. Grammond Abbey":D Valley of Trouble (25% done) View form the western hights to the northern wheatfield The Village Chance Encounter will be finished during the next week ....Stay tuned Kind regards Tom

Lets_All_Fight
This will mean we will have had Chance encounter for every single CM game - except Afghanistan as far as I know. Hmmm, there's a project...

BloodyBucket
I have a soft spot for "Valley of Trouble". I still remember having a Sherman 105 take out that re-enforcing Panther at close range with a shot from behind, after I sent it tearing up the road once I thought I'd broken through. I must have replayed that turn 5O times. Doesn't seem possible it was that long ago...
Franko
August Bank Holiday and Malmedy. Make it so Wait those are commonwealth and bulge... Make it so in the future!!! As the original author of ABH, I have dibs.
CaptainFoobar
Franko, I vow to ONLY play your version of August Bank Holiday. I will take yours as Canon Scripture. Hope to see it done soon, it is a piece of our shared heritage here! Foobar
goodwood
VOT I played that demo scenario more than any scenario from any other game ever! My favorite two memories from that scenario both relate to the panther on the hill. One as the geman that panther actually run out of ammo no ap, he or mg ammo. The second one and still my most memorable gaming experience, playing as the US I manged to get a zook to the top of the hill where the panther was disabled, the zook was in a dip just in front of the Panther and as we know the zook can't take it out from the front so I had the team dash around to the rear, in my amazement on the replay you see this zook team run like mad as the panther turret rotates, the ZT manages to keep milliseconds ahead and dashes behind and into a depression behind the tank. A gem of a CM scene.
Broadsword56
I was never much of a CMAK or CMBO player, so what's the story behind these classic missions with such a devoted cult following like Chance Encounter or Valley of Trouble? What are the situations of those scenarios, and what about them made them so near and dear to players' hearts?
DaddyO
Valley Of Trouble was, shall we say, APTLY named.
Michael Emrys
Valley Of Trouble was, shall we say, APTLY named. I took one look at it and ran the other way. I may be stupid, but I'm no masochist. Michael
