  1. There is something terribly wrong with the mechanics with tank riders, I have seen ruskies sit on tanks until every man becomes a casualty. Not even the thickest or toughest Russian soldier of WW2 is going sit on a tank to become mincemeat. After a few dead comrades moving or not I'd be making a fast exit. This is a top priority for the first patch IMHO. How do you say Battlefront.
  2. I thought that was the case. It is sad how some things are not in the new engine, that in the original game, eg fires flamethrowers aa engaging air targets, such is life Ned would have said.

  7. G'day, I have been a member of this forum since 1999, and have bought every every game in the CM stable other than Afghanistan. I have played all of them to death, and I have rarely questioned the game mechnicanics The issue that has peeved me off in the latter versions of the franchise is the pathing of vehicles. Nothing peeves me off more in any game I have ever played than the idiotic performance of vehicles moving in circles and turning their soft end to the enemy fire. This has been around for several years now and it appears that the good folk at BFC are not bothered fixing this issue, it spoils what is an excellent game. I just watched my SPW 250 H/T recce vehicle do quick waltz, like it was on a ballroom dance floor, for the 60 sec turn it spun around in circles, waltzed backwards and forward and finely exposing its butt to infantry small arms fire, needless to say it ended up on the scrap iron pile. Very disappointing. Please Battlefront fix this problem before offering another module. It should be your priority as it does not do any justice to a great game. Ron

  12. Bloodybucket, I amazed you so much out of your dad, my dad died in a 1993. He was a veteran of Syria, The Western Desert and PNG and a member of the famed 2/14 Inf Bn 2nd AIF. The only things I ever got out of my father from WW2 was that he learnt to hate the desert the jungle and rice!
  13. VOT I played that demo scenario more than any scenario from any other game ever! My favorite two memories from that scenario both relate to the panther on the hill. One as the geman that panther actually run out of ammo no ap, he or mg ammo. The second one and still my most memorable gaming experience, playing as the US I manged to get a zook to the top of the hill where the panther was disabled, the zook was in a dip just in front of the Panther and as we know the zook can't take it out from the front so I had the team dash around to the rear, in my amazement on the replay you see this zook team run like mad as the panther turret rotates, the ZT manages to keep milliseconds ahead and dashes behind and into a depression behind the tank. A gem of a CM scene.
  14. New hero segment, This was a small QB Germans defending a town. The Americans approached the town with a small number of infantry and 4 shermans. This inf squad earned their keep

  17. Unbelievable! I have been fiddling with the map editor for the past few days building an ultra map, just to see what can be achieved. The detail in this game is staggering. In the map I have created I have an orchard with some farm buildings and some x tall grass. I was at ground zoomed right in checking my map when i noticed the grass waving back and forward in the wind, not exceptional in itself, however change the wind parameters from a north wind to an east wind and viewing from the same spot, the waving grass bobs back and forward according wind direction, truly amazing or do i need to find some more work to do? I am totally immersed in this map maker.
  18. i have pretty good eye sight and I have trouble distinguishing the difference between shades! I think they need changing.

Sergei, the items in the Ground #1 tab amongst other things there are two icons for light and heavy forest, one would assume these icons are for forests big trees etc, however your comment suggests there are ground cover and should used in conjunction with other trees, is this correct? On the subject of trees I want to make an Olive grove, an area of medium size trees in neat rows, there doesn't appear to be any such item to do this.
  22. This is a bit unfortunate it restricts the map making a little, no lakes at a higher level. Also has anyone experienced the dense forest problem?
  23. I have a couple of issues with the editor 1. Water and bridges and ponds seem to be an issue. I am trying to put a jetty on a pond but it stays below the water line and whilst on subject of water I've tried to place a small pond (5 tiles big) on the map at a greater height than a river I created earlier. The height of the river is at level 18 and the pond around 30 all it shows on the 3D view as a dirty great hole in the ground. Also when you try to place dense forest it shows as low foliage in the 3d view. I am still having problems smoothing the terrain, I'm getting better at it, but I'm not sure if the editor is all that friendly. Finally I have had a ball creating a map tonight, I have spent hours on it
  24. Yep Win 64 bit, but why's that prtscrn works on other games like WITE?
