LemoN
Hello future brothers in IS-2! Today I come to you to spread the wisdom and enlightenment of the Holy IS-2, THE GREATEST TANK OF WWII! In it's infinite wisdom the IS-2 pointed it's sacred 122mm D25-T main gun at me and told me to spread the word to this forum as there appears to be a large following of the abomination that calls itself "King Tiger", which is just a blasphemous name for it's real name, the "King Tractor". So, who and what is the IS-2 you may ask? Well, obviously, it's the Iosif Stalin 2 tank. But the IS-2 also is the creator of anything we know. It's sacred 122mm D25-T main gun, the glorious DT-1928 coaxial machine gun, the holy rear mounted DT-1928 machine gun, and it's mighty cupola mounted DShK air attack HMG created everything you see. Now you may ask, why is it that the King Tractor (from now on abbreviated as KT) is inferior? Well, for the first part... does it have a sacred 122mm main gun? No? Well, I didn't think so! Does it have a rear-mounted machine gun? No? Hah, point proven! Compared to the IS-2 every other tank is a mere tractor only fit to plough fields. Now future brothers in IS-2 I have the honour to present you "THE BEGINNING"! The Beginning In the beginning the IS-2, the greatest tank of WWII, created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of IS-2 was hovering over the waters. And the IS-2 fired it's holy 122mm D25-T gun and said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. IS-2 saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. IS2 called the light “Communism” and the darkness he called “Fascism” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. And IS-2 said, “Let there be a vault between the tanks to separate tanks from tractors.” So IS-2 made the vault and separated the tractors under the vault from the tanks above it. And it was so. IS-2 called the vault “Heaven” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. And IS-2 said, “Let the tractors under the heaven be gathered to one place, and let rust to bits, due they were inferrior to him.” And it was so. IS-2 called the pile of rusted tractors “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And IS-2 saw that it was good. Then IS-2 said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds, so the filthy tractors could try to camouflage themselves.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And IS-2 saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day. And the glorious IS-2 fired it's mighty D25-T main gun into the heaven two times and said, “Let there be two BR-471 rounds in the vault of the heaven to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the heaven to give light on the earth.” And it was so. IS-2 made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. IS-2 fired it's holy rear-mounted DT-28 into the heaven so the sacred 7.62x54R tracers could give light on the earth, govern the day and the night, and separate light from darkness. And IS-2 saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day. And IS-2 said, “Let the water teem with lesser tractors, and let mini-tractors fly above the earth across the vault of the heaven.” So IS-2 created the lesser tractors of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged tractor according to its kind. And IS-2 saw that it was good. IS-2 blessed the lesser tractors and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day. And IS-2 said, “Let the land produce lesser tractors according to their kinds: the light tractors, the medium tractors that move along the ground, and the heavy tractors, each according to its kind.” And it was so. IS-2 made the heavy tractors according to their kinds, the medium tractors according to their kinds, and all the light tanks that move along the ground according to their kinds. And IS-2 saw that it was good. Then IS-2 said, “Let us make tanks in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the tractors in the sea and the tractors in the sky, over the medium tractors and all the heavy tractors, and over all the light tractors that move along the ground.” So IS-2 created tanks in his own image, in the image of IS-2 he created them; male and female he created them. IS-2 blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the tractors in the sea and the tractors in the sky and over every living tractor that moves on the ground.” Then IS-2 said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the tractors of the earth and all the tractors in the sky and all the tractors that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for camouflage, for they need it.” And it was so. IS-2 saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. PRAISE THE LORD OUR IS-2!
ChrisND
As an IS-2 fundamentalist, I am angry that the passage describing the wailing of gnashing of German tank gears was not included.

LemoN
As an IS-2 fundamentalist, I am angry that the passage describing the wailing of gnashing of German tank gears was not included. Fear not brother in IS-2! This post was only a start, other passages of the "Holy Book Of IS-2™" will follow soon! Sergei
Damned Stalinists! KV-1 is the best tank, hands down. IS-2 was still sucking on her mother's teet when Klim Voroshilov was feared by everyone west of Volga.
Asmodeus
It was also a good read. Although we can contest your One True Light. Whose is the right, whose is not. Maybe we see this with the oncoming ostfront-module/-sequel.
zukkov
this reminds me of one of the planet of the apes movies. a religion was based on an unexploded atomic bomb. i can testify though that the is2 is not always the way. i just finished a qb with combined arms. my armor budget would only allow 2 of the holy is2's. by the end i wish i had the 5 t34s i could have had.

Peter Cairns
Well I have a soft spot for all british tanks from the Churchill through the Crusader to the Cromwell. They were all crap but I just like the fact that Britain went to war with tanks that looked like they were built in a shed at the bottom of the garden. Peter.

A hint - The grey silhou behind the 2nd vehicle is an M48 to scale.

ChrisND
The only successful counter to the IS-2 is the British Balloon Tank. The only successful counter to the Balloon Tank is flechette rounds.
