M1A1TC
Posted on Apr 10: "M1A1TC, We'll release a list fairly soon. We're still messing around with some of the details even though the basic models are done. The extra upgrades to Humvees is something we are looking into. Steve " Hey Steve, its been over two weeks, could you post that list please?
Pvt. Ryan
You should know by now that "fairly soon" can mean up to 6 months with BFC.
Cpl Steiner
I have a question regarding the new vehicles. Will we be able to add an "empty" vehicle from the Marines TOE and allow existing units to crew it? In other words, could a Stryker recon platoon be given an upgraded Humvee from the Marines module?
Homo ferricus
Quit breaking Steve's balls. We are all anxious and want our favorite vehicles to be on the list, but for crying out loud, even if asking helped, don't rush the guys!

Battlefront.com
I haven't forgotten We've made some last minute changes and additions (yup, more stuff!). I'm preparing a general update on the Marines Module status, including a vehicle list. It will be posted to the Blog and I hope that will be very soon. (i.e. less than 6 months ) Cpl Steiner, Yes, you can mix and match. A nifty idea, actually! What you'd do is something like this: Buy a Stryker Rifle Platoon and delete all the Strykers. Then purchase something like a Marines Assault Amphibian Platoon and delete everything but the AAV-7s. Bingo, done. You'd have a Marine crew manning the AAV-7s, though, which I don't think would please the Marines out there ("f'n Army has more stuff than us to begin with, so why should we have to give them a ride?" ). This is because different crews for different vehicles are necessary (3 men for the AAV vs. 2 men for a Stryker) and we don't want to spend time coding around this. Not a good use of our time, I think people will agree! Keep in mind that Marines have 13 men in their Squads, so trying to stuff them into Strykers won't work unless you split them. You'd then have to have twice as many Strykers too. So things can get a bit complicated! Steve
Sequoia
Sweet, but with vehicles like the uparmmored humvee, wouldn't it be really easy just to add it to the Army TO & E if you're doing it anyway?
Battlefront.com
Yes, but since the current Army stuff must be available to all players this means that any uparmored Humvees, for example, would have to be given away to everybody and not a part of the Module. I'm not saying we won't do something like that, I'm just pointing out that we can't have two different ways of handling the common data. YankeeDog
Sweet! Vehicle models look great, and I'm especially happy we're going to get the 6x6 truck; convoy ambush/protection scenarios are a lot of fun, but they're a bit dull visually, with only humvees to represent the soft skins. On another note: 3 M32 grenade launchers per squad?! Great googly moogly, that's a lot of firepower at the squad level! I can't imagine a squad can carry enough grenades feed those grenade launchers for too long before running out, but that first salvo should be damn impressive. . . handihoc
Those Marines vehicles are totally bizarre. Never seen anything like them. What are the ones depicted in those pics?
YankeeDog
That's the AAV-7, workhorse of the USMC amphibious assault for over 25 years now. Should be fun to play with. Fully amphibious (though this doesn't really come into play in CMSF). Max 45mm armor protection. So it's proof against any small arms, but certainly vulnerable to larger stuff. The reactive armor is a recent addition that should give it a better chance of surviving at least a couple of RPG-7 hits. Those pictures don't quite show it, but they're also the size of a small house. Capable of carrying 25 dismounts (though it must look like clowns in camo when they all pile out!). .50 MG and 40mm grenade launcher in the turret. It will be interesting to compare and contrast them with the Stryker. Though it is important to keep in mind that many of the capability differences between the vehicles are more operational, rather than tactical in nature. Cheers, YD
Sequoia
Interesting that the Marine vehicles are in temperate camouflage. So is the list final, or maybe, just maybe, could we see some surprises? cough-uparmored Humvee-cough.

Battlefront.com
The official load for the AAV-7 is 3 crew (driver, gunner, commander) and 18 dismounts, which is 21 total. In theory more can be packed in there, but the TO&E doesn't require this. The extra room is filled with the Marines' other essentials (cigars, X-Boxes and games, booze made from hydraulic fluid, porn, those funny campaign hats, etc.) Steve
handihoc
Thanks guys. Great stuff. Big fun coming. Really looking forward to testing out those monsters and all the other new stuff. Real life may just have to get out of my way for a while.
