What's an Ohion? An Aussie version of an onion?

Being a proud Ohioan, I can only assume that you're attempting to slam the people of my great state, but with your usual gooberish ways, are once again, failing miserably.

Keep up the mediocre work. It's how we know it's you.

You know what they say about 'assume'..it makes an 'ass out of you and you'.

The people of your great state are quite adapt at slamming themselves without my help.

Hello, you lot. I will give you now, all my news.

On Thursday, the 16th, I had dinner with my family. We talked of many weighty matters, and I told some bad jokes.

On Friday, the 17th, I had dinner with two friends of mine. One went off to milk goats. One drove me home and helped me into the house, and threw away all my mail, which had overflowed the love seat onto the floor. We listened to Shawn Colvin's 'Riding Shotgun Down the Avalanche'

On Saturday, the 18th, Seanachai cried, for a while, in the mid-afternoon. On or about 2:15 PM my little sister, Kat, died peacefully of respiratory failure after being removed from the life support that has sustained her for the last two weeks. She had defeated cancer for the fourth time, but her lungs were too damaged by Chemotherapy and inflammation to sustain her.

"No! I fight on! I fight on! I fight on!

Yes, all my laurels you have riven away

And all my roses; yet in spite of you,

There is one crown I bear away with me,

And to-night, when I enter before God,

My salute shall sweep all the stars away

From the blue threshold! One thing without stain,

Unspotted from the world, in spite of doom

Mine own! —

And that is

My white plume..."

Well Seanachi it looks you, Hiram and I have become part of a club that we really don't want to be part of.

I lost my sister two months ago to cancer as well.

Grab a drink, and let us toast our sister's memories - people who contributed so much to making our lives so much better.

Cheers.

I am deeply sorry to hear this, I really wish I could write something here to make you feel better but alas I don't believe anything I would write would be able to really raise your spirits at this time.

Let me add the same goes for you and Hiram as well Mace, my post apeared after I saw your above post.

Bummer, Seanachai. Oddly enough, I thought some of your posts in the last week were vintage. Don't know how you managed with all the rest going on.

Well, what more can we say, but reassure you that we truly hate you, and naturally, you are among friends here.

Err...not "here" as in The Mutha' Beautiful Thread, but the bigger "here"...

Seanachai

Words can be empty, but beside the heartfelt pain that I feel for you and your family, words are all that I can give.

What through the radiance which was once so bright

Be now forever taken from my sight,

Though nothing can bring back the hour

Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;

We will grieve not, rather find

Strength in what remains behind;

In the primal sympathy

Which having been must ever be;

In the soothing thoughts that spring

Out of human suffering;

In the faith that looks through death,

In years that bring the philosophic mind.

And O, ye fountains, meadows, hills and groves,

Forbode not any severing of our loves!

Yet in my heart of hearts I feel your might;

I only have relinquished one delight

To live beneath your more habitual sway.

I love the brooks which down their channels fret,

Even more than when I tripped lightly as they;

The innocent brightness of a new-born day

Is lovely yet;

The clouds that gather round the setting sun

Do take a sober colouring from an eye

That hath kept watch o'er man's mortality;

Another race hath been, and other palms are won.

Thanks to the human heart by which we live,

Thanks to its tenderness, its joys, and fears,

To me, the meanest flower that blows, can give

Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears.

Hey now, little speedyhead,

The read on the speedmeter says

You have to go to task in the city

Where people drown and people serve.

Don't be shy. Your just deserve

Is only just light years to go.

Me, my thoughts are flower strewn

Ocean storm, bayberry moon.

I have got to leave to find my way.

Watch the road and memorize

This life that pass before my eyes.

Nothing is going my way.

The ocean is the river's goal,

A need to leave the water knows

We're closer now than light years to go.

I have got to find the river,

Bergamot and vetiver

Run through my head and fall away.

Leave the road and memorize

This life that pass before my eyes.

Nothing is going my way.

There's no one left to take the lead,

But I tell you and you can see

We're closer now than light years to go.

Pick up here and chase the ride.

The river empties to the tide.

Fall into the ocean.

The river to the ocean goes,

A fortune for the undertow.

None of this is going my way.

There is nothing left to throw

Of Ginger, lemon, indigo,

Coriander stem and rose of hay.

Strength and courage overrides

The privileged and weary eyes

River poet search naivete.

Pick up here and chase the ride.

The river empties to the tide.

All of this is coming your way.

Find The River

Joe, Joe, I apologize for having not reminded you:

The bright small rectangular window way up high is the BACK of the theater, the big screen with the giant robots and death rays and dirigibles and other cool things is the FRONT of the theater.

I should have known you'd face the wrong way.

Ah, first post with words in a while.

I tend to hide by building models and then posting pics of them.

Seanachai, Mace, it's not easy for me to type comforting words when they seem so hollow. I've mourned my sister for three years now. When I was supposed to be celebrating her and helping to ease her passing, I was in Georgia. I would visit every once in a while and help out.

I'm sorry to hear of her passing, Steven. But, I choose to believe that our sisters are in a better place. I believe that while we are carnal, our better siblings were good and deserve to be in a good place.

I spoke my heart at my little sister's funeral and would like to share some of that with you two now. We are left with some bitterness and anger at the pain and helplessness they went through. But, we can chose to continue on and honor their memory. Remember how they impacted our lives and do all you can to honor them.

Seanachai and Mace, my thoughts are with you now. All the best.

As the time draws nigh glooming a cloud,

A dread beyond of I know not what darkens me.

I shall go forth,

I shall traverse the States awhile, but I cannot tell whither or how long,

Perhaps soon some day or night while I am singing my voice will

suddenly cease.

O book, O chants! must all then amount to but this?

Must we barely arrive at this beginning of us? --and yet it is

enough, O soul;

O soul, we have positively appear'd--that is enough.

--Walt Whitman

Seanachai my good old friend ... this is for you!

Dim the Implanter, just exactly what in the name of all that's holy do you think you're doing? I quote from the first post to this incarnation of the Mutha Beautiful Thread ... ahem ...

Now, as an SSN, you only have one thing to do. SOD OFF! That’s our little way of telling you to hit the road, take a hike, hie thee hence and git stoofed.
I call your attention especially to the last as it seems entirely appropriate to YOU.

This is the Peng Challenge Thread. It is a thread devoted to the fine art of challenging with some wit, charm and panache ... in other words it's designed as a forum in which the worthy may bash and denigrate other worthies to within an inch of their lives. You apparently mistook it for a thread that caters to those who ARE Challenged ... else I can't for the life of me determine why you're here.

I note that you've no email in your profile nor even a general location (might as well put down Planet Earth since United States of America is one of only two choices ... the other being ... Somewhere Else. How do we know, for example, that you're NOT from some ill favored place like Florida or Ohio?) Both are no-no's here lad, we'll know where you're from and how to contact you in the unlikely (EXTREMELY unlikely) event that we CHOOSE to contact you.

Therefore ... SOD OFF!

Joe

p.s. Seanachai take your time my friend, but return to us, we miss you when you're gone.

p.p.s. dalem STUPID AND BORING ... and THAT was when it was good.

Seanachai,

That's a bugger. Give her the grief and mourning that she deserved, that's what remains to us left behind temporarily as ancestor worshippers.

Dalem and Sturmysebber Apologies for lack of turns. It isn't that I think you are utterly contemptuous & unworthy, though that is the case, it is just that my email was stuffing up, and then went on holiday. Now in Banff, Canada, will be back home to the pollution of Jakarta in a week or so.

Ta ta for now.

Seanachai hold fast, friend. I've never met you or your sister, but your sporadic posts about her have made me feel like I knew her, if only a little. My thoughts are with you and her, wherever she is.
