rocketman
Images says it all. One side of the large church building is bugged so you can see through the solid walls and units outside can see through the wall as well and both can shoot through it like it has windows. The other side works as intended and blocks LOS.
Erwin
Was the wall previously damaged by fire? Have seen walls that were damaged (altho' one cannot see any) be "porus". If it's a brand new wall, then yes, an issue.
rocketman
No damage, this is straight from the editor.
Warts 'n' all
I detect Papist trickery. But then I would say that.

Sgt.Squarehead
Could the door at ground level be a factor somehow?
Erwin
If a unit is on any floor with no openings there should not be any LOS to the outside unless the building is damaged. Have often resorted to using a demo charge to blast such a wall to create a good firing or observation point just for that reason.
Sgt.Squarehead
Yeah.....Units shouldn't be able to run though the corners of interlinked building clusters either, but they can and they sometimes do.
Erwin
Well, we know there are lots of bugs.
Sgt.Squarehead
Yes. But there's a door (& windows) on the problem side and there doesn't appear to be anything on the OK side.....To me that looks like a clue. If I were guessing, there's probably some sort of (IMHO dubious in this instance) abstaction going on related to that door (&/or windows). Erwin
Have played a lot in buildings similar to that in the pic and cannot recall ever having LOS out of a blank wall as depicted above (unless that wall was damaged). So, in this example, it looks like a bug.
Sgt.Squarehead
That's an independent buiding, so I'm not as familiar with it as I am with the more usual modular types.....If it were a modular building displaying this behaviour I'd asolutely agree with you (and @MOS:96B2P would be gutted as some of his best work would now be utterly broken). Hence my theory (and that's all it is) about abstraction relating to the very obvious doors & windows. There are windows and the door in an identical pattern on the other side, but this appearance is the result of another visual bug that I have reported:
Sgt.Squarehead
Hmmmm.....That buggers that idea then.
Bulletpoint
A related issue maybe: The small church in CMBN does not let you fire out the back, even though the texture shows through small windows there.
rocketman
@BFCElvis or someone else, can this please be confirmed and logged as a bug and added to the "to do"-list?

Thanks. I just tried to recreate it in Fire and Rubble and it looks like it's fixed. I'd expect that next time there is a patch that the fix will be applied to all games.
rocketman
Good if that building is an identical model shared with the one in FI. Note that it only concerns one side of the building. Will there be a round of patches when F&R is released?
