Kieme(ITA)
THanks for sharing, I have seen a BMP-1 in the second video. Not surprised there are some remaining there, but I doubdt they'll be in CMBS. From the same source: T64BV
emccabe
I think there was video of a Ukrainian btr hitting a mine and flying off the road but I cant seem to find it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec65wROiVIY
Erwin
With the helmet camera it looks scarily like a video game. Interesting to see actual small unit tactics and what real soldiers do and how they react. Rather different from CM2.
kuri
Wonder where the rebels got that T-72 from when the Ukrainians are using T-64 exclusively (rethorical question btw). Also amusing how the rebels claim to have plenty of disposable RPGs, guess the local gun stores had a huge surplus.

Luckily for these soldiers they don't have someone on a keyboard or mouse giving em human wave orders in a desperate bid to win points...

agusto
Luckily for these soldiers they don't have someone on a keyboard or mouse giving em human wave orders in a desperate bid to win points... Or even worse, someone who orders a squad to clear a minefield by running through it until all mines are exploded .
AttorneyAtWar
Ukranian Army 300mm Smerch Rocket artillery firing- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6nttvUpWhg Those rockets are huge, I would hate to be on the other end of these things!
Erwin
Impressive. What they shooting at? The Ocean? Good way to catch large quantities of fish. It was interesting as I had thought that the crews were supposed to stay in the armored transports when firing missiles. You'd think they would be vulnerable to counter measures outside.

emccabe
does the Ukrainian military have a standard uniform because from what I have seen in pictures and videos it looked like they used whatever they could get their hands on some of them had a british desert
Ghost of Charlemagne
Ukranian Army 300mm Smerch Rocket artillery firing- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6nttvUpWhg Those rockets are huge, I would hate to be on the other end of these things! Sorry to be an ass, but those are not 300mm BM30s, but 220mm BM27s. The reason why I know that for a fact is that the Ukrainians don't have BM30s, only BM27s.
Saferight
does the Ukrainian military have a standard uniform because from what I have seen in pictures and videos it looked like they used whatever they could get their hands on some of them had a british desert The standard i believe before the war was variants of the soviet ttsko pattern uniforms. Now you see lots of paramilitaries and guys drawn up for service bringing their own stuff bought or donated from the surplus market like the desert dpm you mentioned.

Dim
I recently saw an interview with a Ukrainian soldier in the ATO who said they hadnt been supplied with enough uniforms, boots, food and ammunition. This could explain the rag-tag appearance. They arent very happy with their leadership right now it seems. I can dig out the interview if anyone is interested?

Sakai007
What really strikes home watching these videos is the terrain they fight in. Watching the endless videos from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan shows a lot of sandy terrain, mountains and some light vegetation. These videos from the Ukraine look like they could have been shot on the road that leads to my house.... Lots of foliage, familiar housing, street signs that would make sense to me if I were there. Kind of crazy to think that it is indeed possible I may have to set an ambush somewhere on the main road that runs through the island (connected to main land by bridges) to stop some badness from coming through. Civil War is anything but civil, and seems to be in vogue this decade.....
Saferight
what happened was I saw a ton of different camo pattern in use so including foreign like ACU's so I thought it was mostly donated stuff but this raises another question why use that many different camo patterns what not use just one or two Well most militaries i've seen do that its either from desperation and lack of supply or its just by decisions from above picking patterns/uniforms. So for the Ukrainians and the rebels its because they have no choice. But if you look at lets say the Germans in WW2 with their variety or the Russians through the Chechen wars till kinda recently it can be by choice.

Kieme(ITA)
I am following this blog, from a Ukrainian point of view, various arguments but there's a good research imho, sharing it if someone is interested: Careful, some pictures posted there might not be good if you are too sensible. http://ukraineatwar.blogspot.it/
Dim
Really interesting to see international volunteers in there, I didnt really expect that. Theres a huge contrast in stories from both sides, which is to be expected I guess. It would be nice to see see some truly unbiased reporting on the situation, but the nature of the whole conflict makes that pretty unlikely to happen. Time will tell in the end I guess. Thanks to everyone for your contributions.
Tempestzzzz
What? They don't issue their airborne troops GPS? Speaks volumes to me. Don't worry-nothing graphic. Just interrogations. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=1c9_1409057289 And of course you see how the POW's social media posts come back to haunt the POW.
