  1. I dream about wide variety of head cover used by both sides (like balaclavas, caps, helmets and bandanas) being implemented in the game.
  2. 4 x T-64BW and 1 BMP-2 captured by rebels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AAnB700DW0
  3. I refered to the way they prepare reports about world armed conflicts. Too bad for you, as this thread is about it. In fact your posts are counterproductive as they detoriate from the subject and contribute nothing. I honestly think they should be deleted. -------- And here - an interesting video of Saur Mogila- a place of fierce battle over the last month. It is a strategically located hill and burial mound giving the controller an unobstructed view of several dozen miles in all directions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eeu3WBfCNQ Note that war memorial -pictured here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savur-Mohyla#mediaviewer/File:%D0%A1%D0%B0%D1%83%D1%80-%D0%9C%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%B8%D0%BB%D0%B0.jpg -on the top has been completly destroyed. 4. There is no 'new' invasion. Russians have been there for a long time providing armor, weapon, specialist gear and personel to man it. It is estimated there are around 1k regular Russian troops (volunteers -officially on the leave) and 4k Russian mercenaries. It is also highly probable that Russian staff officers are the ones preparing separatists' operational plans. There is no 'hard' proof but many clues exist. The current 'invasion' outrage is more about concealing the disasters of Ukrainnian army. Ukrainian private TV stations keep finding new proofs of treason in Ukrainnian headquarters and hundreds of people in Kiev have demanded the Ukrainnian president and head of the staff to answer for poor leadership and take immediate actions to free thousands of surrounded Ukrainian troops. The crowd is actually torn between different demands. The radicals strive for greater military effort while families of surrounded soldiers demand immediate ceasefire. The morale is poor, whole units desert or surrender. Here, the Ukrainian journalist confirms http://reporter-ua.com/2014/08/27/cherez-blokpost-v-zaporozhe-pytalis-proehat-400-vooruzhennyh-soldat-pokinuvshih-pozicii-v that territorial defence unit of 400 soldiers decided to leave the fight and go home. When halted they gave away their gear but refused to give hand weapons before they reach their home place. To add fuel to the fire after Putin's appeal separatists offered to create a corridor to let surrounded Ukrainian troops through (after disarming of course). I really like Vice News. Pretty solid journalism. EDIT: some more footage, a bit old but still interesting: Russian tanks in the town of Torez:

  6. I think so. They also use a single yellow vertical line.
  7. "It was yours, now it is ours, thank you brothers Ukrainians"-says separatist female fighter near the captured Ukrainian APC: Confimed loses of Ukrainian aircraft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ukrainian_aircraft_losses_during_the_2014_pro-Russian_unrest_in_Ukraine Very interesting interactive map of the conflict maintained by several bloggers: http://cassad.net/?do=warmarker The flashing red points to the se of Donetsk: 7.000 Ukrainian troops are surrounded near Ilovaysk. It is confirmed here http://inforesist.org/itogi-dnya-26-avgusta/ by official Ukrainian army source and dramatic appeal for help by one of the National Guard commanders who also accuses the army headquarters of treason: http://inforesist.org/semenchenko-zhdat-bolshe-nechego-nas-obmanuli-v-ocherednoj-raz/ Note, that English version of the same website completely ignores situation of surrounded forces and provides international reader with a map that not only gives no single clue about it but deliberately shows lost strategic points (like Saur-Grave) as Ukrainian controlled: http://en.inforesist.org/situation-in-the-ato-zone-27-august-map/ Ilovaysk, place of the fiercest battles during last weeks: More Ilovaysk footage (can overlap some previously linked videos)
  8. The Ukrainian president (pictured here) would probably disagree with you http://pbs.twimg.com/media/BteVudbIUAA-W5L.jpg ...having T-72B behind his back :-)

  10. Bold statement about me and the conflict for someone living on the far side of the globe and buidling his knowledge from US and EU media -both fueled by Ukrainian official propaganda. I can tell you that you are wrong. Ukrainians launched several assaults that cost them thousands of lives and yet they lost all advances they made during last week. Morale of regular army is shattered, soldiers openly accuse their commanders of treason. They face well trained mercenaries as well as determined and motivated locals- expertly commanded by Russian army officers and equipped with most modern Russian gear. How many more lives they are going to sacrifice to make another push? Time is running out. If they can't win till November it is a game over. If you are more polite I can tell you about Strelkov's conflict with "Vostock" batallion commander Alexandr Chodakovski, the reason of the conflict and why Strelkov was forced to leave the position. Staging a coup to remove a legally elected president (chosen in a free, direct elections by majority of voters) is democracy? You really expected that engineering a hostile regime change near the Russia's border would go with no response? And please...stop that 'democracy' bs. Everyone already knows it is just crap excuse to ruin a country (like Iraq) and steal its resources.
  11. I do not want to question your qualities as Russian weapon expert, but I do not think it is good to assume Russians can't or don't want to produce weapons able to penetrate armor of main tank of their biggest enemy. To be honest, I think that real capabilities are a matter of a guess to some extent - due to lack of 100% reliable data but as we had no real life modern gear confrontation so far I find your superiority confidence disturbing while waiting for credible game with some realism implemented. Certainly a lot is going under the 'official' surface. Just to remind you that Russian military experts are still discussing the new jamming system tested against 'Donald Cook'
  12. Because Ukrainians are the ones suffering serious loses. In fact disproportion in loses is mindnumbing. The numbers in wikipedia are misleading, majority of listed armor is inoperational - can serve as spare parts and replacements though. The progress you write about is sheer propganda, insurgents stepped back and built their defences upon Donetzk, Gorlovka, Lugansk. All attempts to encircle those cities have failed so far as well as efforts to cut the road connections between them. Most recent situation: http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/kot_ivanov/71733898/22025/22025_original.jpg Video interview with Ukrainian troops about the loses (with english subtitles): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POQqlvKjDgg Maybe it is not an all out conflict yet but Russian troops are surely involved. Russian artillery suports the insurgents and small Russian specialist units operate along them. Not to mention the steady flow of weapons and mercenaries. Very good study on the reasons of the conflict: http://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/141769/john-j-mearsheimer/why-the-ukraine-crisis-is-the-wests-fault
  13. I would like to see the player rewarded with points for minimizing loses and saving the wounded. Also, the progress in medicine significantly changed the proportions between the wounded and dead I I'd love to see this reflected in the game.
  14. The Ukrainian transport shot down earlier was flying at almost 8km. A month ago separatists took SA-11 system from Ukrainian base. Ukrainians dismissed the threat claiming the system was not 'operational'. Well...it is obviously operational. So why threat was so easily ignored? Why the plane was allowed to fly over the warzone along the different route than before? I am pretty sure accusing Russians will prove false again and US sources will pinpoint the launch place as Ukraine terriotory (virtual beer for everyone if it proves otherwise). Just look who benefits from the accident. This is an attention magnet Ukraine dreamt of, they are losing the war.
  15. This is highly probable separatists did shot the plane down as a mistake. They probably wanted to shoot down Ukrainian plane carring water and food for 3 encircled Ukrainian brigades. There is a speculation that Ukrainian military copied the route of civilian plane and failed to warn the pilot (on purpose?) he was entering the war zone. EDIT: The pilot changed the course to the south before the crash, it is going to be interesting if investigators can discover who ordered him to do so.
