kohlenklau
I finally added some snow down into the track links...
A Canadian Cat
Looking good. Just looking for clarification these snow and frosty vehicles do they only appear in games where there is snow on the ground? Or is it all the time?
kohlenklau
We modtagged the bmp's as [snow]. Just paste them as a folder in your z folder. Fire and forget. The game program will then ONLY show them if your ground condition in the scenario is set to light now or snow. But not patchy snow. AFAIK. I put on a coat of varnish, sanded it off. put on 2 other coats, sanded them off, 1 coat and some polyurethane, sanded all that off. Hope there is some wood left under there! SLOPPY JOE IS READY FOR DOWNLOAD. http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5456/details Edited January 31, 2015 by kohlenklau
sgtdebruijn
kohlenklau, are you planning on more 'Bulge' releasements? can't wait to see more winterized vehicles, like a kubelwagen f.i. love your winterized u.s. jeep, pitty it isn't there for download yet. hope you, umlaut and aris will come up with more ardennes stuff. keep up the good work!!!!
kohlenklau
Yes, you are absolutely correct. I need to get that kubelwagen out and make it happen. Less talk. More action. Or as Aris would probably say "Menos hablar, mas trabajar!." (?) But I think the winter jeep was someone else's. But that would be a good vehicle to also do.!
sgtdebruijn
Do you happen to know who modded the jeep? And are there any other mod-sides out there, besides the 5 mentioned on the battlefront site? I'm also want to give it a try my self, but never did before. What programm(s) do you guys use to skin-mod vehicles and uniforms? Are there any tutorials on skin modding for CB out there? Greetings, Joël, Holland
kohlenklau
Hi Joel, No tutorials that I know of for this CM vehicle modding. This thread was started when I was asking the same questions you are right now! I can only recommend you go and read through this entire thread from page 1 and you can see the tools I downloaded and some details of methods to use...
kohlenklau
Here she is! In progress of course. I have to think of a name for her. I decided against the cross-hatched paint strokes. A few spots to hit...headlights, wheels, etc. Add some more drips and spills. Put mud under the fenders. Hang some fuzzy dice from the rear-view mirror. And I need some SS license plates. Better check on e-bay...

kohlenklau
I changed the tires on Herbie the Lovebug. ...the kubelwagen. No! Not with a jack and lug wrench smart a$$... I think the above screen shot had muddy tires? So, I went with regular tires and snowed them up. Screenshot later tonight. I also touched up here and there. When I am done I will move on to a US jeep.
sgtdebruijn
Awsome kohl !!! A white cloth cover on the spare wheel would be great...... And.........., could you also mod a canvas cover, since it only comes without as the standard version. Would be great to have some canvas covered ones to use with the Ardennes, but also with the sunny spells in the game! Same goes for the jeeps. They only come without a canvas cover................shame...............LOL. Looking forward to download! Keep up the good work! kohlenklau
Hi Joel, There are certain limits to what can be done. The spare wheel image is the same image used for the inner part of the 4 wheels touching the ground. So, the cloth/canvas cover is not possible afaik. sorry.
kohlenklau
Taking a short break off the snow vehicle mods to do some mods for my CMPzC Operation at CMBN-MG.
kohlenklau
"BLACK SOD" of the Irish Guards, Guards Armoured Division. September 1944. My pittance over top of Aris's gorgeous mod. And "Marta", the personal kubelwagen of Oberst Kerner of KG Kerner. mjkerner
Kohlenklau, I just showed Martha "her" kubelwagon. She laughed and said it was cute (after having to explain the concept of why we bother to play computer wargames, have community forums, what modding is, etc.).
Bud Backer
Your half-track looks absolutely fantastic, Kohl! Wow you have a lot of patience. Well done!
kohlenklau
You know it just shows that an old geezer can dig into something and maybe slowly develop a minor ability to be able to knock some stuff out as needed. Like a guy with a woodshop in his garage... I can't make an Ethan Allen dresser drawer but you need a napkin holder or some bookends? Stand the F back!
kohlenklau
Hey Mark, Does Martha have a sister?
mjkerner
Sorry, no. Besides, she's the only sane one in her family. And that's her assessment!
kohlenklau
I uploaded "Black Sod" to GaJ. I will eventually get "Marta" there as well...
