A few decades ago I knew a guy who advocated a similar design. He couldn't understand why if warships could have multi-gun turrets, tanks couldn't. I very patiently tried to explain to him the difference between ships and tanks, but I never felt that I completely convinced him. It was kind of a sentimental issue with him.
