I made a small Cheat Engine patch for the game, it allows you to prevent the mission ending when the timer runs out.
Just attach cheat engine to the game, then load the file and check the "Disable Mission Timer" checkbox.
When the timer goes to zero it begins counting up, the AI still functions even after you pass the time limit (though no more timed scenario actions will occur).  
I made patches for Normandy, Shock Force 2, Cold War, and Black Sea, which can be found in their respective forums

I am holding on new purchases until we get game optimizations (engine 5?). Low frames are killing me. 

I after stating the unstatable immidiately hide in a hole expecting backlash and peeking just so slightly out of it here and then to check if those long awaited improvements (for me since 2013) have finally arrived.    

This guy thinks 2 trees can obscure a ifv thats firing its gun 100m from you. 
Your opinion is instantly discarded into the trash. Trees CAN obscure, key word CAN. whats funny is that the exact location of the unit was spotted by several units with radios, but your trying to say that the ifv crew would not see it for couple of seconds? what sense does that make? absolutely none. The unit is either there or its not. 
Not knowing exact location would be if its behind a wall but you can hear the engine, or if it fell back to a spot where its now obscured. Literally having to stare at something for 5-10 crucial seconds until it magically appears out of thin air is NOT realism, and is a broken feature. Accept it or not i dont care because i know there are 100's of other people that share my exact opinion and it took until now for me to be vocal about it. so thanks for contributing nothing other than coming off as a condescending and smug forum dweller. congrats. 

I paid full price for a "combat simulator" that cant even decently model LoS. Im frustrated as i've hoped these problems would have been dealt via latest engine update but rest assured the main underlining problems that have plagued this series for over a decade is still alive and well and the devs seem to not care or just put their hands up and expect you to shell out another 60 bucks for the latest "engine upgrade". There is a 20 some-ton vehicle with its engine running, firing a 30mm cannon about 100 meters directly infront of the BTR crew and yet the crew cant see them to target even though its position was already relayed via radio. That crew knew exactly where that bmp was. Yet the bmp will spot the btr first and also open fire first. Brilliant game design lads really hit a homerun with that one. Please fix broken LoS. And for anyone who is new to the series or thinks the LoS is fine, look at the attached screenshot. Please don't start raddling off variables as if that makes up for the fact the crew cant see a massive IFV on the road firing its main gun. Give me a break. Please for the love of God, FIX THE BROKEN LOS. 
 

Hello, All. This is an AutoHotkey script to recenter the mouse pointer whenever the WASD keys are pressed. It'll then wait for all WASD to be released before it can be retriggered again so it still allows some of the original behavior depending on your taste. I have mine set to retrigger after 50ms so pretty fast. You can bring this up to 500ms or 1000ms for a longer grace period by editing the script yourself.

This is only for those who use FPS camera/controls that you can select in the main menu options.
 


You can download and install AutoHotkey here (pick current version): https://www.autohotkey.com/
Install it, then download any of the "AHK" scripts I attached to this post.
Try the original 50ms grace period one before the 1000ms one to get a feel for what this does.
Double click on the AHK file to run them after installing AutoHotkey. A Green "H" icon will show on your windows taskbar indicating the script is running. It won't do anything unless Combat Mission is the actively focused window/fullscreen.
Change your Camera in the "Controls" menu in Main Menu Options to "FPS" mode.

The script should automatically detect all Combat Mission games automatically as it searches for "CM" in an active window title. (I've only tested Black Sea though)
You MUST disable any "run as administrator" for any game shortcuts/exe as the script won't be able to detect the Combat Mission window.

I found FPS Controls the most fluid/freeing for the game but was perplexed how pressing WASD would jump the camera when I usually/accidentally had my mouse pointer in the wrong place. It's honestly frustrating. So this should alleviate that problem and should make it more logical and accessible for people to use.

FPS Controls are now my preferred way to play. It's really hard to go back to Standard/RTS controls once you realize the freedom of movement you have. 

It's not perfect as it's not native to the game code so there might be small jerks here and there but it works well enough.

There's also bonus Hotkeys that I've included that you can edit yourself in case you want something different.
Shift + Z = Removes Waypoints (Backspace)
CTRL + Z = Clears Target (Delete)

You guys are free to edit the scripts as you please but please credit Rohwedder if you plan on using his WASD code.
