Did none of the Allied amphibious vehicles (DUKW, LVT etc) make it in? Could have sworn we got renders but I don't see them in the TOE page.

I'm out of likes today but that made me laugh. I was thinking the same thing.
    Mind you Steve's worst case:
Is a bit of hyperbole - and I should know - Steve probably calls me the hyperbole king since he calls me on it from time to time. And that's not hyperbole - oh well it probably is I'm sure Steve doesn't think about my hyperbole much at all other than when he's reading it and slapping me back for it. Mind you I should point out that it works to get my point across
I totally love how in the pages after Steve laid out some different broad groups of customers: WW2 only fans who don't like time spent on the modern titles, Modern fans only who don't like time spent on the WW2 titles, Eastern front fans who don't like time spent on anything other than eastern front, feature fans who want wiz bang instead of content etc. etc. ... and then examples of each magically appeared and had their say.
Most fun I have had in a thread in a long time. That's not hyperbole

I have no idea if Steve will chime in but I'll take a shot at writing an explanation. This is from memory so have your salt handy: the issue is the memory, disk space requirements and load times. There is no way to make it work on machines that are not top of the line because there is just too much data to push around. For CM2 there is just no way to improve this since the game was never designed to handle what would be required - my impression is that would be dynamic loading and unloading of data. I'm not sure if that would even help with hard drive space either. While the professional edition can have specs that are much higher than the commercial edition there is no real way to manage that for the rest of us. Even those of us that have machines that can handle that what about those that don't? What about those that are borderline? What about when some dope tries to fight two battalions vs two battalions on a huge heavily forested map (me)? The support issues around all that is just too much for how the CM2 engine was designed.

Oh interesting. I personally have not had the pleasure but I heard it was a bit cumbersome and subject to surprises here and there.

Sensitive topic apparently; but I'm curious why it's not viable for commercial. I missed whenever it was explained in the past and having used it in CMPE it seems to work pretty well.

...back in the 70's my older brother (now about 64) and I (now about 58) had this name we would say for anybody that made a stupid error or goofed up something...where it came from exactly I am not sure.
You touched the plastic model's paint before it was dry and left a fingerprint...
Or you got too much model glue on the seams and "goobered" it up...
    "YOU F***KING NIMROD!!!"
I was the younger brother with the lesser skills of plastic model assembly so I know you can guess which way it was mostly directed.
Nimrod. Don't be a damn nimrod. A good rule to live by I suppose.

Aye hopefully it will be 'all good fun'  thanks Steve.
Aye, this battle pack is set during the fighting between the German and Soviet armies in eastern Poland during the summer of 1944. This fighting was some of the heaviest on the Eastern Front during the entire war. This battle pack presents a series of actions recreating key moments in this fighting through the perspective of the forces involved during July and August.
It’s been a real labour of love. The genesis of this battle pack was the  series of images in the photo book Kampfgruppe Mühlenkamp published by RZM and authored by Douglas Nash and Remy Spezzano. On the back of this I started work on what became the Five Days One Summer campaign which is the key campaign of this battle pack.
This battle pack would never have got anywhere without the help and support of a whole bunch of others. I would like to give a huge shout out to all those including the BFC beta testers for all the playtesting, feedback, advice and support. I am also indebted to Mr Douglas Nash for his freely given help and support in clarifying some of the details involved in several actions involving ‘Wiking’, notably the fighting around Tluszcz in mid-August 1944. If you’ve not checked out his recent trilogy “From the Realm of a Dying Sun” its well worth doing so for the background to this battle pack. Also worth having a look at is the “Operation Bagration 23 June-29 August 1944” by the Soviet General Staff which gives a ‘big picture’ view of the Soviet operations in this period.
I hope you all, as the players enjoy these scenarios and campaigns as much as I did researching and creating them. As always, I’d appreciate any comment and feedback and I look forward to seeing how this collection of scenarios and campaigns plays out for yourselves.
    Cheery!

A respectably loose definition of "mid-year", lots to be excited about there, any news about the Black Sea module though?

And if the FI BP is underway may we perhaps have a bone about the overall focus of it?

Another writeup for those of you who can pry yourselves from the Ukraine thread. This time, the topic is mission planning, specifically how to do it in relation to Combat Mission scenarios.
    The basic idea is:
    Planning Framework for Combat Mission
The workflow for planning how to play a scenario in Combat Mission can be broken into four parts and are done in order. They are:
         1.      Receive OPORD/WARNO/FRAGO
         2.      METT-TC
         3.      OKOCA
         4.      Enemy Course of Action (ECOA)
Read along for the full breakdown and explanation! https://millerswargamingvault.blogspot.com/2022/06/introduction-planning-is-critical-to.html
Feel free to discuss. Just remember that this is a very complicated subject if you decide to get really into the details. There are entire doctrinal publications covering each one of these topics. This is a more general overview meant to be easily digestible in a single sitting, as as such some nuance is lost.
Fair warning for my fellow rock bangers, there are no pictures in this entry besides the cover image.

"Hijacked"? I merely discussing the content of the above-mentioned video.
What happened is Soviets were crushed due to the lack of spotting abilities.
The video itself is the evidence that you so crave to see, but you won't because you are as blind as t-62.
I really don't have any naive illusions that you will change anything, because all the failures of the game are by design. But that won't spare you of well deserved criticism. Enjoy.

I didn't watch the video because I can't stand Rice for more than 3 minutes, but I suspect the issue is that BFCs pro-US bias meant that the Soviets did not perform as they historically would, along with the lack of nukes and chemical warfare in-game.
