  1. People ignore lots of times that they have a lot more bullets for their MG than a MG42 has. Their MG gunner got a lot better cover than an MG42 has. Once their MG42 is suppressed keep him suppressed by nonstop area fire. It takes a long time before his 7000 rounds run out. Naturally protect them from German armor, their main gun is also not altogether useless for self-protection.
  2. Never lost a battle but lost the war. M113 doesn't depend on bridges.
  3. Against the AI I found attacking is the better option unless the designer specifies it otherwise. Second battle for Chaumont likewise the German side. Playing allies, I found find the Germans and then kick their butt with your supporting weapons. The MG42 will give them superiority against allied infantry especially if you play commonwealth. The allies manufactured 40000 Shermans and they shine as infantry support.
  4. According to this guy the M4 is an assault rifle this new rifle is a battle rifle. But for an urban environment the M4 is a hard act to follow.
  5. Just bumped into an article about this rifle and show the Wiki Article about it. Made in Switzerland. Will be made under license in the US I suppose. XM5 - Wikipedia
  6. Somebody pointed out that the Russians needed to control the major road arteries for their logistics. Capturing empty farmland looks good for their domestic audience but there are little or no benefits.
  7. I remember the days when Korea veterans swore by the Lee Enfield .303. Reason it always worked. The biggest benefit of the .223 is pleasant for recruits who never fired a gun. Reason I rate the 9mm higher than the .45 ACP. Even jeff Coopers flawed energy formula projectile multiplied by velocity in Ft/Sec. (Kinetic Energy doesn't work that way). But it was the formula for a worthwhile sport. The point I am making a hit in the lung heart area scored a five, two AA qualified shooters can't afford misses outside the five ring. Wish you luck with your hobbies but your Uncle Sam seems to have different ideas now. Snipers in the game use the .308 Winchester magnum and the Marines the M4 in 5.56 NATO. Marines in the game have body armour and it seems to be reasonably effective. Range of engagement with modern optics is now 500 yards I tend to agree you need a little more thumb than the 5.56 NATO. But I am only a pensioner and enjoy this game.
  8. Get some reloading books and do your sums. I did and at 300 meters it performs like a 9mm at 25 meters. Not pleasant but body armor will stop it. It looks like the special forces boys demand something a little more powerful. The 5.56mm still has some way to go for the regulars.
  9. Urban Combat in Hatten. Panzerschreck is a very decisive weapon in the game, almost on par with the AT-84. Or is the AT-84 a reskinned Panzerschreck? The two MG42s didn't get the fire superiority. Also in a building on the other side of the street.
  10. Try to use the mouse wheel. Camera 1 drivers' position, one notch up fighting compartment, two notches up unbuttoned.
  11. F-Key all the way down then the X-Key for a nice POV. Something for Engine 5 a POV Key. It makes me cringe on YouTube playing the game only from camera 4. Using the camera well is one of the keys playing the game well.
  12. After years of trying all the fancy tricks in the book LOS is best done by eyeballing from camera position1. If you get a LOS the game gives you either a full contact or a tentative contact. Here two scouting teams are moving to contact. First eyeballed the terrain. Two sections of the same platoon are tasked to make contact with the enemy. Receiving fire but as they are moving, they don't get an LOS. They move to contact towards a suspected enemy position. Use a fit but not a brave unit for this task. Fear is their friend to survive. They are suppressed easily and they don't care about their LOS. During this turn the other team was resting and spotted the enemy position. The engine gives you automatically an LOS. Low quality units have their uses. The German pillbox is on borrowed time.
  13. Administration when you play the game. You need to have a workflow in place especially for battalion size formations. How do other players tackle this?
  14. I think they looked through the breach and the barrel if they saw a tank on the other side, they shot at it. That way you're restricted to point blank range. An experienced commander could do it by reckoning 100 meters is a length of a football field. An infantry effective range can be calculated. Forget about engaging over a km.
  15. I agree with that. The scenario, if it says attack or assault your options are time limited. probe and meeting is different again. It is a matter of choice either a two men team enters a house on hunt, or you give a 15 second burst with a .50 MG.
  16. Early Cold War. Korean War escalates into Europe. Hungarian crises escalate, Sues Canal crises of 1956. South African Bush wars fighting Cubans. Talking about Cubans, Bay of Pigs, and the missile crises. Got rid of the Search and Destroy strategy in Vietnam, and invade the North. The sky is the limit.
  17. I think this is not modelled in the game. It seems the AFV conveniently always has the right shell loaded.
  18. Read the terrain from RL observe from a shadow through a shadow and you will remain invisible. Unfortunately, shadows are not modelled in the game, I think. But shrub permits you to observe through it if you are next to it you will remain invisible for some length of time. A moving scout is unlikely to spot anything, the guys with binoculars who are on overwatch will. Good overwatch position is the bocage in Normandy.
  19. Playing the game, we read in three dimensions and the reader is included. It is what makes gaming unique a media in which the customer can participate.
  20. You know the Han Chinese migrated to Taiwan around the same time the British settled in America. therefore, their claim is ridiculous. Of the original indigenous population only make out 2% of today's population.
  21. He probably will say you can't invade your own country. All part of their ambit claim.
  22. Anybody who can say this with a straight face deserves some kind of recognition. I don't know what.
  23. Scouting, commit all of the first wave. Scout A received fire but makes no contact. Scout B gets the tentative contact. Don't send a scout anywhere unless you can provide an overwatch. Soviet attack centers around their armor who has the radios.
  24. Exactly I probably return to my home next year where the use of our recreational drugs are punished by a SA Copy of the AK47. My advice listen to the travel advice of the country you call home. You always should have the last word.
