  1. I wrote in full contact. I tried it out in BN Tutorial Campaign one squad was Red and two squads were Blue The exercise was spotting and suppressing. Red was on hide inside the farm, small arms fire suppressed them only. Blue closed in on the farm and refused fire orders once Red came into full contact. Thanks for your input.
  2. Makes no difference I tested it out. Units won't fire at friendly units they are in full contact with. Fratricide happens during area fire. The scenario I tried it out on BN Tutorial campaign. On Iron so you need to spot your own units first. To find contacts the Hunt Command is a poor choice in my opinion.
  3. It is moving to contact not to find contacts. I usually move towards a contact icon and wish to make a full contact.
  4. It is OK if you play the AI. My issue is trenches and foxholes scout A makes contact with an MG42 in a foxhole. The foxhole is automatically updated on the map and can be used as a reference point. I would like to see a more realistic model that the map only update it for the units with a direct LOS. Kind regards.
  5. Common sense of formations and that is why we can split units up. As they are is aka a purple heart formation. I assume you are familiar with the soccer game. You deploy the team over an are of 50 x 100 meters. A squad in combat mission covers an area of 8 by 24 meters. Yes it comes down to micro management our soccer stadium is not too big an area to deploy an infantry squad. Especially as an allied unit vs an MG42 the least you can do is make the SOB swing his weapon to engage.
  6. You look at two SU76's at 250 meters and people think that CM is not realistic in spotting. Just turn of the icons and be honest with yourself. I exposed the shadows in post processing. They are actually more visible now. Spotting is at the first instance done with the naked eye. If you look through binoculars without knowing what you're looking for you suffer tunnel vision aka legally blind. Your C2 is important in other words a lone AFV is unlikely to spot anything.
  7. The only thing a can reluctantly agree with, there is a way around this. If you have a Windows PC the Xbox Game Bar has all the tools you just mentioned. The reason I play on WeGo you can video record every turn or take screenshots.
  8. Use this tool. Postimages — free image hosting / image upload
  9. The funny thing is he can't communicate directly to AFV's but he can when you mount a unit from his formation on it. The AFV crew is too dumb to select the right channel?
  10. Windows-Alt-PrintSc by pressing Windows-G you get the Windows App which opens in any Editing program.
  11. Just a question what is the benefit of a radio if none of the HQ's in your formation have a radio?
  12. The examples here would result in a contact in CM but not in a full contact in which you can identify the spotted AFV. Result in CM your AFV won't open fire.
  13. Yes and besides the unit or units look in the right direction.
  14. War is like a horse race you must bet on the winning horse. This guy didn't but destroyed 13 Soviet tanks. Men against tanks he was 18 years and served his time after the war. Once he knew the truth he regretted he ever joined up.
  15. Scenario Seelow Heights the Soviet infantry spots the German armor which are hull down distance 1100 meters distance under hazy conditions. He also identifies Tigers from Panthers. This is about on par with Elite British FO's in Edge of darkness SF2.
  16. It is meaningless to compare Game A vs Game B. I found that I get the best results if I let the TacAI doing it's thing. Plotting manually may well interfere to a little extend with the mechanics of the game.
  17. The 75 mm Shermans don't use them on the light fire command but the 76 mm do. I tried it out in FB as I think they are effective against buildings.
  18. It is not hard only use the tools in the game. It is also the reason I play on Iron units who can see each other can communicate.
  19. Try to bypass the PC as much as possible which is not easy. Example a Soviet Sapper Platoon spots an MG42 but he has no radio. He can however in the game somehow contact the FDC (by flares, field telephone etc) Once the adjustment phase kicks in he can cancel the fire mission and Regimental HQ can dispatch reinforcement's. Us playing Zeus on Mount Olympus can do this at any time.
  20. US its HQ can call in the air force and heavy artillery if it is WW2 it mirrors real life there. But I understand you meant post WW2 the precise Russian capabilities are probably highly classified.
  21. Horizontal Communication in Mountains of the Moon. The Mortar HQ is in direct C2 communication with his Regimental HQ because he is in close proximity. The Observer of the Sapper Battalion has a radio but he doesn't share it with the infantry HQ to communicate he needs to be in close proximity as well. Recon Platoon HQ of the armored units needs to share the intel of his 2 scout cars the reason he is placed in the close proximity of HQ's he likes to share his intel with. All Soviet units up to company level don't have wireless however all HQ can access the FDC of the Mortar units. They need to follow the artillery strikes. This mission also has 2 independent FO's with radios which can be embedded with the advancing forces. I understand the Radios work with the unit or units shown by the green radio button on the left corner.
  22. C2 for example playing Russian each HQ can access mortars and this mechanic can be used to simulate field telephone, flares or signal torches. We use it as a house rule once the receiving phase ends and he can adjust the regimental HQ can send a company of SU152's for example. The fire mission can be canceled anytime if the FO needs the assets. Jeeps and Kübelwagens are effective for information sharing. I like Zündapp motorcycles with a mounted MG42 on the sidecar. Nice project for a modder?
