  1. No, no no. Nobody is elite. These units have been wiped and reformed already.
  2. I guess this was acknowledged, but the problem still persists and needs to be addressed. The M113A2 from CMCW is far too vulnerable. The "high intensity" combat situations that eliminate my gunners are from squad or smaller sized elements at very distant engagement ranges for open sights and a target so small.
  3. Lmao yeah I've seen this happen plenty of times before. Tommy did what had to be done. Simple as.
  4. Amd chips have been having all sorts of openGL issues. It's been reported 1000 times on the forums already. Try reverting drivers.
  5. VDV units have an extremely limited mission. They are not "elite" troops either. They are pretty much the only contracted professional soldiers in the entire Russian military. So they're "regulars". If I recall correctly Spetsnaz follows as second but is still nowhere near the VDV. I highly doubt BMD's are more armored than contemporary BMP's, considering they're supposed to be air deployable. The ak12's aren't desirable weapons either. They've already been revised since the invasion with the 2 round burst being recalled. The internet is full of ak12 reliability issues. A report just came out on The Thread(R) saying that >75% of Ukrainian casualties were caused by artillery or mrls. So yeah, the support assets are still king of the battlefield and light infantry retain the mission of taking and holding territory. The real failure of the VDV during the 2022 Hostomel airport attack was because the Russian ground forces didn't have adequate time to link up at Hostomel, which meant the first wave of airborne troops were wiped out. Despite the size of their squads light infantry without a logistics trail (airborne troops) are not going to stand up to a mechanized attack being supported by high power (203mm) artillery. VDV toe is very lacking in support assets
  6. cmfi bren carriers "opened up" has the gunner raise his body half a foot, he's staring at a metal shield in front of him. nice.
  7. cmfi british armored infantry engineer squadron platoons are far too large to be mounted up in their vehicles 1943
  8. FIX OR AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE HALF TRACK GUNNERS
  9. Augh my biggest problem is a lack of getting 10 man squads and a 4 platoon arrangement with german infantry. The single mg34 is appealing, I for the most part generally get favorable results by setting quality to poor in the editor for a 1942 setting. For 1942 that does sound nice. btw the orsha maps 1 and 4(?) port directly into cmfi. I desertized them and removed the trees, it looks good. I even made an attack/defense scenario using the full map
  10. I'd never complain about singular errors, but I've come across some maps where the author didn't even bother to look over their creations. I have suggested fixes to others but I don't complain about it. Further I've actually fixed maps for others too who failed to care for their maps.
  11. If I were to proofread the Berlin map pack that released - yeah it would take something like 100 years, but that's because most buildings on every map are connected and unedited. Doing a map like the cmcw map I posted is childs play. I'm no stranger to long drawn out projects myself so I understand what constitutes a long time. For 99% of CM maps it's as much as remembering where houses were, adjusting elevation and moving on. It's a quick process. You edit in 2d, then move to 3d to add the appropriate walls if you feel something is off. If there's a lot of 3d editing - download an autoclicker.
  12. I don't need to push out a master map to tell you that proofreading and checking houses does not take a long time. Map making itself takes a long time, proofreading *houses* does not. Unless you push out an entire map pack where all the buildings are connected and also unedited, then it's an overwhelmingly large issue.
  13. The cmcw map? I disagree, it doesn't take long to proofread your work. Buildings are easy. For connecting buildings just fly the camera through it and make sure there are doors in the interior. If youre going to make a large map, it requires a lot of work. Simple as.
  14. CMCW - Mechanized formations do not come mounted up. Think how many hours must have been spent mounting troops in their vehicles. Thousands of hours. please fix this, my god.
  15. Do you have cell service at your house? I used to have satellite until I found a provider that gives unlimited internet through the cell companies. We were paying a fortune for absolute crap satellite internet until I suggested this. Satellite internet is thievery. I'll PM you the website if you have cell service since we're not allowed to publically post commercial links around here.
  16. Kandu, the map is amazing as always. An interesting mix of rivers and heights. Nothing takes longer than Hauts Vents to load though, another unbelieveable map!
  17. ..As I was saying it's possible to simulate basements to an extent in CM. I added doors to the 1st floor of these houses. The house I circled in blue (The house in screenshot #1) blocks movement to the door, but the two red circled houses do not block movement from the newly added doors. Troops CAN shoot out of every house through the door, but their LOS is obstructed somewhat, and they can't really see a lot. This is obviously not something intended or supported by Battlefront, it's just a quirk of how the engine works. The map I used is Pilgerzel from CMCW (I already forget, one of the US campaign master maps.).
  18. Ah yep I've posted this one before. Although I find Suprin to be amateurish compared to actual historians, his talks are very enjoyable to listen to. I've found three on Youtube IIRC. I find that he lacks depth but has breadth instead ...specifically his Finnish war video.
  19. To serve as basements maybe? The CM engine is pretty versatile and can simulate underground structures to an extent, if it's done correctly.
  20. Eh I really don't want to use 100 mods in my games. The panzer IV (This one even works in winter) and stug kz models you provided are excellent though, don't get me wrong. I use them often. The point is to create a Fall Blau or/then Stalingrad campaign which isn't heavily dependent on using mods. Btw the boys model looks good, glad it worked for you, but again crazy that you have to resort to modding cmrt to get an AT rifle.
  21. If this is a bug and was fixed then I would be happy, but afaik it's a quirk.
  22. Hahaha yeah they were quite useful when designing panzer/motorized divisions for 1942
