  1. You didnt mentioned internal walls in your original post. Either way a destroyed wall will offer cover that an empty wall wont. The reason why the above happens is because only one of the houses was walled up. Add walls to another house and they wont be able to shoot at each other. To explain this simply: You can walk through a door in cm. You can also walk through a broken wall in cm. You can further walk through a completely removed wall. It's essentially a doorway. Make a complex building like you did above, except dont delete walls and make them all solid instead. Add doorways to one side of the wall and not the other. Your troops will walk through the doorways and into the next house. They can also see and shoot into the next house. With this method you can create interior balconies that sort of function and you dont have to go crazy making doorways on both sides of the wall if you dont want to.. though it looks much better if you do. Further, this allows you to pair houses with broken walls to other houses to create more complex structures. I.e. using the tiny barn with 1 destroyed wall and connecting it to a modular house. The barn will look like a foyar entraceway where people typically store clothes, shoes, outdoor equipment or whatever. It essentially adds more options for the mapmaker. I can think of another reason too. If you're making a complex structure and you dont want to see wallpaper on the inside. You can delete the interior wall and you'll have a sometimes more visually appealing/realistic wall.
  2. So much for sending non-lethal aid only.
  3. Here they are for the other games: huge blank map CMCW.btt huge blank map CMFB.btt huge blank map CMBS.btt huge blank map CMFI.btt huge blank map CMBN.btt
  4. Thanks a lot, I'll go ahead and port that to every title later.
  5. I had asked @Pete Wenman if he had the rad-full 2 map blank slate laying around. Luckily enough he had it. It should be a 5.7 x 5.7km blank map if anybody else wants to work on a giant map instead of breaking things down into smaller areas.
  6. I learned recently that the German 50mm mortars were phased out due to limited range. I think it was from the audiobook version of "Enduring the Whirlwind" which was pretty much entirely focused on the Germans from 1941-43.
  7. I had a 2015ish alienware m17r3 also. I hated it. It had an i7 6700q and a nvidia 980m and a 4k screen. But it performed like a desktop from 2009. It was certainly not beefy enough to handle CM in an enjoyable amount.
  8. Have you guys updated your drivers? There was a nvidia driver released last year which crashed my games when I had two running at the same time. I reupdated and it's running like normal again. i also have an 8gb video card so I was justifiably annoyed. As for the laptop case, yeah laptop gpus suck. Until they add an inch thick of heatsinks then gaming laptops will continue to be useless. Linnet doesnt push the game to crashing normally, at least for real time. As for the 140mb file size, that's approaching the max I've seen CM games take in turn based mode. I've had games which ran ok eventually crash at above 140mb saves.
  9. I had my doubts in the worth of the MRAPs but they continue to impress me. Considering the apparent low density of ATGM's at this stage of the war they keep troops safe. I'm really surprised it's holding up half the weight of a 46 ton T-72.
  10. https://kansaspress.ku.edu/9780700610983/ Waiting on my shelf to be read by me, but shows the progression of tables of organization over the past 100 years. This guy is the man.
  11. I guess if you're used to them for so long they're good, but I came up with some that I feel are better, and allow me to make sweeping movements on a couple axis at the same time. Yeah I just swap the hotkeys from a different CM game and that works, but I always forget where to place it so I have like 5 hotkey files per game folder.
  12. I totally forgot the issue was resolved in cmbs from the 2.18 update: "FIXED: AI gets confused with two targets and enters a cycle of turning the turret back and forth and never choosing a target " However I have noticed the problem in cmrt, and most recently in cmfi with a stummel halftrack specifically.
  13. Can you guys please consider not including a hotkeys file with the updates? It's a little annoying having to replace the hotkeys that come with the game every time, they're awful.
  14. Speaking of shocking. FFS that's some scary ****.
  15. I should have been more specific sorry. It's when the AI sees a target but gets stuck between rotating to the target and then rotating back to center, in an endless loop. The target never gets shot at because the turret keeps aiming back and fourth from the center line and then back to the target.
  16. ALL GAMES - the rotating turret bug, can this please get addressed? I've seen it in all the games. I usually have it happen to conscript troops but now it's affecting my veteran stummel crew. Turn available on request.
  17. Should be the high command, I don't know of anything higher level than brigades. Then again finding out Ukrainian TOE is like pulling teeth, not much if anything is public.
  18. If they didnt allow splitting then they would be as retarded as the Italians. Considering the code, youre going to have 8-11 dudes sitting on one floor in a house, three to four per window. Not allowing squads to split is poor game design. House to house fighting is available on 99.5% of all CM maps.
  19. Thanks a lot for the bug fixes, in particular the Pz III which I whined about. Much appreciated!
  20. Sure is, if I was told it wasn't enough. Typically I remember things the first time around. Education in my state varies. Schools closer to Manhattan can be extremely competitive but in the suburbs it's more lax.
