  1. That's some of the worst. Advertisements in my OS? These guys are crackheads.
  2. I will never like 10. Windows 7 will always be KOTH for me. They overcomplicated simple tasks wherever I look. I wish I could roll back.
  3. Thank you tons Sbob! I wonder how Steve feels about people publishing maps. Some of us don't have these games but will have access to the maps. Is that fair?
  4. Update: Gustav line master map pack: Works fine in 3d editor. Market Garden map pack: Johanna Hoeve, Oosterhout works. Nijmegen maps won't load into 3d editor (With or without bridges). Oosterbeek won't load into 3d. Red Thunder maps: Work like a charm. These seem to be the best suited for CMBS. Go figure. The rest of the downloaded maps are hit and miss. (I downloaded every map I could from Thefewgoodmen) If anyone could lend a hand helping us to get the MG and BP1 maps working that would be great!
  5. I actually spent some time and got the python script btt_mutilator to work. It translated all the FI and RT master maps just fine. I havent checked the integrity of all the maps in CMBS yet. I know Operation Linnet (BP1?) Asks for a module every time. Is there a workaround for this? If anyone needs a hand with the Python script I can explain what I did. It was pretty simple.
  6. I had previously looked at this thread, but the google drive links seem to be down.
  7. Is there an established way to port maps now? The player made maps for CMBN i find fantastic. In addition, the master maps for CMBN are the best of the best. I wish to port them to Black Sea. ALSO: I have tried changing a byte in a hex editor but the master maps seem to crash still. I haven't tried porting the maps over for a couple months, so I don't remember exactly what I did. Thanks guys.
  8. No need to overthink the conflict. This very small portion of the game is only mindless fun. The rest however, is intensive strategy.
  9. CM is definitely cpu heavy. I had a massive increase in fps when I overclocked my cpu. Anything past a 200 series Nvidia card will do you just fine. I'd never buy a 50 series card however. A 60 series typically has enough power to drive the games of it's generation just fine. I always buy used components also, you should be able to build a pc well under budget
  10. So how do we convert maps now? They all seem to crash on conversion and rename in CMBS editor.
  11. Are we posting this on this forum to help convince Steve we need the NATO/Brexit expansions ported from SFII?
  12. Oh we all know about your younger life thanks to a certain Polygon interview
  13. Hahaha Valued Customer is the name of your user account!?
  14. When you said "A couple" I should have taken it more literally... I already have those maps.. I was hoping to find a 7000 x 7000 map or something... wishful thinking Thanks anyway for the prompt response friends.
  15. If I could get my hands on those huge maps I'd sure be happy!
  16. Well how often do things like that happen? The Wargame series does the same thing to a much lesser realistic scale. Sure there are a couple duds here and there but this community is significantly more mature. Of course it's optional to play the way I propose. People can still play 1v1. However, if you assemble a team of players and coordinate well, you could steamroll opponents.
  17. I was talking about real time. I understand how hectic things could be through pbem. Spreading the workload can make battalion level battles much less stressful and enjoyable I think.
  18. This kind of thread may have been done previously, but I figured I'd voice my opinion anyway. If it was possible, I think it'd be really cool to have 4v4 battles etc... Have one person command company HQ level elements, then his three platoon leaders under him command their platoons. Playing like this in real time would make battles feel much better and leave less stress to the players. Personally I would not mind playing a role as laid back as a company HQ element which calls in cas, approves artillery, recons...etc. What do you guys think about this kind of hierarchy?
  19. Oh boy that's more than BN. Thanks again!
  20. My next purchase will be this game. I wanted to know if there are any master maps for it. I really enjoy massive maps to play on. Thanks.
